And in my opinion cockfighting cannot be eradicated from their traditional entertainment. Even if the government bans online cockfighting, it will move to the back of the neighborhoods where the authorities simply can't get into. In my opinion, it's a battle against windmills.

You got it right, it's more than a tradition I say. A lot of people here in the Philippines fond of having cockfighting roosters in their backyards, even at a young age you can see the fondness of it. Neighborhood cockfights, "tupada", derby tournament, you name it, they love these kind of stuffs. Not to get far, even my father is on that list though he regularly do it anymore unlike before.

the government's priority is its people, if cockfighting can bring greater destruction to its people for me it should be banned. if many people fall into poverty because of gambling, then this will also be a problem for the government. speaking the state income is very large in gambling, but the government has to sacrifice the lives of its people. even though there are strict rules made by the government if the people don't care and keep gambling at the expense of everything this will be in vain. the government must take a firm stance against gambling which can have fatal consequences for the economy of its people.

Agreed on this but on this case cock is involved, The common reason of gamblers that love cock fighting is chicken is butchered and sell to the market so involving them in gambling is not wrong since they are destined to butchered. If thats the case if a newly President would be elected then expect that this bill or law would neither be changed or would really be pushed through and since leaders would really be having different input or perception

They are not the same chicken bro but they are the same breed. All market chickens can be both Hen and Rooster. It's their capability to lay eggs that differs. AND HUGE NO. Cockfighters would never just sell their chickens after a loss. They either make them more better for the future fight, or just serve it to their family for dinner.

It hurts to see your pet being put to life and death situation.  Many countries had banned cockfighting because it is obviously an act of cruelty to animals, it is a blood sport.  It is ok if they don't put metal spurs to the cocks' natural spurs[3] and let them fight normally until one runs, but instead, people do it to increase entertainment, which often results in the death of one or both participating roosters.  Even though the Government is earning money from its tax, I am inclined to the idea of not only banning the e-Sabong (online cockfight) but the cockfight all in all.

I doubt about banning the offline cockfighting since there's already a regulations for them and they can operate legally as long as they follow that regulations.

I totally agree with you here. In general i would say that i am really not one of those snowflakes that wants to ban anything or wants everyone to stop eating meat or stuff like that but i really have a soft spot for animals and i just think they should be treated well and only be killed if it is necessary (for example to produce food). I know that those cocks are treated and fed pretty well as soon as they are alive but that does not change the fact that their owners still let them fight to the death. If i remember correctly than in a lot of cases they even replace their normal spur with knives to make the fight even bloodier. So i would be happy if all cock fighting would be banned.
