In my country all residents who have a TV must pay a subscription for the national television. It's mandatory by law. They will broadcast all national team's matches and other interesting matches. It has been like that since I remember.

In my country, previously we used to have such a system. Private sports channels were forced to share the live content with the national broadcaster (and that too without any payment). The only thing that the private channels got in return is that all the advertisements that are shown by them need to be shown by the national TV as well. But after a while the private channels complained, since they were spending such large amounts to get exclusive access to the live content, and therefore this arrangement was cancelled.

Yeah, this kind of agreement doesn't make sense because why should anyone have to pay a subscription fee if they are not watching a national TV program? But unfortunately where I come from people don't have a choice but to pay for the national TV subscription.

Yes, many national channels have the rights. But there's also private companies, like beIN Sports, etc, so it's a bit of a mix. Some countries will get full free access while others will have to pay.

Adultery is punishable by death in Qatar (same with homosexuality as well). Theoretically any of the unmarried couples can be arrested and sentenced to death. However, this law is not very strictly implemented, especially for Western tourists. However, such couples may face difficulties, in case they need to access medical services or health insurance. A few years back, one woman was arrested after she got pregnant, since she was not married at that time. Anyway, all I am saying is that Westerners need to be careful while being in Qatar.

I think this is just a matter of western culture that is used to their free life, if they want to be respected as tourists then there is nothing wrong with complying with the policies that exist in that country, what's more, that country that we know is a Muslim country that adheres to its religion. , why is there a problem when it is clear that they know that Qatar is a country with a population of almost 100% Muslims, so why not respect the procedures that have been in place for a long time, even though the World Cup was held there at least we can understand what the government is doing , I support the policy of Qatar which does not allow the rainbow flag to be flown or promote it and adultery in the State of Qatar, because every country has the right to its own country..

I love this all as big teams and players are doing things like this but here we have a big issue who cares in a world where money is power, and they can do things with this even many Western countries are also feeling not good about them and their record in Human rights and other things, but they are still doing business and have contracts specially few months back we have a big deal which was supposed to be not done but still done, and now Newcastle United is under an Arab business which is famous for his mafia and target killings and most chances he is also going to be King of Kingdom Saudi Arab.

Have been habit in my country watching World Cup match have to purchase, this time I have purchase $5 each month to watch World Cup match and not allowed to watch together at public place without get legal from broadcast. Unique what happen in my country to watch World Cup and seems not excited if have to watch alone. Not unusual with World Cup match at June until July in this season because held at end November and in my country have rainy season, almost late at night each match of World Cup depend with my country and difference if World Cup held at European country because we can watch on enjoying time.

But some events have particular behaviors associated with them. For example the World Cup is associated with drinking alcohol, even one of the sponsors is a beer brand. Bringing them to a country where those behaviors are illegal is a bit of a problem.

For example, I don't think it would be a good idea to host the WorldPride in Qatar where homosexuality is against the law. What if they just choose to do it there just like FIFA did with the world cup?, it's just asking for trouble.

If they cared about human rights so much, then the tournament would have never been hosted by Qatar. The decision to grant Qatar hosting rights for 2022 World Cup will be like a permanent blot in the history of FIFA. And if you guys remember, back in 2010 Qatar won the bidding by bribing a number of the delegates from Asia, Africa and Oceania. And even when it was revealed that Qatar engaged in bribing the FIFA refused to take any action against them. I don't think it's about imposing their beliefs on others, but about respecting local laws and cultures. Many people still have misconceptions about visiting countries with laws that you don't agree with, but it really isn't that complicated. Just follow the law and treat the culture with respect just as you would in any other country.

Qatar is an Islamic country, and its laws are based on sharia which prohibits public displays of affection between gay or unmarried couples. But, even though these activities are prohibited in Qatar, it doesn't mean that LGBT people and unmarried couples can't travel there. They just need to be discreet when they're in Qatar. The same applies to the issue of alcohol, drugs or how you behave and dress in public. As with anywhere, one should research a country you're visiting to determine what's appropriate behavior and dress. Hopefully, by doing so, there will be less conflict and cultural misunderstanding.

Different regions in the world have different beliefs and cultures.

You cannot go to them and violate their beliefs and do the opposite of their culture.

If you feel contained if you go to watch the WC, if you feel like are not given enough freedom do to whatever you do in your region, just don't go man; it's as simple as that.

And if you think watching the game is more important, you have to go, you must obey their beliefs in their region and obey their rules.
