Canelo has poured cold water on the idea of facing David Benavidez anytime in the near future. He is demanding $150–200 million to accept that fight.
Hahaha it all about money and of course Canelo will try to get large amounts of money from the fight if there is valid contract agreement, without fight contract with large amount of money agreed then that won't happen.
After all, he is risking his name and the championship title he has earned, if it only brings him defeat then he will get nothing but disappointment.
I think Canelo is quite smart and with such big numbers it would also be reason that Benavidez would never fight him, Benavidez is pretty good fighter and at any time could make Canelo lose the title.

When Alvarez, 33, was asked if Benavidez was the next biggest fight that could be made, he said, "Maybe. Who knows? But he brings nothing to the table for me. He just brings 25 extra pounds on the night of the fight. That’s it. He has nothing to offer me, anything. I’m the one … If a promoter who I work with offers $150 to $200 million, then I'll fight tomorrow. That's the only reason I'll fight with him.”

When you make a demand that ridiculous it is obvious you don’t want to make the fight. PBC and DAZN have recently rejected Canelo’s proposed fights against Charlo and Berlanga, which is an indication of his declining marketability. Pricing himself out is nothing more than an admission of being scared to lose. Canelo vs. Benavidez would be a huge deal but it doesn’t have the historic significance of an undisputed heavyweight fight, which is the only thing that can come close to being worth those kinds of purses.
Canelo will remain focused on his fight against Jamie Munguia and that is the fight he really hopes for, even though in this fight Jamie Munguia can make Canelo feel defeat.
We see after this whether there will be an agreement for the amount requested or not, if contract agreement does occur then that crazy and we will see really impressive battle.

Maybe when Canelo tastes that big money, specially when he had that contract with DAZN, somewhat he learn the business of boxing. And so before taking any big chances, he will surely request huge amount to the point that he is pricing himself and now looking like he is ducking Benavidez.

Also myself also said in the past the Canelo is avoiding him, this could be the reason why he doesn't want Benavidez. To him and for others, this is business, they want to get as much money in just one fight and secure their future.

Maybe Pacquiao is willing to go sleep in the ring again for money because young and active fighters like Tank and Crawford were also mentioned.

It is possible, well it is all about money and Manny Pacquiao is still very passionate about boxing... who would not take the opportunity of getting into the ring fulfilling his passion, and earn money from it?

That is the good thing about being Manny Pacquaio. He literally turned passion into profit. This is where he got his fortune and talent brought him  to where he is right now. As much as we all love to see our favorite boxers into the ring again for an exhibition match, It would be very less interesting now than before when they fought for belts on a professional bouts. These whole exhibition thing is all just for the money and a little bit of entertainment. Just because these are big names in boxing industry the promoters and organizers will have enough reason to raise the tickets because boxing fans around the world would always love to see these fighters again.
Now, on Manny's case, It really makes so much sense that he's pursuing an exhibition match because it is gonna be the local election again in 2025 and here in the PH, no matter how influential and good you are, if you can't buy the people's vote you'll almost guaranteed to have no chance to sit in the city hall.

I agree to that, he needs money for his upcoming candidacy for sure he will particiapate again and will re-try his luck, with opportunities like this where he just need to show up and fight, it's  a money generated passion for Pacman, for sure there are many fans who still thinks and believes that Pacman can still make a big damage, and like what you just mentioned, the amount of a ticket will be more expensive even the fight is just an exhibition. Pacman's name still have that value and with how he's showing his training I think he still can bring down a young fighter if timing is perfect and if his opponent will be careless.

This could be the reasons, but Pacman has a lot of business ventures if I'm not mistaken, so he is still making a lot of money even if he is no longer fighter. But if the opportunities exists then why not though? It's going to be like easy money for him 100 million PHP, just like that.

Let see if what he can bring when the time come for his exhibition match, if he still got something left as if there's chance that he might face a current champs, though the winning chance is slim but we never know.

As much as we love the Pacman, he should be very conscious of his health. He had a lot of wear and tear already during his years of boxing. So just let his body heal right now. It's not like Floyd, Mayweather during his prime was a defensive genius, while Manny is a warrior and has been knockout cold so he should think of his health.

And when we comeback, it what Floyd started, he severe his tie with Top Rank that time and become the manager himself and command more millions in every fight. And probably this is what Canelo is doing right now with picking fights that make sense in terms of money he can generate.

I'm still under the impression that he duck DB, but that's what boxing is right now. We are no longer in the era of fighting the best in every decision. Now it's about corruption by the governing bodies, and boxers looking for fights that can generate a lot of money for them, regardless of who will be their opponent, it's all about hype.

For sure, just show up and let the fans be entertain a while and take the money check and enjoy another fortune, I think for sure that PAcman knows how to play with his cards, while interest still exist why not take advantage, it's a trend and same with Mayweather it will keeps your millions a sure deal to grab.

That's the very difference between them, Pacman excite his fans by fighting like a warrior and that after effect of those fights bring damages to his health, he needs to concern about it even doctors gives him medical certificate this kind of sports can still bring damages
even in a exhibitions.

How do you interpret this post of Errol Spence?

https://twitter.com/ErrolSpenceJr/status/1771264339447599546

Is he leaving PBC or Derrick James? Seems to be a lot of meaning with this kind of post. Maybe he is also looking for a new house. Let's see, what can we get from this cryptic message.

Not only that, he also involved himself in different crypto projects but it seems that all his crypto start-up was not successful so far.  Manny loves boxing, so any opportunity he found to fight in the ring, he will surely grab it since aside from getting money, his passion in boxing is being fulfilled.

I believe he has all these nutritionist and doctors around him, so I think there is no need to be concerned about Manny's health.  His doctor will not advise him to fight if he is not fit to fight so we should not worry ourselves about this matter.

This is an open statement and probably we can speculate that he is looking for a new promoter...  That is the only thing we can think of concerning Errol Spence and boxing.

His most recent tweet is a quote tweet simply stating “No” when asked if he is leaving PBC. There were other people asking about Derrick James but he didn’t answer that, so it could be he is looking for a new trainer. After his most recent loss I doubt promoters are jumping at the chance to sign him. PBC have some decent fighters at 154 and are paying him a lot so there’s not much of a reason to go to a new promoter.

Yeah, I think he will stick with PBC for now, and that is the best option for now. Matchroom doesn't have a solid welterweight to super welterweight and maybe Top Rank just have a fringe contender, that's it.

As for Derrick James as his trainer, I haven't seen him recently with Derrick and most likely his silence means that he might be shopping for a new trainer. It's just a question who fits his style and who's trainer can improved him against Crawford if ever they will have their rematch.

He's making money with PBC I'm also agree that he will stick with them, and without a title it's a tough call for him to change handlers, better to do that if ever he's thinking about it, win first and holds another belt/s maybe it will be a nice decision to make, but while you are still trying to bring that glory back staying with your current handler will give you that fighting chance to regain your position back, in terms of trainer maybe Derick silence is a key to specualte about that rumor post.

Maybe he's trying to shop around to find someone who can help him developed good fighting strategy either with Crawford or if not maybe to someone who can bring the hype back on his career.

I think it's normal though to switch trainer if the marriage is not working. I think Derrick James has been criticized during the fight for not giving Spence the correct advise during the fight. And perhaps Spence it as weakness of Derrick James. So I wouldn't be surprised if he get another solid trainer for him to prepare for a rematch. Same with AJ as he switches many times after his first lost to Andy Ruiz. Now look at what he did to Francis Ngannou. So for now it's perfect marriage for them. But if AJ losses against top boxers like Fury, he might look for another one. As for his contract with PBC, I do agree, there's no promotion that can give him the fight that he wanted. Maybe Eddie Hearn, but let's see.

I think it was Joshua that started this trend, when he lost he just look for new trainers. But then again, he is British fighter so he settled for Ben Davison and it was a success. The thing with Derrick James is that his fighters now are losing, Charlo and then Spence. And now that he also trains Ryan Garcia who has a fight with Haney and odds maker are putting his boy as the underdog.

But just the rest of you guys saw, Spence will not yet move out of PBC, well at least fighting Crawford for a rematch this year.

Derrick James has no champion in his gym at the moment. But he can put all his focus on Ryan Garcia. The problem though is that Ryan seems to be suffering from a mental illness and his fight with Haney can get cancelled anytime.

As for duck Spence, he is already successful in destroying Bud's 1 year. Crawford's turning 37 soon and once again he wasted another year to inactivity. He could've pursued a tune up at 154 when Spence activated the rematch clause but did not agree on the weight deal. Crawford already activated his right to become the WBO mandatory at 154 which means he could be facing the winner between WBO champ, Tszyu and Fondura.

He is still a former champion though, so he can still make fights under PBC. But it's hard to see whether he will stay at 147 lbs or move to 154 lbs. And it's like we are in the first quarter of month already and we don't know if he will rematch Crawford or not.

There is also news that Crawford is waiting for the Fundora vs Tsyzu winner. And if that happens this year then Crawford will be another champion at 154 lbs and maybe Spence will chase Crawford for that belt.

I saw this fight,

https://www.tapology.com/fightcenter/events/109506-valdez-vs-wilson

Specially Oscar Valdez vs Liam Wilson, although Wilson is 3:1 underdog in this fight, but I think this is going to be a war. Both fighters are bangers and doesn't hold up anything. I think this is going to be a war. Both are on a comeback trail and they know that their careers are on the line and whoever losses this fight might have to take a break in my opinion. Valdez is coming from a lost to Emmanuel Navarette, both of them actually lost to the champion.

And this is the video of the weigh-in:

129.6 - Wilson pounds and Valdez 129.7 pounds. Good to see that both make the weight without any problems.

This is going to be a great battle, this two doesn't back down from any challenge. It's going to be one of the best fights if they live up to the hype and both shows their warrior mentality.

Anyone bet on this fight?

^ Interesting as well is the fight in the women's division, Seniesa & Valle. This is for the undisputed minimum belt. Both women make the weight, Seniesa Estrada 104.2 lbs vs. Yokasta Valle 104.3 lbs.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9Z7KK9l_kdM

Here is the video where they exchanges not so pleasantries.

And as per the link given, both are in total shape.

In typical Valdez fashion the fight lived up to the hype and it was an exciting slugfest. Valdez with his experience proved to be the better fighter tonight, although he did have to take some damage. Valdez is champion once again, albeit an interim one, and will have the opportunity to make some intriguing matchups against some of the other belt holders. All the wars he’s been in have taken their toll but I think he still has enough to beat somebody like O’Shaquie Foster.

For Wilson, I can imagine the disappointment he feels. The last time he fought in Arizona the referee gave his opponent extra time to recover and this time around the fight was perhaps stopped prematurely. Wilson wasn’t showing much defense but Valdez was running out of gas and his punches were becoming less effective. With only a few seconds left in the round Wilson should have been given the opportunity to continue.

Yes, it was a war as what we have expected, and we all know that Valdez face is easily bloodied and this is what happens in this fight. But once he smells blood in round 7, he goes off and Wilson doesn't have the answer and the referee needs to stop the fight to save Wilson from further damage. So this is another fight that will go on typical Valdez fight, sure he it has taken another toll in his body, but a O’Shaquie Foster who is also a banger inside the ring will be a great fight. And now that Valdez has the interim belt, he has to defend it and looks like his motivation is back and we can see that he is all emotional post fight interview. Props to Wilson, but he feel short again in the US.

Valdez can still pull the trigger, although I think this slugfest is going to add that wear and tear to his body, but he looks solid and this is a comeback fight for him. And it's tailor fight for his style as I don't think that Wilson has the power in this fight. I mean it does look like that he is just touching up Valdez and no power behind it. Not sure if it is just me or others saw it as well.

It's the right stoppage from the referee in my opinion. Wilson is hugging Valdez at the end of the round to save himself from getting knock down. The referee saw that Wilson is not defending himself and again, on the brink of going into the canvass. Wilson didn't argue when the referee hug him to stop and it seems that his corner too is about to throw the towel.

129.6 - Wilson pounds and Valdez 129.7 pounds. Good to see that both make the weight without any problems.

This is going to be a great battle, this two doesn't back down from any challenge. It's going to be one of the best fights if they live up to the hype and both shows their warrior mentality.

He was very emotional as he comeback to the same venue where he was destroyed not just physically, nut mentally as well when he lost against Navarette. So the same thing happen, he was crying but it is the opposite as he won this time against a very though opponent in Wilson.

So that extends him time in this division and not thinking about retirement. Because he admit that after that devastating lost against Naverette, he contemplating of hanging his gloves. But this is a great performance from him and at least 1-3 good fight or a big lost would really make Oscar Valdez retire because of the wear and tear.
