Damn it’s the play offs for the last 16 next week already. That came round quick, I totally forgot it was this soon until I saw this thread bumped. I have no chance of winning any prize this season now in this pool but I will of course submit. Hoping Juve and Atletico get knocked out so on paper, Liverpool get a more winnable tie.

It was a 2 week break and yet it felt like yesterday right?

For both our teams we have a bit of nice break to see who is our opponent,,, my team will be without manager when it comes back to Europe, hopefully your manager improves or does not get worse but he has good record in Europe so I guess you will be fine

If you want, save 1 stake each round for the next 3 -- that is, only use 5 stakes for the next 3 rounds -- and then you'll have 9 stakes (3 saved) for the following round. Blast it all on big points and win freebets?

And yes! joker_josue has been slowly tinkering and after a few bouts of me checking manually (for players without, with a penalty, and with multiple penalties), I think we can confirm that the leaderboard is 100% accurate.

Main changes:

• Matchday points are now showing gross points (without any penalties applied).
• Matchdays were a user fails to score on the odds-based predictions are now marked with a penalty indication.
• Total Points now show the user's total score, adjusted after penalties.
• Total penalties in points are also shown below a user's total score.

Not much changed, however, several users with multiple penalties will now see their standings rise slightly with the bug fix, which returned points taken in error.

Cosmetically, there are still minor bugs in the Matchday Details for each user that might confuse you on penalty points, but importantly, the leaderboard is now correct. User details for each matchday are otherwise accurate, including points won from each category (scores- and odds-based predictions).

Nice tactic to suggest @buwa but I tried saving stakes in 2 rounds and guess what, I got penalties in those rounds LOL I mean its my fault for always throwing big stakes on Barca overs, but I'm still glad to be in top 10 fighting spot, just to warn everyone I'm gonna be extra careful for the next half of this competition.

Luckily my team isn't in playoffs so I will have 2 quiet rounds

To pull off a sensation, underdogs must solve a difficult problem: not to lose the first game big, while simultaneously not showing their best game. But this is if we think about the outcome of two games - in individual games, I am sure there will be many surprises - the favorites can afford to lose the first game, or the second if they win the first big. It's not "real playoffs" yet.
To be honest, right now I'm more concerned about the outcome of the 1/8 draw, there will be real pairings, plus it will be possible to evaluate the teams' path to the final and their chances.

Also it's one thing when it's Real, although even here I'm overestimating the number of goals they should score, and another thing when it's United, which have simply been under water for several years in a row.

I still see a HUGE error, why the user darxiaomi is in place 20º on the leadearboard? He is the best by far i made the calculations and he has to be first by a 100 points margin.

But even if we knew, how would it help us? After all, there are no reliable bets, especially when we're talking about high odds.

It sounds too complicated and unreliable, to be honest. As I understand it, if you're unsure, you should bet on low odds to avoid penalties, and if you're confident, you can risk a 3-point stack, but I don't understand how carrying over one stack between rounds helps.

Would it be super crazy if Tottenham got to the final again? Fingers crossed we do not meet Liverpool again if so

Yeah, the main reason I don't like group phase. Favourites can still afford to lose even 3 games, and win the easy ones to get into playoffs. This lessening of jeopardy is what turns me off big time. These playoffs are meaningless too, completely unnecessary but that's a system designed to ensure the favourites get another chance to make it.

Yes =) Perhaps even tomorrow. I think books will update odds and markets quite quickly after league/cup games are settled. Spurs-Liverpool final? Please, god no.

P.S. Glad to see you active on forum again, I know it's small but we've lost members over the years and to get one back is rare. Very pleased!
