Edit: Just noticed our Clearnet server provider is doing infrastructure upgrades until midnight CET time, so 2 hours left. Tor is still accessible during this time.

For the same condition that the https://whirlwind.money/ site cannot be opened until now for the duration of the time that the OP mentioned, I still see the words SSL handshake failed (error code 525) when trying to access.



Maybe the OP needs to do something with one of them as the @examplens said (Maybe you should check your SSL settings there.)

It seems that there is a problem with the clearnet site again, although now it is Cloudflare Error 522. As far as I have seen, this error is not caused by any Cloudflare malfunctions, and they indicate that it is a connection timed out. Probably server overload or web hosting firewall blocking Cloudflare requests.

made my first withdrawal of my campaign rewards via the whirlwind website on friday and everything went smoothly
i accessed the homepage via tor and confirmed a certain amount with the time option of 2 hours to my BTC address.
the satoshis have then also arrived in this time frame on my wallet👍

The SSL handshake failed problem (error code 525) which had occurred when I accessed the whirlwind.money site was resolved properly by accessing the homepage using the TOR Browser.
Yesterday I tried to make a withdrawal and the transaction went smoothly in about -/+ 20 minutes.

As LoyceV said in the Anonymity Mining Campaign service thread that TOR Browser is ready to use not only for this.

My whirlwind deposit page has stuck at: "Couldn't fetch deposit. Please refresh the page." while my depositing transaction is confirmed.

Edit: I did import a private key in the site, and it shows the correct balance, but the fetch deposit error scared me a bit.

What did you mean by that? More BTC as bankroll? We don't have a way to verify that, do we? If we don't have, the point of this message has no value. Nevertheless, I didn't mean criticism. I was just curious about what you meant.

Yes that's what I meant, and given how the mixer works everyone can verify the reserve at any time since it's held in the multi-sig and that is public.

What's the maximum amount you would allow to be mixed? I haven't seen any such info on the website. Good to see that you haven't set cloudfare on the clearnet.

It depends how you look at it. If you want to get your BTC back fast (0-200 hours), then you need to consider how much BTC is held in the pool. I don't expect to get any big transactions in the first days at least so this amount is around 1.5BTC right now and will get up to 5-10BTC in a matter of hours which should be enough  while users test the service. We will increase this again once we start to see some transactions happening.

On the other hand if you don't care about getting your BTC back fast, but care more about privacy, then you can deposit and get a Note, which you could withdraw at a later time. And for that I don't necessarily think there is a limit since you can withdraw little by little over whatever period you want. Of course trust will play a big role here especially because we are new, so this is why at the same time I will also be looking for trusted members to add to the multi-sig in order to make the service trustless. I didn't saw anyone else complaining about them scamming anyone, and email support can be slow for all services.

Why should anyone take your accusation seriously when you already said you did something stupid and want rectification note that not all mistakes can be corrected e.g. sending your coin to the wrong address can be something stupid that even support can't help you with.

So if you do not mind, you may have to mention the stupid thing you did as that we can have an idea of what we are discussing here, but calling the project scam is not appropriate in this situation.

I had the two links open, the clearnet link was coming on and off so i opened the onion link as well, now i stupidly mixed up the notes for both, that is honestly what happened.

 I did copy the deposit note, made the deposit to the onion link, but the note i saved was for the clearnet link, the deposit confirmed, minutes later i couldn't see a way to withdraw, then i pasted the deposit note i copied and it didnt work, that was when i realized i mixed both up. i thought it shouldnt be and issue since i was still on the page (from my experience using other mixers as long as you are still on the page it shouldn't be an issue) then i contacted support, its been 3 days and no one has replied.

I agree its mostly my fault, but at least a reply would have been nice.

I understand you wont like your nice Signature campaign to turn out to be a horrible service customer support wise, but 3 days and no sign of customer support isnt a good look for a new service trying to win new customers.

Also not letting people withdraw if they are still on the page after deposit is a UI fail, unless of course its a secret revenue source. no other mixer does that .. I dunno, i'll delete the "scam" reply, but at least you understand my frustrations.  

This wouldnt have happened if they didnt have hosting issues too, one will think since they know their hosting fluctuated they would be ready to help customers by replying them on time, but.

.. I just really need the money back, please

The consensus among users here on bitcointalk was that whirlwind should not refund such user errors as it could open a can of worms which ultimately defeats the purpose of the mixer.

It's a sucky situation but I'm just not quite sure what could actually be done about this if you don't have anything saved down from this..
