The favorite team in this FIFA world cup, Argentina under the captaincy of magical Lionel Messi who used everything possible to achieved goals in final game to won the FIFA world cup title for the third time. Many people lost their hope on Argentina until they beat defending champions France through penalty shootout. Lionel Messi prove it again to Mpappe that he still remain the senior man in the FIFA world cup competition.

Don't put it as if mbappe was incompetent  or his performance was not good enough.  France tried very well , Argentina already had 2 goals when France had scored none. It was as if no hope for France but France was still able to equalize the game 3:3 later on. Luck was not on the side of France to win.

It is the luck of Argentina from the beginning and that is why they are able to get two goals against France. France really play very well and Mbappe did well to ensure getting the cup but this is difficult. France played without benzema from beginning but he was needed at the final match with Argentina because it is strong opponent.

Congratulations to Argentina on their victory yesterday. Messi received the award for best player, but other than that, there wasn't anything noteworthy. I was overcome with emotion when I saw everyone crying and gazing at D maria because it was their generation's final chance to win the trophy. Yesterday's match was one of the most entertaining World Cup games I've ever seen because it was clear that both teams had worked incredibly hard to win the trophy. mbappe might be the next goat we hope been the highest goal scorer.

I agree with yesterday's game was ,for me too, one of the best games of all World Cup games. Even though first 70-80 minutes were not so adventurous, the remaining of the game was superb. It was indeed immensely emotional for Di Maria and Argentina all together, the country needed this win. And Di Maria scored yet again in an important moment. He is also one of the legendary players of all time in my opinion. Just plain successful.

When Argentina was defeated by the Saudis a month ago, some people said: "This is why Messi will not be the greatest in the world. Messi is nothing outside of Barcelona. Messi is made by Xavi and Iniesta. Messi will never be a Maradona.", stuff like that. Even though I agreed with that argument little bit, Argentina and Messi proved me and these people wrong. Very impressive of Argentina. Yet, I am almost sure they can't repeat this in the next World Cup. Their roster didn't seem so much promising for the future.

I'll tell you my opinion, at the end of the match you could see how the referee was trying to help the French team, but Argentina was so assertive that it led to its logical conclusion, to their victory. It was clear how difficult it was psychologically for the Argentine players, they seemed to feel the burden of responsibility. It was a good final, and the strongest won. Mbappe will also become a football legend, he is a very big talent and he still has his whole career ahead of him!

This is actually a ridiculous claim that the referee was on the side of France towards the end. The referee might have made some few bad calls but he did well in that game. The luckiest team that benefitted from this bad calls was Argentina, the foul on Marcus thuram in the ending minutes of the regular time was a clear penalty because there was contact from Romero. Had VAR intervened it would have been given. Overall the referee had a decent game. Argentina were throwing there bodies alot into the game which made him gave fouls to France at the ending of the game.

My curiosity is why didn't VAR intervene on penalty calls and or the wrong ones given almost throughout the knockout stages. Did FIFA Scrapped it from that moment?

I realized there was no VAR used for the final as well, I watched the whole game aside from a few toilet breaks so if I am not wrong there was absolutely no VAR at all, and considering this was the world cup finals, you would expect ref to watch the VAR a lot more during the penalties, if I am not wrong we had like 3 penalties just during the game right?

This means that you would at least expect one of them to be checked. In any case, I believe ref was good enough and the game was great, as someone who is neither Argentinian nor French, I could say it's not going to be that much of a trouble for me to watch one or the other win, so the game itself was what I cared about and it was superb game.

Even if I just watched the live stream and used VPN just to watch the match, it was all worth it even if I know I'm a little delayed. Plus, I won something nice from this FWC Finals for predicting most of the matches from the knockout phase up to the Finals match, I just missed the free bets that were organized in this board, but I may have a chance to get that one I guess. Maybe France's overall performance would have been better if these attacking star players had performed well.

On the other hand, Argentina's overall performance was good. They performed well as a team. Every player in the team has tried their best to perform well in their place. This is why they became champions.

Argentina really dominated from the start of the first half, they played very aggressively. in fact, France was unable to offset the game from Argentina in the first half. in the first round, Ball possession was controlled by Argentina with 59%. they had 6 total shots, 3 shots on target, 3 shots off target. while France, really difficult to keep up with the game from Argentina. France's main weakness is their over-reliance on Mbappe. There is no doubt that Mbappe is a great player. But it is very risky when the team becomes dependent on a certain player. The France team is becoming badly dependent on Mbappe. And I agree with you that the era of Giroud, Griezmann and Benzema is over. If France cannot find suitable replacements for these three players, they will become even more reliant on Mbappe. Mbappe is a great player no doubt, but relying on the performance of just one player is risky. I doubt if France can do well in the next World Cup. Several veteran players will retire. And without a worthy replacement, France's performance will weaken.

It was a great final match. It was like a feature film looking for its main hero. Messi and Mbappe competed to be the hero of the night, but Messi was the winner. France never managed to take the lead in the match. If they had the scoring advantage once, I think they could have won the match. The last final match was won out of skills and experience of the players that took the penalties, and the France team made the selection having in mind that there is the possibility that their young players may not have the confidence to face the whole world to play such a global penalty. But on a general note the both teams are good in the finals match but just that the gods of soccer was with Argentina, that was why the won the cup after an intense 100+ minutes of play and resulting into penalty shootout that made Argentina to become the world cup winner for this year's.

Really? you have to talk to the French team then because I've seen some of them blame the referee that he was biased towards Argentina. This is just a dumb explanation by them because without his penalty kick in the second half, France would still be losing 2-0.

I think he did great, although he could've given a few more cards in this match because both teams were playing rather dirty. There was a lot of pushing and pulling between players. At least once it looked like they were going to start fighting.

That said, Argentina acted like assholes after the win, so maybe they didn't deserve it?
