I don't see any team stopping Manchester City from winning back the Champions League.

I agree with you, the competition this season seems particularly weak. Real don’t look anywhere near as good as recent years, Barcelona are a pale shadow of what they once were. Bayern are getting dominated by Leverkusen in the Bundesliga. PSG aren’t as strong as a few years ago, although with Mbappe they always have a small chance.

Maybe the only thing that could stop Man City is a pulsating 1/4 final or semi final over 2 legs against Arsenal. Ironically that’d work out well for Liverpool in the PL, both teams would be exhausted from a two legged affair against each other. Maybe we could stealth ninja to the PL title in that scenario as they would have their eyes on the CL.

I was undecided which of the two matches Real Madrid vs Leipzig and Dortmund vs PSV I should play for a draw. I decided to dedicate all the stakes to the Dortmund match, thinking that the Dortmund match would be closer. I hope I don't regret it because I could have made 5 stakes for both matches. This is obviously my mistake, if I pass this week empty, it seems like the gap will widen. I honestly think the Dortmund -PSV match will end 1-1 but a possible red card could change everything.

Dortmund is clearly the favorite in this game and you have made the right choice as I was in doubt Real or Barcelona and got for Real which left me empty handed for the first time in Pot B and now is extremely difficult to recover for a prize spot in that Pot.This was totally unexpected as only person in the pool had predicted against Real Madrid showing that everybody was expecting an easy Real Madrid win yesterday.

I was predicting a draw for Real Madrid, but I thought that the Dortmund match was more likely to end in a draw. Real already had the advantage with the away win, so it was safe to say that they would have a hard time winning this match. I hope that the Dortmund-PSV match will end in a draw, otherwise this week will be another empty one for me. I expect the game to go to extra time and Dortmund to win, let's see what happens.

This time it wasn't because I forgot, it was because I didn't have the availability to do it. I will try not to fail the next round.

Well, I usually try to avoid doing everything on the last day. The problem was the lack of time in the last few weeks, and the limited access to the internet, which meant that the opportunity to participate did not arise.

I find it difficult to achieve points, to win something. But, I will try until the end.

I was confident in PSG and I'm glad that I guessed the correct score. I wrote in another topic and now I also think that the bookmakers made a mistake with the quotes in this case, considering Sociedad to be the favorite.
In the Bayern - Lazio game I predicted 3-1 in favor of Bayern (although in Pot B I picked Lazio as all-in), and I was close, but damn Lazio couldn't score a single goal (although they had a couple of good chances).

PSG was surely the favorite in my opinion too, but they had a decent lead from the 1st game so I thought that they will play a boring draw.
The issue with PSG is that their league is weak, so they don't have to preserve energy like most other clubs do. Look at City - they have Liverpool for the weekend and are without 5+ starters whereas PSG was fired up for the game which I did not take into account.

The fact that Ligue 1 is weak plays against PSG when they play with serious teams (it is difficult to be in maximum focus after you have been playing with weaklings all season) and plays in favor of PSG when they play with average teams - as you said they have no need to save energy + they have been waiting all season for these very important games, so a draw is not what they are aiming for, no matter what the result of the first game is.
In general, I see that the majority did not agree with the opinion of the bookmakers (although Sociedad was a purely nominal favorite with a slight advantage) and chose PSG. It's a pity  I thought here to score points "against everyone".

It looks like it is going well for you as long as you are just 3 points away from 3rd place which is me.I think 3 points is nothing and can be taken very easily but it needs to be taken fast as the number of games will be on the decrease until the last game of the final match of Champions League.Last season I was in a similar situation like your and I only missed the prize spot for just 1 point,this time though chances are high we can both make it to prize spots if we keep finding the normal results and we don't see any massive surprise result like Real yesterday,they were really ugly to watch yesterday night.

They played awful boring match and they cant expect to win Champions League in this way, but they ruined my predictions and I am very pissed on them because of that!  
We are entering the final stages of Champions League and it is going to be harder to find high odds that bring most points but I still hope to catch some in next rounds.

Matchday 9 will be the QF.
Matchday 10 will be SF legs + Final.

This is mainly because odds won't be easily available for all 2nd leg and final games at the start of MDs.

Don't know about their home advantage, but if am to base my prediction based on how they played in the first leg.. Barcelona will certainly be favourites to win this match and with the 12 player on their side I don't see it's supporters turning their backs on their team...it's the champions league we talking about!!! Only problem about this game is that first leg was a draw and 2nd leg wouldn't be any different as this looks like one of those games that could be a boredraw but will lean on Barca going through...

On the other hand, it could tempt many more to try for monster odds and further entrench the top guys in the safety zone. But yes, I overlooked the situation where odds aren't available for second legs and the final by the time we issue submissions. Just trying to minimise the work to do calculating scores without tweaking the template too much.

Yeah, I didn't foresee the problem of odds not being available at the start of matchday, my bad, but I'm still thinking 10 stakes per Matchday = 20 stakes left. I'll probably put in more creative, riskier markets other than 1x2. But like you say, will be difficult to pick anything from return games, or even from the final (as that's lumped with the Semifinals).

Perhaps the final will just be an outright selection on MD10. Or I make up some odds for 2nd leg, final games, but add some "buway bu-oost extra" on top to make them attractive.

We introduce a Matchday 11 just for the final. Allow people the chance to save stakes from MD9 and MD10, to use them up on MD11. One final chance for people to snatch prizes, with all kinds of markets available to put 10 stakes on. That will probably be more complicated and make people upset (and make joker_josue work harder), so I'll have a think about it, you guys will just have to put up with the confusion, and forgive my oversight =D

I just hope not to see other scenario than Barca win in regular time and advancing to the next round. I'm justtired to see our humiliation in Europe every year. Barca played better in 1st leg, but having 1 dangerous moment in whole game was enough for Napoli to score.
It seems that Porto is getting some pace recently. Few solid wins in domestic league, including 5:0 against Benfica. They have minimal advantage from 1st leg and now I don't think it will be so easy for Arsenal as I thought few weeks ago. Maybe odds isn't high, but going with over 2.5 goals there.

Great to see confident game from Barca and we avoided getting into nervous last minutes. In some part of games it looked that Barca gave too much initiative to Napoli, but in the end when Napoli needed to score, Barca just dominated.
Now heading to extra time in Arsenal - Porto. Arsenal had a bit advantage, but not enough to win in regular time - Porto played like they're supposed to play away. But that moment with Arsenal cancelled goal - I'm not really sure about it.

This Arsenal - Porto game was one explosive one and match isn't even over yet, and with every second that goes close to a penalty shootout...it means chances of progression lean towards the 50-50 chance and  both teams have thrown all they can at the game but I fancy Porto the underdog to go through because they were technically excellent in both legs...but let's see what happens here

Not bad Arsenal. Didn't win the way I wanted, but Arteta's turned this squad around. Not quite unbottlers yet, but first appearance in QF 14 years, not bad. Porto didn't do too badly, either. Pepe became the first player over 40 to play (I don't know if I recall correctly but I think Maldini vs Liverpool was 39 when we played our last pre-Klopp final!), and they took the tie to penalties (hasn't happened in 8 years, what?).
