I agree, injuries are probably one of the worst aspects of any sport, but at the same time they are inevitable, athletes take their bodies to the extreme so it is natural there are injuries along the process and no one was at fault for this, however it seems the recovery of Inoue will be fast enough and Fulton is willing to wait, which obviously makes the fans really happy about this as I really thought the possibility of the fight being canceled was very high.

Actually, the expected recovery period is already extended to the point that Inoue should be 100% ready.

Stephen Fulton obviously will wait for that patiently as in the first place, he even doesn't want to win with that advantage.

But my worry here is if Inoue won't make it up as 100% fully healthy on the expected date of recovery, this fight might not happen anymore.

We shouldn't be concerned about that possibility, as it would be unwise for Inoue to go into the fight if he's not fully recovered. It would be disrespectful to the current champion, and if he were to lose, he may use his injury as an excuse. It's important for us to see Inoue at 100% healthy and ready to compete against the defending champion, Fulton.

Well Inoue had stated that he don't want to fight if he is not 100% recovered and conditioned to fight.  This is also the reason why they (Inoue's camp) requested to postpone.  I do not think fighting in a not 100% condition is disrespectful to the champion, but rather it is disadvantageous to Inoue's camp and they don't want to give that advantage to Fulton.

They (Inoue) may use that as a reason if ever he faces Fulton having the injury fully unrecovered, but a win is a win for Fulton, and will not hesitate to take it if the opportunity offers.

Disrespect or disadvantage, it doesnt matter because it could really be on both ways if ever Inoue would be deciding on fighting not in full shape. This is why it would really be just right that they would really be calling for a postponement and its good that Fultons team did respect it out and now its been resumed but on a later date or 2 months in gap which is something that should really be sufficient for them
to prepare and healed up completely on Inoue's side.

They would really be going into a fight without having those possible reasoning if ever Inoue would lost against Fulton.Of course Fulton would really be after on fighting Inoue
considering on what are the things he would gained if ever he would succeed out.

A win, still a win, whatever is the ground behind that win. As long as it was legit and clean, it will be on the side of Inoue if they will push the fight after the postponement and the injury is still not being cured.

I see both your point and, for sure, fighters are just aiming to meet each other inside the ring, whatever the reason
if the fight schedule being push, they will be there to face each other and will try to win from one another.

Let's just be positive that this fight will materialize in good fate.

Everything is good and the re-scheduled date was July 25 (shared by @Baofeng).

Good thing the rescheduled date is not that much longer.

Naoya Inoue and Stephen Fulton reschedule hotly anticipated fight

I just noticed this Grin thanks for sharing it mate, much appreciated!

Well, it's indeed back to business for these two because they now have a date to follow and I know that the fans are already delighted about this news because they hoped, including me, that there won't be any major setbacks that will result into a different scenario.

For that, I assume that Naoya Inoue is now healed and slowly preparing until he's 100% in condition. No need to rush because they still got huge time left on the clock.

You are right! There's still an ample time for Inoue to heal up his injuries and does still have that time to caught up into his training but of course he shouldn't really be overdoing it to avoid more injury that would

might cause for another postponement which is something that would be showing off their negligence on the part considering that extreme training could really be leading up into that situation or condition.
We as fans would really be having not choice but to wait up for this upcoming fight and just like the rest been saying that additional 2 months time wouldnt really be that too long
and as long it would happen as of this year then it is really just that fine.

3 months is enough to have Naoya Inoue completely healed of the injury and be conditioned 100%.  Hopefully the injury even though healed won't affect Inoue's performance.

So the fight is on July 25, so there is a lot of time for the winner of the match to have another fight before the year end.  Hopefully, Casimero will have a shocking performance on his fight against Nghitumbwa that boxing councils will think and consider him as worthy contender of the winner of Fulton - Inoue title fight.

good for inoue's camp to call out the fight before it happens. now that fulton's camp know the injury, they may take advantage of knowing what particular injury inoue has and target its possible weakness. it was stated that its hand injury, so that's actually his major part of the body used in boxing. so let's see how this will pan out. if they think that 3 months time is more than enough to recover, then maybe the injury is not really that bad.

Not enough I guess. There are other top-ranked boxers that can Casimero can face first before having a ticket for a title match.

Don't expect Casimero to fight the winner between Inoue and Fulton.

I'm finding an article before wherein I think I saw who will probably face the winner between Inoue and Fulton. I will try to look for it.

@harizen. I reckon Inoue vs. Fulton will have a rematch clause for both of them. They both have this right because Inoue was a famous unified champion in bantamweight and Fulton is presently the WBO and WBC champion. There might not be any speculations for a next opponent after the fight because each team will concentrate on the immediate rematch.

In any case, for Casimero he should fight a big name in super bantamweight then challenge the IBF and WBA champion Murodjon Akhmadaliev. This will certainly force Inoue or Fulton to fight him on 2024.

I think the same, if this injury did not happened now and instead happened during the fight of Inoue vs Fulton and Fulton obviously won due to the inability of Inoue to punch as he is used to, I will not take that win away from Fulton, as we must remember that during our lives we must face all kind of circumstances that are outside of our control and still do our best, but obviously in that case I would like to see a second fight in which both are at 100% to see who is the best under those circumstances.

Yup! if that happened then so be it Fulton will take the win and expect for a good rematch if Inoue's camp will activate the rematch claw, though not sure as it will be depends on how the assessment that they will going to take.

The fight was re-schedule and we will see them preparing. Inoue's injury might affect him
but once the fight schedule come up, they will meet and they will showcase all the talents that they've got.

There might not be any speculations for a next opponent after the fight because each team will concentrate on the immediate rematch.

I haven't seen or heard if there is a rematch clause, but let's see I agree that since Fulton is going to Japan, but in one condition, there could be a rematch clause and it will be in the US, or something like that. And it makes sense as he is the champion here and not Inoue. And knowing how PBC makes so much demand in their negotiations, I wouldn't be surprised that there is a immediate rematch between the two.

In any case, for Casimero he should fight a big name in super bantamweight then challenge the IBF and WBA champion Murodjon Akhmadaliev. This will certainly force Inoue or Fulton to fight him on 2024.

As far as I remember, Akhmadaliev will be fighting another Filipiino in Marlon Tapales to defend his IBF and WBA super bantamweight belts. So it's going to be big as this is dangerous fight for him as he will go against the underrated Tapales. And if by chance Marlon pulled a huge upset then it could be both Filipino fighting. It will be a huge shakeup in the division if Tapales wins here.

For sure if this first match would be ending up that interesting the anytime there would really be a rematch that would be arranged on which im also anticipating for this one which it wont really be that shocking..
Casimero would really be still needing to climb up the ladder and tending to fight someone on the current division on where Inoue is, if he's really that chasing him to fight on but since the gap is there
then he cant just be able to call a match against Inoue unless if he would really be winning several matches to climb up the ladder.

Agree with and I got the picture of what you are saying.

Maybe we can assume that there 2 possible things that might happen after the fight:

a) activating the rematch clause (if there's any)
b) will instead push facing the winner of the fight that I'm referring which I'm still looking for currently

For now, let's focus first on the upcoming fight.

Lots of surprising events that might happened in the division especially a Pinoy boxer is involved.

Yes, and there are at least Filipino in the 118 lbs, Donaire, Astrolabio and Gaballo. And if the latter 2 decided to go up then it's going to be a free for all for this Filipino boxers to get a belt and maybe they will have to face each.

Tapales fight is this weekend, just check my favorite sport bookies, unfortunately, it's not yet listed.

However, I'm not going to be surprised if he will be the underdog this Sunday. But you can't never discount Filipinos in boxing. We already have the precedent in Manny Pacquiao.

Thank you for sharing this news with me. I've heard of this fighter before and I think he's a decent competitor. I would be interested in betting on him if he's listed as an underdog on the bookies. It's possible that the odds aren't available yet, but we can check a day before the fight when bookies typically list odds for less popular fights.

If the odds listed below are real, then you'll get a very attractive odds.

https://www.oddschecker.com/boxing/murodjon-akhmadaliev-v-marlon-tapales/winner

Tapales has odds of 18/5 or 3.6, which I'm sure many Filipino bettors will take into consideration and not miss the opportunity to bet on the underdog. It's always nice to show support for an underdog with such attractive odds.

It is possible a rematch may not happen and this could be the only instance in which we will see Fulton and Inoue fighting each other, because as you mention Fulton was already to move up a division, however the opportunity to fight Inoue presented itself and Fulton could not let this opportunity to pass him up, after all he wants to gain more recognition, and what better way to gain it than to beat the boxer many consider to be the best pound for pound on his own country?
