We agree, as long as the rules do not harm football fans, especially for those who attend the World Cup which will be held, there will be no problem.
Moreover, the Qatari government has relaxed the rules related to alcohol consumption during the World Cup, although with some conditions that are its provisions.
Qatar is the first country hosting the World Cup which is a Muslim country. of course it will have an impact on the strict circulation of alcoholic beverages which are forbidden for Muslims. however, the problem has been resolved with the easing agreed by the organizers.

The spectators will be allowed to drink alcohol three hours before kick-off and one hour after the final whistle, I think this is a win win solution.

The organizers have considered this, and of course it is adjusted to the conditions of the country where the World Cup is currently being held. Hopefully this can be accepted by all parties including football fans, and it should be.

Realistically, I really don't believe that any police in the world, and even the one in Qatar, would be able to control thousands of fans from many countries around the world, and check what exactly they drink from a bottle, water or maybe alcohol? 
It's simply an impossible mission and it is good that the organizers in Qatar realized this and adapted their very strict rules for the world championship.

I would be very very careful with such an assessment. When you drink a beer or anything else in California public, it costs you 200 bucks or so. Should the police catch you drinking alcohol in Qatar at a time and in a place that was not part of the agreement they now published, I am not entirely sure how that will end. They will probably be less strict with tourists especially because it is also so much about politics and public reputation, but if you ask me I prefer to get caught by the police in California over getting caught by the police in Qatar.

If I were a tourist in Qatar I would definitely avoid getting wasted and lose control in the slightest. It could even be a stupid sentence with no bad intentions that gets you into very tough and serious trouble. A sentence is not even meant the way and rather represents a typical saying could get you into trouble. I would suggest everyone to be more careful than elsewhere.

Furthermore, even if people themselves aren't drinking, they must pay attention to what their companions are doing, because if the police spots a friend of you doing something illegal, they can punish the entire group. That was already said weeks or a month ago, can't remember exactly, and it looks a really important detail to remember.

Tourists, especially the ones from Europe are seen as wealthy individuals, so I don't doubt some shady officers may try to use the local laws and their authority to earn extra cash through bribery. You are totally right by pointing out tourists should do their best to avoid any kind of issues in foreign lands.

Yeah, pretty much. We now have to just wait and see what happens.

Interestingly in the article they're suggesting even Peru could qualify given an scenario where they don't give a 3 - 0 victory to the opposing team. I don't think I've ever seen that sanction, but I guess there are many open ends still.

The drama has started even before the official kickoff of the tournament. If Ecuador is disqualified, then who will replace them? Peru, Chile or Colombia? There is some confusion related to this. Peru is the team that finished at the 5th place (and they lost the playoff to Australia). Colombia is in 6th and Chile is in 7th position. IMO, if Ecuador gets suspended, then the slot should be awarded to Italy, since they are the highest ranking team among all those who have failed to qualify to Qatar 2022. CONMEBOL doesn't deserve 4 slots anyway, if the member nations fight among each other like this.

This case is one I have been aware for a very long time and I think FIFA at the time had already decided that this was not a big issue, as it is customary with them, I wonder what has happened that it has brought this issue back to the table that now they need to take an urgent decision, personally based on what I know I think Ecuador should be disqualified from the World Cup, but since we are talking about FIFA I'm not so sure this is something that will actually happen.

The shocking confession by Byron Castillo to using a fake birth certificate was reported by Sportsmail. I also agree with your opinion. Qatar 2022 World Cup in danger of being canceled for Ecuador. As a result of Ecuador being eliminated and forfeiting all its games, Chile moves up to fourth place in the South American qualifying round. When things are planned and managed without flaws it is possible to overcome the unexpected problems that arise. There is very low chances of some problems, because the requirements were the tickets and the security check. Only the audience with ticket will be allowed after security check. I don't think there will be a problem at the Ecuador.  Even if Chile objects, I think nothing will change.  Fifa has already openly denied this application.  It is now almost guaranteed that they will take part in the tournament.  One of the teams I want to have successful matches in the tournament is Ecuador.

Hopefully now this scandal will be put to an end. I was sad to see the Peru football association siding with Chile and joining the appeal process. Appeals committee has decided in favor of Ecuador. Chile and Peru should have backed out by now, but they have decided to take this to the next stage. Chilean officials are saying that they will take this matter to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS). I am not sure about this. Can the CAS force FIFA to suspend Ecuador? If that is the case, then how can we say that FIFA is an autonomous body?

Sent a strong message around the world that FIFA is so crocked to allow nations to cheat at the World Cup level.

You have a good list of candidates for the title but somehow I don't think Portugal will be able to go that far in the future, I personally see that England might just suffer the same fate as last Euro 2020 which was only runner up or maybe even lower later , for the Qatar world cup, I believe more that the young Spanish squad will be able to talk a lot later because so far the performance of Spain which is filled with the majority of young players looks quite potential, while for the championship of course Brazil and Germany are my choices to enter the final.

The expectation over the team keeps varying with time. For now it is Germany to win. Other than Germany Brazil is in the order next to Germany. Portugal is expected to play good, but the dependence over individual player won't succeed all the time. England have got fair chance, but it had won in the 1966 world cup and it is the only title. Compared to those days, now the teams have got great improvement which makes every match more competing.

Although Portugal as speculated will go far, I don't think they have as much quality as the Spanish, Brazilian or French sides. So many young players in current major leagues around the world come from these region and play fantastic football at the moment. Unless injuries or cases such as is the case of Ecuador right now, it would be tough to win sides packed with these stars.
