I have noticed that the majority here have chosen Manchester City to win the Champions League title, but I have decided to go with Inter Milan, even though they are considered the underdogs. Has MMA been MMA from the old days? Because I grew up knowing that we had Boxing and Kickboxing, and I'm sure I watched kickboxing sometimes in the 90s, I'm not sure if the name was changed or if we had a different kickboxing sport from MMA.

MMA means Mixed Martial Arts, it's not boxing or kickboxing, it's all combat sports combined in one ultimate sport with different rules.
Many fighters are coming from kickboxing, judo, wrestling, karate and similar sports in MMA because they can earn more money.

We are not computers and we can find our way trough some answers even if they are a bit off the norm.

I would have gone for Inter Milan too because of their rich history over English  teams, but they way City are playing at the moment...you can't write them off to get their first ever UEFA CUP! Wouldn't surprise me if Pep calls it quits after this achievement because he knows he won't defend it.

Yeah, I just checked the spreadsheet and I think you are wrong about this round as the boring one. We have more than two different answers. Q3, Q5, Q8, Q9 and Q10 are different. IN this round there are more H2H questions than what was usual in season 1 so it's hard to have many of the same answers as the opponent.

Well, I didn't believe H2H questions were that relevant; if I get more of the regular questions correct, H2H questions won't have any influence because they're mostly used as a tie breaker and for free bets, so I didn't count them.

I did the math, and only 6 chose Inter not to lose the rest were dominated by City's answer, I also choose the answer Inter not to lose, but not because I assumed that Inter would win in the final later, just anticipating Inter's ability to make the match go to extra time.
More people will predict City will become champions because this will be the most painful failure if they fail again, and the second failure also occurs with a team that is predicted to be easy for them to overcome, really not a pleasant thing.
This is also one of the defining answers besides the two tennis questions and the U-20 World Cup, for tennis, of course my opponent has a greater chance of getting the answer right because he is quite an expert in this sport.

The "vic" is common suffix in Croatian last names, that's why you see a lot of those.

Well... I think that H2H questions have a lot of influence, especially when there is a lot of questions where everyone will probably have the same answer. It's not easy to answer them, but they often bring advantage for those who answer them correctly.

Sorry for answering belatedly Ige, I actually only watched kickboxing in Thailand in Malaysia, these aren't televised beyond local TV, and it has been 20 years almost since. MMA's development somehow went by me, so I'm really quite clueless there. I personally don't even know any Thai or Malay muay Thai fighter who ever went into MMA, but even then, I didn't really know names or stars, just local boys who fought small time fights, and then win annual tournaments to go fight international combat tournaments -- maybe this is the origin of MMA.

Muay Thai definitely still exists and I'm going to take my kid to watch some fights again this summer (but no major tournaments just regular fights), sort of nostalgic for me.

On that topic: September is 2023 World Combat Games. Maybe BSFL can feature a couple of games from there?

Was that kickboxing or Muay Thai?
This are two different sports with different rules, and Muay Thai is more similar to MMA, they accept knees and elbows, not just kicks like in kickboxing.
Back on BSFL, good green start for you and me in first two rows, lets hope this trend continues

It was a great night in Prague tonight for West Ham as they scored a winning goal in last minutes of the match against Fiorentina.
English teams are usually better than Italian in European competitions and with that logic Manchester City should easily win against Inter right?

For now we have accepted all of it, although the Alcaraz ones are pretty different and won't be accepted in the future.

For this question it was clear what you meant though, but be careful with it going forward. We don't expect perfect spelling but it must be close to the player's surname.
