Anyway, what are you guys talking about, there's absolutely no luck involved. Except if I finish near the bottom like last season, and out of cups. That's bad luck. Cause I'm seriously an expert across all sports and I know what I'm talking about.

Here's my useless tip for the Golf question: Rory McIlroy, the favourite to win this British Open is from Northern Ireland... which is actually part of the UK.

Wow! Thanks for the explanation on where does the name come from. I'm from Croatia where waterpolo is a fairly popular sport  and I had no idea how it got it's name. I just accepted it as vaterpolo (it's the name of the sport in Croatian) and never thought how it got the name. And you are right, it is more similar to handball than to football, but with hands. I don't know how I didn't think of handball for comparison.

I just submitted my own predictions, I wanted to get some insights about some sports and CSGO, but I had my hands tied all so I had to take some unprecedented risks and blind guesses too, I would say.

I really might just let this round slip through my fingers again, given who I'm up against and lack of time to do my proper due diligence, but let's see what lady luck might have in store for me against all odds 🤞

Oh f*ck, I missed deadline, my bad, submitted answers now. Getting penalty hurts me a lot when every point matters for me to avoid relegation. But I can't blame anyone, just myself, especially after when I saw notification. I was too bussy with making Champions league bets when I got notification. I thought that I will leave predictions few minutes later, but forgot.
Persoanlly, I'm fine if you won't post notifications because usually I don't have problems to submit picks on time, but sometimes shit happens.

CS GO? I play good on C.S 1.6 (the real CS) CS GO i dont know so much.
Volleyball? Well the other day i follow Argentina in the tournament but i dont have the whole knowledge.

We have penalties in the rules. There will not be any extra added. If you are late that is -1 point on table and you probably loose your H2H since you start with few questions less. I meant if you forget several times during season minus points plus lost matches will probably mean relegation. You will not get that penalty directly from us.

That way we should have more qoulity and only serius players in top divisions after couple of seasons.

There is one more penalty in the rules. That one is if you don't submit at all, more than 2 times per season you are out of competition. Late submission or not submitting creates unfair situations in H2H duels. We want to keep that to the minimum and still not alienate casual players. That is a thin line to thread.

I would not call him "favorite", he is within golfers that could win this one, but there is no real favorite in Golf, IMO
Rory already won Royal Open in Liverpool, and can't be sure, but I think that there is no golfer that won it twice in last 10 years (Rory won this in his debut, as I already wrote in this topic)

so, IMO, he should not win another, will be way too much, but on the other hand, he is as close to be called "golfer with most chances to win it"
there is no domination similar to, for example, Djokovic or Nadal in tennis, in Golf

Yeah its 3 questions less but its not really bad compared to the last time I submitted it late. Im already on the brink of relegation so this probably costed me alot but 7 questions with 5 different answers with @mitchr4 so I'll take my chances there but Im doom if he got points from the other 3 questions

I'm just not going to try to state the obvious that have been discussed over here already regarding users submitting late, I know it's a game of tactics and awareness sometimes we all need to wait a bit closer to the deadline to get extra information (and that's actually commendable showing a little bit of extra commitment rather than just entry random jargons, just like someone putting just "Astralis" question no. 7 answer, whereas, Astralis were already out of the picture before the question for the round was released) but at the same time of what use are all those information gathered if you eventually miss the deadline, and I understand it takes just a few minutes to get distracted and bang! you've missed the deadline.

As for myself, I often do submit my answers relatively on time except when I'm sure there are still other relevant information to get, but despite me having +1 hour advantage to the forum default time, I still set multiple alarms to remind me should incase I had get carried away buy a busy real life activities, and Here is an example of my alarm schedule for today of which the last alarm still gives me an hour of advantage to that of the forum's time

Regarding the deadlines - yep, we spoke about giving you reminders this season as well because we had a lot of new players joining.
From next season it's almost certain there will be no reminders and that every late submission will be an automatic loss that will carry an additional -1 point penalty.

We really don't want to put too many rules and pressure you - but trying to navigate situations in which we constantly have to check which questions to accept and which not kinda creates a possibility of us making unfair decisions.
As hard as it seems at first, the most fair is a rule where it's all the same for everybody - no matter how strict the rule might seem.

Last season I believe one round I scored 6 points, which was a round only 3 or 4 people got that much, and I of course also met that same fellow lol

there is that H2H momentum, two rounds ago I scored 5, and most people were 4 or less, but I had to play Igebotz that only scored 6 and got free-bet along with a win
but that is what makes it interesting

agree that there is a lot of luck here, but would not say that it is only luck, one has to know what to put, no luck will pull you up if you put Nepal to pass cricket group, as some had in spreadsheet

Momentum I think is truly important. I noticed a couple of those who submitted late answers were on losing streaks, not so good for confidence and I'm sure 100% contributed to them forgetting!!

Luck of course involves playing to the best of knowledge. Very surprised some participants put very out answers for some questions, like I don't even know where they got their picks from lol
