I understand that gambling addiction is an extremely severe topic but these people have to understand that the universe doesn't revolve around them. If the emails really were temping it's in his best interest to just either unsubscribe manually or block their address entirely.

That alone IS PROGRESS towards curing problem gambling. Reject the convenience and any temptations that is dragging you back in...

Unsubscribing or ignoring is the right thing to do, this is part of the challenge of reforming or healing yourself, if you can fight the temptation then you are not dedicated to healing yourself from gambling addiction, Stake should address this issue it will have a bad effect and many players will have a second thought of playing more on Stake.com, especially those who are thinking of using the exclusion feature.

Let me explain the situation im in with Stake.com,
I am a recovering gambling addict with an account at Stake due to problem gambling.

This account has been closed for a long time and they still kept spamming me with promotional and bonus emails, even though they were fully aware of my problems.

I have contacted live support and the legal department, and they have admitted their was a error in their database allowing to send promotional emails to problem gamblers, they have let me know they have fixed it after my messages.



Unfortunately Stake is not taking any responsibility regarding my issue and will blame me for their mistakes.

I hope there is someone noticing the pain Stake is causing to some of the problem gamblers out there, and I still hope Stake will solve this issue with me.



In my opinion, in this situation, the online casino Stake.com did not commit illegal actions. 

Let's say an online casino has sent you promotional emails.  But you had the opportunity to mark these mailings as spam.  This will prevent them from being read. 

This action on your part will help strengthen your psychological attitude towards dealing with gambling addiction.  A healthy person does things.  A sick person, on the contrary, enjoys his helplessness.  It is in the struggle against temptations that a person strengthens character and will. 

Thus, Stake.com did not harm you, but on the contrary brought closer the moment of your final recovery. 

I wish you that you will finally get rid of gambling addiction.  I wish you optimism, positive emotions and complete recovery!

Stake knows very well that they shouldn't have done that to. And its getting clearer and clearer. First they admitted their mistake and blamed their servers. However now they are probably aware I have made a complaint and they start telling lies. I can 100% proof that their last statement made to me is a complete lie. This was already shared with the parties that accepted my complaint. Im ready to post more proof here if the complaint process is unsuccesfull, but for now I will wait with this.

You can unsubscribe from email. Then no promotional messages will come in your email. If you want to cover your losses then you have to be maintained some rules. 1) Silect some favourite team and wait for their lossing. Example Man city is one of the favourite. Wait for lossing. After lossing a game then stake double it's next game. Maximum time you will win the match after lossing....

Based on your own experience, you can overcome gambling addiction with another addiction.  The second addiction will be weaker than the first, and you can easily cope with it. 

Let me give you an example. 

Several years ago I overcame my addiction to roulette by playing computer games (strategies).  Instead of visiting casinos, I commanded armies and built empires.  This is a very fun process! 

However, despite my new hobby for computer games, I did not develop a new gambling addiction. 

I realized that the world is diverse.  There are a lot of interesting things in it.

I can fully agree with you on this. But basically I already quit for some time. I think somewhere deep in your mind the gambling addiction will always be stored, and can be triggered to be present again, any time. I didn't expect myself to get a relapse, it just happened. Hard to explain.

Now coming back to your case, I think while they should not send you emails, you can easily block their emails which is what their support person said. But yeah it's a mistake on their part to send promotional emails to someone who is addicted and informed them.

On a serious note, I feel bad how someone can be this addicted that they know it's a problem but can't resists Undecided.

I think it's just a casino feature and not related to the license requirement. Otherwise, all gambling sites would implement this kind of thing.
Been thinking that it's the casinos' way of helping the addicted gamblers to be able to control themselves, but in general, all they care is to increase their profit as that is what businesses are supposed to do.

first and foremost, casinos will always think of their business and their survival. so it is up to the individual himself how he should handle himself when it comes to gambling. it is not really surprising if they will find ways how to reach out their players. how many lives have ruined owed to gambling? and yet, casinos still exist. gambling platforms can give their warning about responsible gambling but the final action is still on the player himself. how determined he is not to be tempted by these games? the responsibility is on the user himself not from the casino. he should not expect any help from the casino because it is his own will why he is accessing the casino.

As others said, you should block them from mailing on your side too. By no means I am trying to make fun of the addiction but if you possibly can, take advantage of the no deposit bonuses and recover some loss. But then again, your addiction is on a very high side so it may lure you into gambling so avoid doing that.

Mate, are you actually going to give predictions and betting strategies to a gambling addict who is seeking help? That's a very bad idea. Remember, no matter what strategy you apply there is a house edge (huge in sports) and it's impossible to beat that edge as a player

I even received a lot of emails from different casinos and it never bothered me coz I don't mind those promotional emails I just read and ignore them, that's it. Thus it looks interesting and important to us? I don't think so. Coz even I was in gambling addiction still, I don't make myself check all of them.
May their support system be slow, it really feels bad for us users seeking immediate action. But that was the case, well, it is up to us to make a deal of these emails, I think you don't mind it and unsubscribe them. Then it was over.

I even received a lot of emails from different casinos and it never bothered me coz I don't mind those promotional emails I just read and ignore them, that's it. Thus it looks interesting and important to us? I don't think so. Coz even I was in gambling addiction still, I don't make myself check all of them.
May their support system be slow, it really feels bad for us users seeking immediate action. But that was the case, well, it is up to us to make a deal of these emails, I think you don't mind it and unsubscribe them. Then it was over.
Maybe your addiction is not bad enough compared to OP, it seems like he doesn't want to receive any news about gambling but actually, it was him who did not figure out how to unsubscribe it. For a person having a severe gambling addiction, every good information that is related to gambling wouldn't do good for him, I mean he might be in the process of recovering then suddenly receives some promotional email, that will not help for a speedy process.

I know Stake.com has it as well, but if they still sent you some emails even if you opt out of those promotional emails here and there, then perhaps you can make a case for it and file the necessary complaint.

But I do hope this gets resolved in a peaceful manner. No one, especially people who are trying to recover from their gambling addiction, should ever be lured again to something they are trying to turn their backs on for the betterment of themselves and their well-being.

Or maybe you can just block them on your end, too, just for your peace of mind and for you to not get tempted to play again.

Addiction could really fucked up you hard if you arent serious on quitting on it thats why it would be more worth if you do mind off on how to get rid and dont mind much on the amount that you had deposited.

Yes, Stake does have some mistake on here but considering on how many players that they do have then there might be some accidental miss on such scenario but still it is on someones
own action and personal will whether if he's really serious on quitting or stopping gambling temporarily then further actions like deposits shouldnt really be done.

Stake shouldn't have sent you those emails, that is true. But ultimately, you decide what path you will take. Apparently, you aren't strong enough to make that decision yourself. It was just a matter of time before you would slip up. If it wasn't due to an email sent by Stake, it could be because of a billboard you see in your town, an ad on TV, or an offer somewhere online. Seeking professional help is the right way to go about it. That together with the help of those close to you can make a change.

Hope you get those personal issues sorted out and you become a stronger person who knows how to say no.

Thats the reason I have writed myself in in the new register we have. Im basically banned from every online casino.

Stake does not work with this register sadly. In my opinion Stake really has to tighten their responsibile gambling. Maybe perform KYC checks upon depositing instead of letting them play and on a big win start asking for KYC.

Those emails Stake sent me really shouldn't have been sent out to me. I hope a representative will jump on this thread soon to help solve the issue, since their support is only making things worse.

I am going to agree with that as even you are not active on their site, you were still receiving emails from them. I have that experience, a little bit disappointing seeing those emails flooded in our inbox and only the best thing to do is block them. But I think we don't be angry why they keep sending us as they also think that we also need new updates, especially promo updates. We only need to have their support team know that we don't need these things and explain why?
