Unfortunately (for me since I bet on Bayern), the truth is that Bayern can easily afford to lose a game or two (even though they are used to getting a 100% result in the group stage) since they still will qualify in first place. We can only hope that Tuchel does not want Bayern to perform worse/at the level of last season (according to average indicators) and will try to achieve a convincing victory today.

I see Galatasaray dominating this match even though previously Munich was predicted to win easily and I don't understand whether Munich is aiming for the safe side by playing a draw and taking advantage of the second leg moment, because we know that Munich is in a safe position in the group regardless of whether it finishes in first place or runners-up, while Galatasaray is not in a safe position because Manchester United could catch up moreover they only have a difference of 5 points. Anyway, it will be very interesting to wait for the final results in this group because 3 great teams compete with each other there and the struggle only occurred between Galatasaray and Manchester United.

As you can see, Bayern still won and this game seems to correspond to the pattern when the underdog plays very well and even better than the more eminent opponent, but in the end “for some reason” the better team wins. This is a common pattern when the stronger team strains exactly as much as it needs to strain to win. However, I’m not yet sure that this is exactly what is happening with Bayern, they don’t look convincing in the Bundesliga either. So maybe today luck was just on their side, who knows.

If I remember correctly, Lens finished 2nd in the league last season with 1 point difference behind PSG. A 1-1 draw away to a team that dominated the French league last season must be promising. Both teams had plenty of chances but didn't make the most of them. We could have seen more goals in the match. I don't know if PSV can get out of the group but I think this group will be more competitive than the other groups.

Since the day Lens beat Arsenal 2-1 at home, I knew they would be the other team to make an effort to scale through the round of 16 because I never expected Arsenal to lose against them, and they defeated Arsenal, and today they have yet another outstanding performance as they were able to get a point in their match against PSV.

Before now, many people were not counting on Lens; they were only focused on PSV and Arsenal. But as it stands now, Lens and Arsenal might be the two teams that can qualify for the knockout stage of the 2023–2024 season.

It was one of those days where you may look like you played better but the result may not come. There are a lot of similar games in football, and even games have this type of thing as well, you can have %70+ possession and 20+ more shots and still lose to a team that had just a few shots. We were unlucky, we had some great chances and amazing shots but it was either saved or missed by an inch, we could have scored 3 goals easily during the first half but we just missed. I congratulate Bayern, to be fair I always thought that the bigger chance would be losing to Bayern but we had a small chance, and that's exactly what happened, if those shots went in, we would have won. Unlucky, time to look for the next game.

The most surprising result of the day was Benfica losing at home to Real Sociedad. After finishing last season as champions in the league, Benfica couldn't get the results they wanted in the Champions League. There was a time when some teams were afraid of Benfica. Now those times seem to be behind them. Having been defeated in all 3 matches in the group, it will be very difficult for Benfica to get out of the group. Sociedad and Inter will most probably exit the group. Benfica, on the other hand, will have to push for the Europa League.

Am not also surprised about Bellingham and Vini Jr. Combo. They seem to have a kind of understanding that is healthy and helps them shine for their team, Real Madrid.

The main factor in Real Madrid's victory over Braga is Vinicius Junior. He was responsible for both of the assists Real Madrid used to win in their Champions League match tonight. Real Madrid would not have been victorious if he hadn't pushed for those attacks.
The performance of Real Madrid is starting to decline. They aren't playing the outstanding football they used to. They should take note that they won't be at the top of the Laliga table by the weekend if they perform like this against Barcelona in their Laliga match.

Manchester took over the second half and used that as an advantage to net the post. Maguire did great today and I think that he has started performing well and bringing victories to Manchester United unlike last season that he was causing defeat for United. I am happy that Maguire can put a smile on his face and be proud of himself again. For he scored at the right time that the goal was needed.

Manchester United had a better second half than the shambolic first half they played. The main player that changed the game was Christian Erickson. When Erickson came into  the game his composure and ability was the reason United dominated the midfield and one of his long balls was the what brought about the goal. Garnacho was missing one on one chances with the goalkeeper but also had a better game than Rashford that played complete nonsense. Garnacho should be given more playing time.

The two players that weren’t in the game was Scott MacTominay and Bruno. Aside the goals MacTominay doesn’t provide nothing more, he is part of central midfielders and could not dash back to recieve the ball more often when the defense has it. This was the space the opponent exploited and use to cause united problems in the first half. A better team would have done damage to united

What an unbelievable ending in the Manchester United v Copenhagen match!  

First of all Manchester United were really inadequate in performance in the first half. They weren't even close to being likely to score a goal. The second half was much more hopeful for them. Maguire scored the winning goal while there were 20 minutes left finally. I wouldn't have thought that he would be the hero.    The match got even more interesting when McTominay caused a penalty literally in the last moments. But Onana made a wonderful save. Onana and Maguire carried their team to victory tonight!

Much appreciation to Andre Onana and Harry Maguire. I wasn't sure that today's match versus Copenhagen would result in a 1-0 tie, but these two guys rescued a lot of people's tickets. The biggest chance for Copenhagen was lost when they failed to score their penalty. Manchester United has win the UEFA Champions League for the first time.

However, since they made an effort to earn their three points, let us see whether they can perform well and defeat comprehend again, this time away from home, so that they can have six points and a strong chance to meet Bayern Munich if Galatasaray fails to win against them. Onana saved the penalty, and Maguire scored. That's good encouraging Man united are now in third position.

I think this is quite natural because Bayern munich visited Galatasaray's headquarters where they had to play carefully and not care whether their game was bad or not. Their target was to win and they succeeded in doing that. Indeed, if you look at it, of course galatasaray was able to play better and was far superior in possession of the ball and they also recorded a lot of shots in this match, but bayern munich is a strong team and full of experience, they can survive pressure situations to steal the win.

Even so, fans are quite satisfied with their performance because in the 3 matches in the Champions League where bayern munich were able to record wins in those 3 matches. And they are at the top of the standings as well as have a big chance of becoming group winners. I think Tuchel really needs to change the style of play for bayern munich in the next match.

Bayern Munich is more appreciated than Galatasaray, but their away trip promises to be challenging. Wilfried Zaha and his teammates vowed to try to win points. What an unbelievable ending in the Manchester United v Copenhagen match! 

Actually, it should be an easy match for Man United. They are against the weakest team in group A and they play at home. In theory, Man United must win the match easily. But in fact, they almost got a draw. lol

For Arsenal, am impressed with their performance and am confident even if they face a team like Real Madrid, that they would do the best to secure a win, no draws. It's good to have goals coming from several players in a team, than it be left alone for the strikers or midfielders to produce the needed goals.

I dare not forget to comment H. Kane for a beautiful display and delivery of goals. He is simply classic and is doing so much to earn his place in the Bayern team.

I think it was a beautiful game today. The both England team played well against their opponent. Kudos to Gabriel Jesus for that wonderful assist to Martinelli. As a striker he was able to score a goal and assist on another. That is wat a quality striker should bring to the team. Am impressed because the the two Brazilians made a very impact to the Arsenal game today and as well as other team member. I highly comment their effort to maintain a win at the end.

Towards the end of the Man United match I was surprised to see a penalty against Man U. It all went down on them with the look of pain and agony in the face of their fans. But well Onana came through for them and still maintained their victory. I could remember in the previous champions league match day the both England teams lost same day but today they secured a win. That alone shows some improvement in their play.

I hope it's not that easy to say that Napoli will easily win this match. Even though it is true that Union Berlin is not as good as Napoli, Napoli itself is currently in a phase that is not very good. Moreover, they lost good players on their front line.
Union Berlin suffered 2 defeats in the Champions League, but that doesn't mean they can't recover to beat Napoli. In fact I also have Napoli as a favorite and I think most people would do the same. But they have to be careful, and also the luck factor might be something that makes this match different.

Union Berlin doesn't seem like a big obstacle for Napoli in the next match. I doubt with Sevilla chance qualifying to knock out round after collecting two points and have stuck on 3rd standings position. Will Sevilla habit on UEFA Europe League only in this season after their tradition always participants in Europe League trough third standings in Champion League group stage?

Left three matches later all teams have chance, but Arsenal is favorite team for qualifying to next round indeed with Lens, Sevilla or PSV Eindhoven due third teams remaining two points on position standings.

In the other matches, Bayern Munich won as expected along with Real Madrid, Inter, Napoli. Sevilla lost but they are third in the ranking, not sure if that could be called a good position or not since it allows them to play in Europa League again.
