Heavy rains are predicted in cities such as Kolkata, Bengaluru and Guwahati for the next week or so, and this will definitely have an impact on the group stage matches in the world cup. These are unseasonal rains, but even then the scheduling of the world cup raised a few eyebrows even before the first ball was bowled in the warmup matches. I don't have any concern for the latter stages of the tournament, as the weather conditions are likely to improve from mid-October onwards. But the next 1-2 weeks may witness a lot of rain in India.

The rainy season is almost over but we are still seeing regular rainfall in several countries including India and Bangladesh. When the Asia Cup was held in Sri Lanka, two matches of India and Pakistan were abandoned due to rain, later in the series between Bangladesh and New Zealand we saw the first match abandoned due to rain and then the World Cup preparatory matches were abandoned due to rain. The Indian states of West Bengal, where the games are scheduled to take place, have the highest chance of rain. The beauty of this tournament would have been enhanced if the entire season had been rain-free. I don't like the results that the ICC determines in the law of rain.

Subcontinent is currently under serious raining weather and this all happening just because of climate change which is having too many changes around the globe, but we are serious under big threats just because of this currently even we have no raining season, but rains are hurting badly in this region floods and other problems are killing many and also creating problems for millions as well.

Hopefully we will have no too many interruptions in this World Cup like we have in Asia Cup but nothing is sure how things will be manageable because if we have rains then surely media can face huge loses and with this all many other problems are also can happen.

ICC can't do anything with this all because weather is not under any control, but they already have rules for this rains interrupted matches which will work in case of any interruption.

Well, in limited overs cricket, there are hardly any warm up matches, except when there is some ICC tournament and the ICC are not big on giving tag of List A status as it directly affects the funding because of the DRS etc, that's why DRS was not available for the warm up matches. Although, in Test warm up matches, boards can decide whatever (In this case First Class status) even if there is no DRS. 

Babar is fit, he voluntarily retired so that other batters could get a chance to bat.

But the interesting thing is that when Bangladesh vs Pakistan or India vs Pakistan games are held, I can't controlled myself at least. Because playing such games gives us a lot of encouragement and we get a lot of fun when such games are played. People of Bangladesh watch these sports very well when they play Bangladesh vs Pakistan, India vs Pakistan and India vs Bangladesh, even if they don't watch other sports.

If it's a competitive track then the contest should be a cracker and Kiwis might have a slight opening because of Boult. 

The Kiwis choose to bowl first after winning the toss, are they expecting something from the wicket early on? I was also expecting a batting wicket with nothing to offer to the bowlers. England would be trying to repeat their performance against the Kiwis when they played against each other in a bilateral series. Who do you think would score the highest runs today and which bowler will be successful today? I have no idea which batter would be scoring high today but Mark Wood would be my choice out of all the bowlers.

I am not sure whether they can perform well without Kane Williamson. England is inching towards a good total, thanks to the 5th wicket partnership between Jos Buttler and Joe Root. The New Zealand captain is sticking with James Neesham, rather than using wicket-taking bowlers such as Mitchell Santner or Matt Henry. And I don't understand why Rachin Ravindra was picked ahead of Ish Sodhi. The latter was a much better bowling option, and Rachin got the nod probably because he is a better batsman.

Their run rate after 40 overs was pretty much decent. They could have easily scored a hundred more runs in the last ten overs. But the only problem is they lost wickets on several occasions. Joe Root was doing very well. He needed to finish the innings to build a respectable score on this pitch. Now I feel like they won't be able to score 300 runs from there because they already lost seven wickets. They have seven overs in hand as well. I won't be surprised if their tail-enders start hitting boundaries as they are not a team like Bangladesh who will collapse in two overs. I don't know why I am criticizing Bangladesh here. LOL

Excellent captaincy by Tom Latham with good support from the bowlers. Kane Williamson's absence could help the Kiwi side as they now have a higher chance of winning this match. At first, in the early stage of the game, the English batters looked confident and a target of 300
runs or more was looking possible. Now it is clear the target is not 300 but 283 and this target can make a big difference in this game if NZ batters can bat sensibly.
