Arsenal has managed to get through a tough match against Manchester City, even though they have to be willing to share the points, at least they didn't lose. It's not easy to steal points at the Etihad, where in my opinion Manchester City actually has a better chance of securing 3 points. Bayern Munich on Saturday hosted last season league runners-up Borussia Dortmund in a game that's popularly known as Der Klassiker and for the first time in 10 years, Borussia Dortmund defeated Bayern Munich in their own home ground as the home team couldn't even score a goal in that game while Arsenal on Sunday traveled to the home of reigning English Premier League champions Manchester City and got a point and a clean sheet. The performances of both teams in recent games suggests that Arsenal is the better team but history favors Bayern Munich so if I'm to stake on which team to qualify, I think it'll be Arsenal.

I don't understand what are you trying to explain, but it is not Community League. It is UEFA Champions League, this is the highest football competition in the world. No team has a guarantee to win UCL trophy, including Bayern Munich. In the quarter-final, Bayern Munich will face Arsenal, it shouldn't be easy for Bayern Munich to beat Arsenal. If you look at the EPL standings, you must be aware that Arsenal is strong enough to challenge Bayern Munich.

Leverkusen would definitely extend Xabi Alonso's contract after his latest statement on his future.    He clearly stated that he was ready to go longer with Leverkusen. This will be enough to drop the interests from Liverpool and Bayern Munich quickly. Leverkusen are about to join the Champions League group stage officially.

Xabi Alonso would really make use of some good additions to strengthen the squad this summer. Because the Champions League arena is much tougher than the Bundesliga. If he wants to achieve the best they can there then this is a need for them.

Basically Bayer Leverkusen did not try to extend Xabi's contract but, in fact, Xabi himself has choose to stay one more season at Bayer Leverkusen. You're right. It is quite surprising Xabi Alonso doesn't want to take the chance to be a manager in a better team. He must get higher salary and bigger chance to win prestigious trophies if we moves to Bayern Munich or Liverpool because they have better squad and great club management. However, Xabi Alonso prefers to stay with Bayer Leverkusen and he risks his career there. His loyalty with Bayer Leverkusen may lead him to fail in managing Bayer Leverkusen for the next season. The top teams may be no longer interested in him if Bayer Leverkusen performs badly in the next season. So, it is very brave that Xabi Alonso decided to stay.

No I don't think his value as a manager would drop unless Leverkusen crashes brutally hard and finishes the season out of the top 4 or far worse than that. Everyone knows that realistically speaking, after such a season a lot of big clubs will reach out to those players who are mainly responsible for that remarkable success. Alonso has proven his value already. He took over in Leverkusen when they were crashing hard, and now they are on their way up with players whose names most people have never heard about before.

But since he now decided to fulfill his contract, I believe this will turn into a very important signal for everyone in the team and the club. It is not as easy a decision to leave the club as it would be when Alonso decided to leave the club. I think that most of them will stay and try to let that project prosper further. They have just built the foundation this season.

It is always difficult to maintain the same performance in different seasons, there are many teams that fail to meet those expectations. Several other teams such as Leicester, Napoli and others have failed in different seasons even though they won the domestic title.

There is another team that I doubt too next season, they are Girona from La Liga. Running of a football club involves business profiting and the entertainment side, now since the value of most players in Bayern Leverkusen has increased because of the team's incredible performance this season, that makes it a good profiting opportunity for the club to sell some of those players now their rates are on the high side and not when their rate dropped; therefore,  I don't think they wouldn't want to miss chances of profiting should big name club come with big offers for any of these performing players right now.

Bayern Munich after losing in the domestic league to Dortmund can be concluded that their dominance in the UCL league has ended, their self-confidence is still low at the moment, in contrast to Arsenal who successfully held Man City to a draw in the Domestic league. I think staying at Leverkusen is the lowest risk of them all. Going to any of the teams coming for him would be a very big risk. Can you imagine the pressure that'll come with coaching a club like Madrid or Bayern or even Liverpool?
It's a very good decision to stay at Leverkusen for at least one more season. He just won them the league and took them to the Champions League, it won't be proper to not play the Champions League with them before going to a bigger club.

There is less pressure at Leverkusen. He has won them the league, if they finish next season without a trophy it wouldn't mean anything for a club like Leverkusen. What matters is he brought them to the Champions League and they will compete for it. Who knows, they might surprise us again.
Winning the league will open up doors for better recruitment, so they'll be able to recruit better players. Also, with Alonso staying, the star players of Leverkusen won't leave. When a team has a good project like Leverkusen does, convincing players to sign for them won't be a problem.

Every elite team that made it up to final phase have intentions of lifting the UEFA Champions League. Though they have to fight harder for the Bundesliga title. The Bundesliga title is among Bayer Leverkusen and Bayern Munich. However Bayern Munich have fallen from the top race and they will have to settle for a more unexpected position. Bayer Leverkusen headcoach, Xabi Alonso knows what's best for him and he will definitely do everything within his reach to ensure everything works perfect for the club, more especially interms of winning significant points.
