Hey guys can someone please explain this. GSF goes into zombie mode foe a few seconds then.the gminer hits me with GSF FAILURE Disabling
GSF 10051114 : FOUND 0 CHIP(s)
I was mining just fine for my frist 24 then out yhe blue this happens.
sudo cgminer -o stratum+tcp://nl.kano.is:3333 -u Terabyte01.worker -p x --suggest-diff 442 --gekko-compacf-freq 400 --gekko-start-freq 300 --gekko-tune-up 85
Then I used all the other commands with the same issues even let sit off with no power for a few hours same thing.

What hub are you using? What OS are you using?

Little issue I'm having. 8 Sticks on 2x Gekkoscience Hubs shared between 2x PI4 8gb versions because I couldn't get 8 to play on one Pi correctly. I seem to have an issue the minute the PI has 2x USB Hubs going to it. I remember someone in here had the same issue with over 6 sticks on 1x PI. CPU/Memory usage is completely fine with 8 (Its "high" but never above 60% CPU). The second one has 2 sticks that no matter how I start frequencies/gekko-tune/etc. All of them have Noctua 5000 RPM 12v fans on them, but with these two (recently received) I thought maybe it was heat issues so they have a 120mm just sitting in front of the two (removed the Noctua on those 2) thinking maybe it was a heat issue. I've tried isolating them on a per stick basis and neither wants to make it past 400 (if I set at 400 instead of 500 which gives 460/415 it'll come up with like 380/350). So I'm not really sure what is going on. I've ran 6 sticks at 500GHs on 1 PI4 8gb forever. When I got the Gekko hubs and the other 2 new sticks the issues started. Even on my PI that has them running smooth at 500MHz, if I try to go to even like 530 it does not want to take it. The Gekkohub should support the voltage without issue (it's connected via PCIe not barrel plug for more power).

Have you tried upping the vcore voltage using the pot at the bottom right of the stick? Are the two new ones set at the same position as the “old” ones?

That bitcoin merch hub is no good. Another member has been having problems with power delivery from it too. Get yourself a gekko hub.

Ended up adjusting the vcore and for whatever reason now both hubs work together as well. Sitting at ~2.7TH/s at 530MHz on all 8.

These CompacF Ferraris are nice speed on my Solo rig . What syntax gets both NewPac and CompacF Running different frequencies and in the same 4.12 Cgminer?

Just copy and tack on the relevant newpac string you use into the one used to run the F. That said, due to the way the older sticks communicate it is better to run 2 instances of cgminer: 1 for the newpacs (and 2pacs and the original Compac), and one for the F(s). That's how I do it and yes all from one Gekko hub.

As you are running 1 Compac F, get an active USB hub from Anker or Orico. If you intend to run more CompacF's in the future get the GekkoScience hub and a PCIe PSU. Cooling is essential if you run the CompcF at higher clock rates. I have mounted a 12v Noctua fan on a 3D printed attachment to the heat sink. In addition, I put an external fan on the hub to be on the safe side ...

amazing, thanks! another quick one - I'm running it on an old linux machine that has only USB 2.0 - is there any difference in performance when using USB 2 vs USB 3 ? got my Compac F today. I'm a newb so few questions - any recommendations for usb power and cooling setup? thanks

has only USB 2.0 - is there any difference in performance when using USB 2 vs USB 3 ? nope. Unless you are running a lot of sticks on 1 USB port the lower bandwidth of 2.0 is not an issue.

Has anyone here pushed these hot rods to the max doing 800 MHz? “we agreed to cap the speed to 800MHz (538GH theoretical) for safety and sanity's sake” I am curious of what the results were and the setup to actually make this possible, given that usb powered hub ports safety levels are at 3amps. Im running my sticks on the bitcoinmerch usb hubs...they are not steady at all I should have picked up the gekkoscience hubs when they were available..

I'll look into solo working with 0.21 when I get to doing that - give it a little while But no, it's far from ideal to use a version of bitcoin prior to 0.21, since when taproot activates next month, you must be running 0.21 or later. Hi Kano, could you give us an update? Not done yet. Working on pool code. Hi Kano, two month now, any update for the fix of cgminer?

Im running 4 sticks, and no matter what mhz, 1 always lags behind. At first i thought it was the bitcoin merch hub, so i upgraded to the gekko hub. On the new hub I can run them higher, they all run faster, but 1 is still lagging behind the others
I adjusted the volt screw 45 degrees twice. they all came stock in this postion | so i adjusted clockwise and is now in this position _
Im timid to keep adjusting. So my question is how much should the volt screw be adjusted?
sidenote: when the 4 sticks were delivered, 3 were in one package and have consecutive serial numbers. the laggy one was separate and has a different serial number. Could it just be it was manufactured differently, and the silicone just responds differently than the other 3, and i should be happy with what i get?
Thanks

Unfortunately you do have to allow for the “silicon lottery” as with all chips. Some will perform well, others not so much. I wouldn't increase the voltage pot anymore, have you tried reducing it lower than stock?

If we shipped a stick, it will have put up at least 220GH set to 400MHz across a minimum of 24 hours on my tester. Performance beyond that is not guaranteed. Even with that criteria, we had a high percentage that just plain didn't pass muster and needed a chip replaced. With these guys it really is a lottery.

I gotcha. no worries. Im def not complaining. These Ferraris are awesome!
Since i got the Gekko hub I ramped them up (incrementally) to 550mhz. 3 were getting about 360ghs, and 1 was at 340. Which is still amazing.
and I did dial back the volt screw. but then it only got up to 520mhz. so i turned back up a bit, but not as much as I had before. its back to 550mhz, and 340ghs. So it's all good.
If only I could find more gekko hubs, Id buy some more. There is a guy in Germany selling 2 hubs on Ebay for like 1500 Euros ($1700) +$160 shipping. I offered him $500, and he told me to go F myself ¯\_ (ツ)_/¯ hopefully there in stock again soon.
