I agree with your comment about the mistakes in the defense of the USA football team. Especially, the players playing on the left wing of the USA football team were very ineffective today. The Netherlands made many attacks from this region and scored their goals from this region. But if Australia managed to carry the game to penalty shoot-outs then things could have been really interesting. I will be waiting for Argentina to be victorious against Netherlands also. Argentina have a better attacking line on paper. Most probably, we can watch a goal duel there. Both teams to score and Argentina win are nice choices for this game I think.

I agree, that is the kind of mistake I could accept at the amateur level but not on a world cup, this is supposed to be the tournament that brings the best of the world to compete for the glory and the goalkeeper of Australia makes that mistake? While they did their best and there was a lapse of time in which they put Argentina in some trouble, especially near the end of the game, the truth is that a team that makes such a mistake does not deserve to move to the next round no matter how good they are.

It is true that the result of the match could have been different If  that goal wasn't happen. I also initially thought it was just a goalkeeper's mistake but now I don't just blame the goalkeeper for that goal because I think their defenders were also at fault, there were already a few Argentinian players but he took a the risk to pass goal keeper. There is no doubt about good performance and quality game from Australia as most of the time they were dominating in this game, but luck was not with them just because of this Argentina able to win this match and now qualify for the quarterfinal of this game against the Netherlands but things now really going to test for them because they are going to face quality team which is also at their best for this spot and now want to end in last four which is surely not easy for the both teams.

Australia were having good performance and quality game, but things were not in their favour, so they lost against Argentina and now their campaign is also ended with this result of 2 - 1 but still they need to improve their quality for having better results in next world cup which is going to play into three countries with 48 teams and surely this is going to be one of the best event in soccer history.
