And since the [Boxing] Tim Yszyu vs. Bakhram Murtazaliev IBF Junior Middleweight title thread is locked, I read that Tim Tszyu is considering this fight as his V or vengeance fight.

We all know what happened to him in the Fundora fight, it was bloody and he had a great chance to win however, that cut really bothered him and so he lost the fight. Now he is back on the trail and wanted to get his belt back and this is the fight that we wanted to show us that he sill deserves that one shot.

Quote
After his defeat in April by Sebastian Fundora, a cut on his face required 15 stitches and kept Tszyu out for nearly seven months.

The Australian, 29, is determined to prove that the scar doesn’t define him.

"You can see it's a little V – V for vengeance," he said.

https://www.boxingscene.com/v-vengeance-scarred-tim-tszyu-battle-hardened-date-with-bakhram-murtazaliev--186333

He is still very young though, so for sure, he can make another statement win against a very tough opponent in Bakhram Murtazaliev.

^^ Looking at the current odds,

Bakhram Murtazaliev is a huge underdog, almost 5:1, so this might be a cherry pick fight from Tim's camp. But we shouldn't be surprised, I mean he went into a war against Fundora and lost, and supposedly fight Vergil Ortiz but he was advice by his doctor not to fight and let his injuries fully heal. And with that, it's better for him to get a tune up fight, so as to recover himself, physically and mentality. They don't need to force him as he still very young and 154 seems to be fully loaded by now so it's good that they will take sometime and maybe if they win here, set up a huge fight for next year, Fundora or Crawford or whoever.

Right, Tim has been on a lot of great fights and his lost to Fundora was really a very big deal for him and his career and he should be the one facing Crawford, although the fight between Fundora vs Crawford is being work out as from what the last report is.

So he needed this fight and win impressively to get back into the action in the super welterweight division. He used to be a champion and now going to contend for a belt again. This will be his first fight after that Fundora lost, and I think being a huge favorite here, Tim might score a big win to recover that confidence back.

That's probably what we thought before, but it turned out he lost. I guess I won't overthink it this time. With those huge odds, I'm betting on the underdog, and if Tsyu wins this fight, I'll likely start backing him again.

Very hard to compare though, I mean Tim lost because of that huge gash on his forehead that really affected his performance. Maybe it will be different outcome if he didn't suffer that injury early on and both of them fighting till the last round.

But I guess this is some factors beyond the boxers control, and there could be times that it's good to bet on the underdog. So good luck for those who are going to bet on Murtazaliev. If Tim losses here, then he will go back to square one to become a contender again and a champion. Still has a lot of time on him though, at 29 years old, still not on his prime, he could recover if by chance he didn't win here.

Since we have said that Inoue is going to fight Same Goodman at the end of the year for his final bout at 122 lbs, Murodjon Akhmadaliev is trying to derail that fight by fighting it legally,

Quote
Former two-belt champion Murodjon ’s legal team is positioning for a battle as an October 29 IBF purse-bid process looms over the next fight for Japan’s undisputed super-bantamweight and four-division champion, Naoya Inoue.

As the World Boxing Association’s mandatory challenger to Inoue, 28-0 (25 KOs), Uzbekistan’s Akhmadaliev, 12-1 (9 KOs), argues he’s next in line in the rotation of mandatory challengers an undisputed champion must face – in front of the foe Inoue intends to fight next, IBF mandatory Sam Goodman of Australia.

https://www.boxingscene.com/murodjon-akhmadaliev-turning-up-legal-heat-on-naoya-inoue--186477

Murodjon Akhmadaliev has been trying to get a fight with Inoue for the longest time, although he has no more belt/s anymore, he is still the mandatory for the WBA belt that Inoue has. So if he doesn't want to fight him, WBA should stripped Inoue as he doesn't want to find his mandatory.

So let's see how it goes, I'm also confused as to way Inoue's camp doesn't want to fight Akhmadaliev. He is just one of those remaining boxers that Inoue has to face (besides Casimero), to say that he clean up that division for good.

^^ It's going to be very hard for Akhmadaliev though if his camp go this route in order to get a crack at Inoue. It's boxing politics at it's purest, so not sure if the judges will go on his side if ever they really go at this and go on litigation in order to force Inoue to fight him.

In any case, then it's easy for Inoue to just give up that WBA belt and then fight Sam Goodman at the end of the year. And then move up to featherweight next year. Obviously, they want Akhmadaliev to test himself against Inoue and try to beat the Monster but that is going to be a big task for him.

For me I do not see Inoue still very much interested on Akhmadaliev fight, and with that Akhmadaliev should just forget about it, just like Casimero, no matter what they do, Inoue will still not fight them, maybe they are high risk or some fight doesn't make any money for Inoue.

Let these two, Akhmadaliev and Inoue just make the best of out their career and not chase Inoue. And we have heard that Inoue is going up in weight already, and I don't think that this two fighters specially Casimero can go as high as 126 lbs.

Fresh news just came out that the IBF wants to force Beterbiev to fight the mandatory challenger Michael Eifert (does anyone even know who he is?), putting the potential rematch against Bivol in jeopardy:
https://talksport.com/boxing/2175966/artur-beterbiev-dmitry-bivol-rematch-ibf-michael-eifert/
https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/31148252/artur-beterbiev-dmitry-bivol-rematch-doubt-boxing/

Needless to say, fans are not happy with the IBF's decision. I wonder what Beterbiev will do next, I expect his team to ask the IBF to postpone the mandatory title defence, but if they don't agree, we might see Artur vacating the belt, similar to how Usyk has handled a similar situation.

Michael Eifert looks very inexperienced young (26) fighter from Germany with just 14 fights. This couldn't be a reason for him to merit this fight when he only has 5KOs out of these 14. It's always the IBF messing around with boxing politics. Beterbiev needs a few more fights to win it all. You wouldn't expect this man to win against Beterbiev.

Beterbiev could stay and fight, just postponed the immediate rematch. They can extend it to another 5 months or just vacate.

Maybe the IBF has it's own reason,  Michael Eifert is their mandatory, so they have all the right to tell their champion, Beterbiev to honor his mandatory defense. However, there is a looming rematch between Beterbiev and Bivol because we are not convince that Beterbiev beat Bivol in their fight. So I do agree, that if Beterbiev will prioritize the rematch, then he can just vacate the IBF belt. However, the fight will not be for the unified anymore as obviously it will only be 3 belts. But financially though, it will be good for Beterbiev to fight Bivol even if one belt is missing. And I think that will also be ok with Bivol camp. As long as they can have the rematch and then look for that victory, then everything will be smooth sailing. So let's see how Beterbiev will approach the order of IBF.

If Inoue choose not to fight it's easy for him to give the belt and find his way to fight another fighter there's no problem for him as his camps knew how to play with technicalities, though he also have that option to take if ever his camp decide to face whoever fighter that challenge him, but to protect his clean records and to make sure that his camp will earn more they just be wise choosing who's going to be his next fight.

It's obvious that it's going to be an easy fight for Inoue against Sam Goodman, although there is no technicalities as Sam Goodman is currently rank #1 in both IBF and WBO. However, so Akhmadaliev, who is rank #1 by WBA.

And that is the problem with being a unified champion, at some point you have to fulfilled those mandatories by different governing bodies, and if you can't, they are going to stripped you. Or if you might to give step aside money for not honoring it. Just like in Usyk and now Beterbiev. But here, I think he will still go with Sam Goodman and then maybe the WBA will strip him or relegated Akhmadaliev to champion or have their #1 and #2 fight for the belt.

So that could also happened here for Inoue, he doesn't want to fight his mandatory and so they can't do anything but to stripped him. But it doesn't bother him I guess, as he will just wanted to make his last fight before moving up another weight class to chase another belt and history.

He can choose that way as if he's aiming to move up and chase for another title on a different weight, or he can take that route to make sure that he can make more money instead of taking that mandatory, I guess both money and unwillingness to follow whatever the organization is dictating his camp, for sure they know what they are doing and they will take more cuts while enjoying his fame, not being bothered to take his mandatory fight as he can simply bring his belt and move up for another title chase.

Let see what will be the update about this and what direction he will go and who's going to be his next challenger or who will be the fighter that he'll challenge from the next division that he will take.

Tim Tszyu did not look great tonight as he was dropped 4 times and stopped in the third round. He might still be suffering the effects of that war with Fundora. Tszyu’s defense has always been poor and eventually he was going to pay for it. I think his career may have already peaked and it will be difficult for him to be champion again. He can still be an exciting fighter who always tries to make it a slugfest, but to have that style you need a good chin. Without good punch resistance, his remaining career will be very short.

Yeah, probably that first knock down, he saw the ghost of the past as you can see in his eyes. So congrats to those who bet on the underdog here, Murtazaliev looks bigger and punch harder as well. We should give Tim his props though, he has heart but it's not enough to win as he punch doesn't have that power behind. And I think this could be the start for Tim to be another gate keeper as he really hasn't recover from the Fundora fight.

And you don't hook with a hooker, so Tim's learn that the hard way, as 2 of the 4 knock downs came from the left hook. It was short but fast, so it has a lot of power behind. So Murtazaliev name are in the mix right now in this division. Fundora vs Crawford looming fight, and the winner could get Murtazaliev next. Tim should re-group first and better to have a tune up fight first, but I do not see him getting back his old glory at 154 lbs.

Tim should re-group first and better to have a tune up fight first, but I do not see him getting back his old glory at 154 lbs.

I think his career is nearing its end. From the start, I never really believed in this fighter, always thought he was overrated, and I wasn’t wrong. Two fights where he was the heavy favorite, and he lost badly, especially this one. Bettors should be celebrating now, those who backed Murtazaliev as a huge underdog. What were the odds for him to win by TKO/KO? Anyone remember?

^^ It's going to be very hard for Akhmadaliev though if his camp go this route in order to get a crack at Inoue. It's boxing politics at it's purest, so not sure if the judges will go on his side if ever they really go at this and go on litigation in order to force Inoue to fight him.

In any case, then it's easy for Inoue to just give up that WBA belt and then fight Sam Goodman at the end of the year. And then move up to featherweight next year. Obviously, they want Akhmadaliev to test himself against Inoue and try to beat the Monster but that is going to be a big task for him.
It seems that Inoue will not avoid the fight, we can see how Bob Arum said that the fight against Sam Goodman will be held on December 24th and I think this will really be big fight in this division.
This fight is at stake all the titles that Inoue has and of course he can do his best as in some previous fights even though Sam Goodman will also try to get all the undisputed super bantamweight titles that Inoue has.
This is not an record that clean ones and has been obtained so far but also to continue his better career, even though he has got everything well and got the nickname of an undefeated monster but avoiding fight will only make his reputation bad.
He has to do it and whatever the result must remain focused with the aim of moving up to higher division, defending is not good thing because he has got everything in the super bantamweight.

Yeah, he did enjoy his career at 154 lbs, and even won a title, he could be overrated though as most of his wins are in his native Australia. But when he started to fight in US, he could have been exposed. But the fight with Fundora really left a big mark on him, not just physically, but psychology as well. That's why in the first knockdown, you can see in his impression of his face especially in his eyes that somewhat the ghost of that past haunts him.

And then it was over from that as he was still on wobbly legs and don't know what to do, on how to survived but he just go toe to toe which is very wrong. Maybe he can still fight at his weight class just for the paycheck itself. But first, he should have a tune up fight to have his confidence.
