That second set would've been it for Sabalenka, I thought it'll go 2-0 when she broke Ons in the second set but Ons held on and broke her twice to force a third set. The momentum carried on to the third set and Sabalenka kept making unforced errors while Ons was locked in.

Now I have to rely on the last two questions but with my luck, I might go 0/5.  Tongue

It was quite a huge come back for Ons Jabeur, I really didn't see that coming, I thought oh, yeah here we go with another easy semi final just like the first one, seeing Ons fight back game by game was crazy impressive, and especially after being one set down, she really is mentally though, and it was that mentally toughness that saw her through to the finals today.

It's going to be one hell of a final between Ons and Vondrousova, because I don't see that fixture going one sided.

Each block is stacked on top of the previous one. Adding another block to the top makes all lower blocks more difficult to remove: there is more "weight" above each block. A transaction in a block 6 blocks deep (6 confirmations) will be very difficult to remove.

didn't saw odds, but I think that Ons should be a favorite here
last year finalist, should have more chances to win this one than Vondrousova, but everything is possible

Svitolina was not focused on the match, you could see that on press-conference after winning over Swiatek, but Vondrousova win in two sets is really remarkable, on the other side Jauber won over Sabalenka was tougher, in a more interesting match

Yeah, Ons is favorite is favorite in the final. Don't want to understimate Vondrousova too much, but she had much easier path to the final. After all, Jabeur eliminated good looking Kvitova, last year champion Rybakina and now probably main favorite Sabalenka.
Tomorrow mens semifinal. If Sinner will managed to win oneset against Nole, it will be already good achievement, while other match between Alcaraz and Medvedev should be much more interesting, though Alcaraz is favorite there.

Regarding a possible E-sport question, you guys might want to take look a at CS:GO, Blast Premier Fall Groups 2023 is be scheduled for hold from 13th to 23rd of July.
Or we can select few of us to play sport video games like football, basketball and racing, and other members can bet on winners and statistics.  Grin

How is everyone doing in BSFL Cup this week?
I am not doing very good at all with only one correct answer, but lucky for me that Kanapka is even worse than me until now Smiley
Unlike me, LFC_Bitcoin and vd309 are doing very good so far.

Sup everyone! Missed a whole day of forum due to travels and now still adjusting to new timezone. In a way, really good timing for the cup tie. LFC_Bitcoin probably won his tie, as did vd309. Looks like the questions ended up being tough for most of you anyway, huh?

Don't forget to start putting mbtcs aside for new season pools already being organised! Sportsbet on a roll!

Can we all stop acting like video games are sports? We're battling DOTA, and some of you are still requesting new video game questions for the competition. We all want a level playing field, and adding video games that only a few people are aware of is an unfair advantage over others.

There are too many sporting events this month to have E-sport questions.

The competition is really tough between us right now @Navidart.  Grin  But it looks like the 4th question will be the decider for us because there are 3 answers and all of our answers are different.

I really want to have a good run in the cup at least after a bad start to the league. I need to improve my knowledge about different sports or video games that I don't follow much also otherwise the league won't go on well for me this season.  Sad  Even making it to playoffs would be a good thing for me.

I don't have much knowledge about especially Cricket and DOTA. I'm just trying to answer the questions according to the recent results of the teams in those tournaments.  Grin

not sure about Sinner chances, he took two sets last year, but didn't had any chance to win (being even close to win that one), looking at that, seems that all end-ups on when Djokovic will start playing his tennis, what Sinner took up to that point is his maximum

regarding Alcaraz and Medvedev, I think that Alcaraz will win 3:0 easily, from what both showed so far

Man I hate web sites with more adds than content, but OK. Bookmarked the site so I'm prepared for the CS:GO questions...

I see that a lot of you went with the option that Mexico will win the final by 1 goal. I thought about it but it looked to me like there is a better chance for them to cover 1,5 handicap than to win by exactly 1 goal. I just checked and I see that they won 3-0 against Jamaica so I guess it's a "wins confidently" :-)

Adblocker man, those usually work well against video sites with ads like youtube. So far I found anyway.

I'm also surprised by majority Mexico small handicap. I feel like they're way stronger than Jamaica, like way way stronger. I actually even believed they would hit 4 or 5 goals lol

How is everyone doing in BSFL Cup this week?

I'm doing ok 2 points... who would expect 6 goals or more for Question 5, who else but my opponent lol

At least we won't draw this round though Smiley

TBH, I didn't expected to see Mexico even winning this one
but fast goal in 2 minute changed everything for Jamaica, they are much stronger in defense, probably prepared to fight for goalless draw, and easy and fast goal just in the beginning throw them down the chasing goal route, where they could not make it

nevertheless, USA lost to Panama, so Mexico should have much easier final than expected

Djokovic and Alcaraz showed class in semi-finals, as expected

One of the easiest bet to place for me;

Sinner still being Sinner always failing to show up or stand up to the challenges at grand stages, I was at my most optimistic self sure he wouldn't force more than a tie break, but still fail to win a set, while I had Alcaraz vs Medvedev to game have no tie break, I was sure that even if they go all the way to 5 set there would still almost zero breakpoint imo.

I think the Alcaraz vs Djokovic final is best thing any could ask for, for this year's Wimbledon final, any other match up could be a one sided game as we've seen a couple of times in their route to the final, so I think this is the only match up that can provide the atmosphere we are looking forward to as spectators, probably a potential handing over of class from a old generation to the new era.

There are too many sporting events this month to have E-sport questions.

Can I spoil the fun for you by telling you that we might have another dota related question next round or the next one after  Roll Eyes. There is a huge event starting next week on dota with $15M prizepool so pretty sure that would be included in the future question

probably a potential handing over of class from a old generation to the new era.

I guess Djokovic wont be retiring anytime soon but I honestly still want Djokovic to win this though. Anyway they are both 16 years apart and by the time Djokovic started his professional career, Alcaraz is still a few months infant  Roll Eyes they are totally both coming from a different era

I really don't know though, but one thing I know for sure is that whichever one of them wins the title have more than earned it here, you get. I really do love Djokovic too, and I love the fact that there is at least one veteran out there active in tennis showing these young generation players the need for consistency, because I can't imagine if the likes of Ruud, Rune, Tsitsipas, Sinner and co, are all we to compete against Alcaraz for the top ranks in tennis, that means there is becoming some level of decline in the sport quality over time, because most the mentioned players are top 10, and I don't believe I'm seeing distinct improvement in their level of competitiveness, not if a 36 years old Djokovic is having relatively easy against any one of them, I mean no disrespect Djokovic because he manage to keep himself fit and stay agile over the years, and this really should be the time that these young players begin to stress him according to his age, but they barely look as fit as Djokovic does.

Djoković biggest strength is his mental resilience, nobody has that on tour now that Nadal is not playing. I watched parts of the match yesterday and Sinner had his opportunities, especially in third set, and played bad points on most of them. Djoković plays his best tennis on those important points and that coupled with a bit of help from impressed/scared opponents is more than enough to make it look easy for him.

I am sure Alcaraz will not be impressed though and will want revange for RG. His problem could be that he will want it too much and maybe force it a bit which will result in unforced errors. It is really a fine margin to walk to get a perfect amount of aggressive play against Djoković.

Thinking about a revenge for RG would be his biggest mistake, because as for RG it could been a whole different ball game had he not been injured, but he wouldn't want to retired at such stage is what I feel because he got back into that right Djokovic had taken the first set, and I don't think Djokovic would underestimate him too, especially knowing Djokovic getting back to No 1, after Alcaraz 28 weeks at the top of the rank didn't last for too long, and the next ATP Tour 500 was all Alcaraz need to reclaim the top spot. I don't think Alcaraz will be anywhere near the level of Djokovic when it comes mental strength, because there is almost no situation in tennis that he has been in, but if there is any young lad that can put Nole to a strong test, I believe it's gotta be nobody but the Alcaraz, because he just doesn't give up on plays too, but Djokovic does know how to mess with his opponent mental strengths, reminds me of the Mourinho vs Arsene wenger back and forth words exchanges before every Chelsea vs Arsenal games and then Arsenal often ends up losing because there is always an Arsenal team coming into a game already psychologically demoralized with Mou's evaluations and antics, but in the case of Djokovic he sure knows how to make his opponent doubt their own abilities.

It is either the "he wants it too much" problem or Djokovic drives him into a total breakdown again. I still don't know whether it could ever be verified that he had these cramps last time or whether that was psychologically.

As you mention, the mental resilience that Djokovic has also has this effect that his opponents know what losing a set or even two sets has no meaning at all. That's quite different when there are turning points in a game that you can often tell this game is over. Djokovic could be two sets down and 0-2 in the third and nobody would think Djokovic is done. That's extremely stressful because knowing you have to play 120% until the very last point is also quite taxing on the psyche.

Amazing that we have this final as this is probably the only game these days that can promise highest intensity/quality tennis maybe for a five hour thriller.

There are too many sporting events this month to have E-sport questions.

Can I spoil the fun for you by telling you that we might have another dota related question next round or the next one after  Roll Eyes. There is a huge event starting next week on dota with $15M prizepool so pretty sure that would be included in the future question

Yes, Trofo does not support any European clubs; he just supports the Croatian national team, and because of his small interest in DOTA games, I anticipate to see DOTA more frequently.

$15m? That's the usual amount of money in a tennis prize pool; how do they attract this many sponsors with so little TV, right? Only about 0.8% of the world's population watches such games.

How do they generate money sitting in front of a computer with fewer people viewing them? Trofo.

All the game I've lost this season is because of DOTA questions.   Grin

Not buying it for one second when it comes from the guy who supports Chelsea and then can't name first 11 when I make the question  Roll Eyes

They generate money same way footballers generate money, by promoting companies on their shirts and selling the right to club name. Esports are already big and they are getting bigger by the day, adapt or get left behind. Same as with any line of work  Grin

What are you not buying exactly? My stats or my honesty on the video game.

Lol you expected me to name 11 starting XI under Lampard with a club of 50 players + Lampard doesn't have a starting XI, he just throws random guys on the pitch dependent on what his wife ordered him to do. No human was going to get that right. I got 9 and 8 for the Arsenal and Manchester United lineups because, unlike Lampard, these coaches are consistent.

No way!

Perhaps they are also receiving sponsorship from Saudi Arabia, since they have more prize money than most tennis tournaments  Grin

It is different niche of products, you know gaming chairs or computer peripherals have to make commercials as well. Can you imagine better target audiance than gamers? Beer and football go hand in hand, while drinks like Monster are big esports sponsors. I am sure they have their math sorted out.

Also new generations are watching more and nore esports while football numbers are dropping outside major events like world cups or premier league. I even heard arguments to shorten football matches in order to better captivate young viewers who can't keep concentration for 2 hours straight.

As i said, like or not, we all have to adapt to new ways or we get left behind. Maybe new offaide rule gets implemented to all leagues and it will probably raise the number of goals significantly and maybe boost some other stats.
