In expense side:
add $40k that they sent to minerjones
add the money they spent for their review campaign
add the money they spent in their signature campaign so far.

If they are or they are not, then how much is the difference?

I feel the expense side will be lesser than the deposit side. If they want to scam then it's very easy, well planned. On the other hand, if they have more expense then the amount deposited, still it's possible for them to shut down the service. They may find themselves running this business is a totally loss.

Sorry for not thinking positively. I balm them for it. Few hours, maximum 24 or 48 hours may seem reasonable but few days and no well plan to publicly announce anything is fishy business practice.

I think it's hard to say in exact numbers. This thread was started on March 28th, but I doubt they had any real clients right from the beginning, unless they were promoting their service through other channels. So, I presume most of the transactions during that period involved their own funds. As of the start of April, the address had accumulated a total of around 3BTC.

Site is down and we are waiting for official announcement from team. It was expected to get an announcement today because Hhampuz has talked to someone.
But whirlwind money devs did not reply here so far.
We are still waiting for official announcement and site to be fixed.

I got an email back from whirlwind just now and it was as I suspected - something happened.

Basically, main people lost access due to travels while people still with access didn't have the right credentials to solve basic issues that caused withdraws to get stuck on the back-end. I've been assured that nothing has been lost and that all will be taken care of tomorrow meaning all currently pending withdraws will be processed and things return back to normal. It was an unfortunate situation is all!

I've asked my contact at whirlwind to reply in this thread whenever they can with further details, so from now until then/tomorrow night there is no need to panic even if I wouldn't recommend you to deposit until the backlog is cleared. Campaign participants will also be paid out as per usual tomorrow, regardless of if you've removed your signature or not.

The problem is different from mine. The main problem is withdrawal delay. But I am unable to open the site. If they are not able to open the site then how they will withdraw their fund? And I do not think they have too many visitors which will occur this type of problem.
As you are facing the same issue then it might be the problem of the site.

The clearnet domain of the website has been down for around 2-3 weeks now. The .onion version is still functional from my end. Which version did you try to access?

I assume you know you need a Tor browser for .onion sites? You cannot access them using a "normal" browser.

As decodx stated, the clearnet version has been down for a long time. We were told it was under almost regular DDoS attack. The solution has always been to use Tor browser to access the .onion version of the Whirlwind website.

Having said that, I cannot be the only one that has withdrawn from the Note today as soon as the campaign sheets were updated. I did not receive funds even though I also selected 0 hours withdrawal time therefore I would advise no mixing until or unless Whirlwind fix the issues. As for withdrawals, we will just have to wait until they fix it in order to receive our funds.

They have been paying to the notes for a long time and you know paying to notes = their custody. Some of the sig participants had fund their as whirlwind offered reward when you hold fund there.

I just have neg tagged OP. Things are really not looking good. Mixing business is all about trust and the way whirlwind works, we should trust them most. For this, they should act faster but they have been inactive for a week. I don't want anyone sends fund mistakenly, without knowing the current situation. Will remove once things have been fixed.

I attempted to withdraw my 0.005BTC 4 hours ago with a 1-hour delay, but I haven't received the BTC yet. I already check the explorer but no incoming transaction. It seems that the transaction has been put on hold or stopped on their backend.

It sounds like they are running a hobby instead of a business. Really I will have a business where I am going to allow incoming btc but making excuse of not processing outgoing btc because travels, credential issue this and that, then it continues for days. I hope what they are telling is true. But a business needs to be more serious about their customers' funds.

First thing: I do think a flag is necessary now just to alert, at least try to alert people not to use their mixer, although I do not see there are any deposits to the 2 of 3 address [hopefully they did not chance the destination address to move the deposits, has anyone tried to deposit some sats recently to check if the 2 of 3 address receives the fund?].

Second thing: I fail to understand where is the decentralized nature of the website. The funds are in hold by one person or at least he is pretending to be three person containing three keys. Have we even known who owns these keys? No.

My suggestion: Everyone who have fund there in the notes, submit withdrawal [full amount], leave nothing. You will get the Letter of Guarantee. Verify the message. The letter will have withdrawal address and anyone can easily verify that the funds were not received. Do not use this address in the future just in case someone get a chance to tell that you received the funds.

Most importantly, as long as the site is still working, it is better to choose a trusted member and try to prove the ownership of the deposited coins (sending the private key to that member), if the site stops working and the developer team is no longer answer, I don't know how to compensate the users.

This leads us to the question, can the escrow funds be used in this case?
