I do not think so. Successful gamblers whatever your definition may be are not seen as addicts. Even if they are, the world believes that once you are successful at any venture your ability to do wrong or be addicted to something like gambling diminishes. Let's look at Drake. A very successful musician known all over the world for making good music. He has also caught the attention of the gamblers for betting huge amount of money on Football matches, boxing. Some he lost, and some he won. I have never heard anyone say he has a gambling problem. All I hear people say whenever he losses a bet is that he'll make that money back in less than an hour, or he has more than enough money, so it is not a problem. Well, I just think that successful gamblers are not seen as addicts.

To be honest, I haven't been able to get the gist of the successful gambler according to the OP's version. because if we refer to the meaning of the word success, literally, the word success means to be successful in several aspects. you could say, succeeding is success, regardless of any way to get to that success. here, we discuss it related to gambling. according to my version, I interpret it, success symbolizes success and the gambler always wins his bet. thus, he became wealthy. well the thing is, how many people do we know to be successful at gambling. or, we refer to someone as you say. yes, Drake.

I'm also quite confused by the term "successful gamblers" here. Is it true that there are gamblers who are really successful from gambling and change their lives to become rich with stable emotions. If so, that's very good and very much appreciated. And the term success, usually relates to the amount of money that is generated from gambling, and makes him really rich. But in fact there are some people who have been able to manage their emotions while gambling, increasing their money while gambling so that they can get profits that are bigger than the losses on a consistent basis. As well as being able to control their emotions so they are not addicted to gambling. Right, gamblers deny their addiction? Isn't that true of most detrimental behaviors? No one wakes up and says, "Oh, what a lovely day to ruin my life!" It's dramatic, but you get the point. Now, adulthood's great grail: responsibility. Until the ceiling collapses, everyone is liable. Simple to say, difficult to perform. You can't compel someone to take responsibility, just like you can't force a horse to drink. Let's call the community's role fascinating. To me, it is wrong to view or classify successful gamblers as an addict and i will explain why. 

• A successful gambler is someone who has built tangible wealth out of gambling in the betting space; and you are classified as successful if you are able to register more wins than losses in gambling.
• A successful gambler is someone who has a betting / gambling template that they follow; they have guides, they have financial discipline, they have analytical tools for gambling and importantly; they know when to take a break from gambling.
• A successful gambler is someone that has an investment plan; such that for every successful bet, he is able to invest 75% of earnings into an achievable business; get 10% for day to day living costs; then dedicate the remaining 15 % into betting judiciously until his next cash out.

To end the argument, an addict is someone who spends every of his earning on gambling; cannot control his emotion and cannot even go a day without gambling. An addict is someone who spends all his gambling earnings, on gambling and he needs help.

There's a lot of people who sadly still have a very conservative view on life, and they have been raised to believe that gambling is bad, no matter what, which is utterly fucking ridiculous.  These people will call anyone who gambles even say 10 bucks a year, a gambling addict. 

So I think it just all depends.  So many factors come in to play...does gambling effect your family, you, do you have the salary to justify gambling etc.

I will clarify that as an addiction. I believe that the successful gambler will not even miss a single time for gambling. A successful gambler meant someone who has been successfully beating the system and winning the jackpot.
That being said, the chance for that to happen is very small. The gamblers need hardly try to beat the system so many times. This process can be called compulsive gambling which will lead to additional gambling.
That's why i define such a winner has become addicted to gambling caused by you will not have a chance to win the jackpot with only a few bets.

I don't think you call someone who hits a jackpot a successful gambler because that is temporary and happens only once in decades to a single person, I wouldn't consider that to be a factor for someone being called a successful gambler, and, there is absolutely no one that can beat the system, one might be able to do it for the short-term, but if they keep gambling, they will eventually lose everything back to the system without having anything to leave with.

A successful gambler is someone whose winnings are higher than his losings, which means that if he has lost $20k in his entire gambling lifespan, he has won $25k or even more, which means that he is overall in profit and didn't lose a single penny to the casino from his own pocket but have won something from them.

I agree with you, people are belief biased since once they got the thought of gambling being bad they tend up to jump into a conclusion that anyone who gambles are gambling addicts.  They are stuck to that idea all people who gambles are gambling addicts.

But if you are talking about other gamblers that actually promote gambling through events, streams, tournaments and so one, then yeah, they are successful, but if you dig deeper, you will notice that they make money from "working" as a "gambler", not by gambling money. So no, they aren't gambling addict. They are just working like us.

I have come across many winning stories where people got the money they needed to change their lives, but it is also true that they may have experienced losing a lot of money. Because those who lose big money don't want to reveal their losses, everyone is excited about the win but no one wants to talk about the loss.
