After winning the first game 4-0, it's normal to relax a little and lose the return game. I didn’t watch it, but judging by the timing of the goals, Villarreal was far from a comeback (6 minutes before the end of the game, in order to at least make a draw, they had to score 2 goals). Yes, they scored the third goal, but in the end the game ended with only +2 instead of the required +4.
I don’t know if this is a fair result, but if we compare how teams are doing in national championships, then Marseille at least has a very decent goal difference (while Villarreal has a negative one).

They do deserve appreciation, it's just that at this time when the season is getting closer, the competition will indirectly get tighter.
Benfica is not an easy opponent for Marseille at the moment especially with their current performance if you look at the domestic competition it looks like Marseille is still not okay with the performance they are running at the moment.

This match will be interesting because even though this match does not have too many star names in it but still this will definitely make us comfortable watching it because after all Marseille with conditions in Ligue 1 that are not too good in terms of position then surely they will expect a good achievement in the Europa League.
Currently looking at the records of both matches, I think home games will definitely be utilized as well as possible because it is the only way they can press and get optimal results and so far in the play offs and round of 16 Marseille can always get a good advantage when playing home.

This is indeed surprising, but what Marseille must think about before this season's Europa League match again is how to improve their abilities to be better so that they can win at home to Benfica later. Because a team like Benfica also has to be wary of Marseille, especially in the Europa League this season, so from now on Marseille must be able to get a really good change in performance through several other matches in their own domestic league before they start coming back here again.

Marseille after they defeated Villarreal with a 4:0 scoreline in the first half of their game were too relaxed in the second half of the game and  that was what gave Villarreal the belief that they can actually come back into that game. In the second leg of the UEFA Europa League round of 16 tie between Villarreal and Marseille, the Spanish La Liga club were few minutes away from completing what would've gone down in history as one of the greatest comebacks in football but their French opponents didn't actually give them that chance instead, they scored a a late goal in the stoppage time to ease the pressure they were receiving from Villarreal.
Now that Marseille have progressed to the quarter finals of the competition, they've been drawn against Portuguese club Benfica. Against Benfica, it'll be a very difficult tie for Marseille but if they can get at least a draw in the first leg of that tie that'll be played at Benfica's home ground, I think they will stand a good chance of progressing to the semi finals because I believe they'll beat Benfica Benfica when they host them

Barriers are always targeted at elite teams that would ensure they fights for breaking. There's more challenge for elite teams especially the ones that have become promising in top tournaments this season. They're not giving up but pressing pressures to make sure they're winning. Olympique Marseille management appoints a new coach who has good vision for the club. The new coach, Jean-Louis Gasset is pointing out good angles for the club's growth this season, always expecting solid results to lay his hands on and moving towards triumph.

For every prominent elite team, there's presence of hard work and consistency in games, they will be bringing on the top clubs to limelight. Marseille have improved and will not take out any presentable force lines, Marseille are longings to reach the Europa League grand finale and this will be huge accomplishment for them over these past years. Don't underestimate Marseille, they've sent some strong clubs back to their league before. It's proving how capable marseille to beat another club in the europa league this season. marseille was also winning the game easily against villareal in the previous game which is also sending us a message if this club is very capable to beat the big club even though people being so skeptical cused by marseille came from farmer league.



Benfica is expected to win against Marseille, but they've ever played once against each other a decade ago, so who knows what will happen in the upcoming game. The last time Marseille and Benfica played each other was over a decade ago, so you can't really use that to predict what's going to happen in the upcoming match considering the fact that if they are all strong.  so they're both likely to score, but Benfica may just win by a narrow margin. Marseille could still win, though, so it's going to be a close game between those clubs.

Marseille isn't looking like a team thst has got the firm well enough to be able to get to the next stage of the Europa which happens to be the semi finals at this point because their inconsistent a d they have got a very poor rythym in their style of play a s they aswell don't have a good tactics enough to use against benfica such that they will be able to get victory over them in their game but then I'm optimistic Marseille to an extent.

In the french league which happens to be where they participating as their local league, Marseille isn't amongst the top teams this season , they have been really inconsistent with their performance as against their performance before with which they were known for because they were a very good team and was almost amongst the top three team in the french league almost every season but then it has turned out that they are now in a very poor form and may not be able to really get such performance again which they will struggle against benfica.

I do not intend to underestimate one of the representative teams from the French League, if Marseille is able to win the Europa League competition. in fact, we all know that their probability is very slim. however, that doesn't mean they don't have a chance at all. Moreover, football is unique and difficult for us to predict. On April 12, the quarter-final matches will be held, one of which is the match between Benfica vs Marseille. in the meeting of these two teams, the home team Bencifa was more favored than Marseille. Marseille had a fair encounter weeks ago when they were up against Metz. Both sides also managed to net in goals for themselves. Next month in the quarter finals face off, they'll be battling first away from home to Benfica and considering how much of an impact the host team has made in their games so far, it's just so fair to note that they wouldn't take their chances against thr French side.

Marseille on their own end have been able to stay up in shape and deliver right performances in their league games, an inflow of goals is imminent and yes the both teams have thesame probability of chances. It all depends on the team who'd do extremely better and also try to stay put on their upgraded performances in both the first and second legs respectively.

With their experience, they will not be much weaker than Marseille in quarter final. Benfica have good players too and they are well-known as a transitional club for youth players before they matured enough and can move to biggest clubs in Europe.

On a serious note, Atalanta is not a big threat to Liverpool who is obviously better that them in all ramifications. Everyone can easily believe that Liverpool will subdue them following their experience in both their local league and international competitions. On the basis of quality of players, Liverpool is still far ahead, so it is convenient to say that Liverpool will win the match. But as it is a competition, it is expected that Atalanta will put up a strong resistance at least if they have to lose, let it be that they gave a good fight and die while fighting. Liverpool might win, but they will not find it easy because at this stage of the competition, anything can happen.

It is true that Atalanta is not a big enough threat for Liverpool. The big threat for Liverpool might be when they meet Milan or Leverkusen in the European League because these clubs also have good performance in the domestic league so Liverpool cannot get past them easily. Atalanta as a whole is not very consistent in the domestic league so this can be used as a benchmark that Liverpool has a greater chance of beating Atalanta and vice versa Atalanta has a small chance of beating Liverpool.

The difference in player quality is clear. Liverpool has a superior squad and is better than Atalanta. Liverpool's players are very strong in all lines and Atalanta will have difficulty keeping up with the game that Liverpool will play on the field because the attacking power of Liverpool's players is very strong, so Atalanta must be careful. in the match against Liverpool.

Whatever happens, Atalanta must keep fighting and not just give up, they must try until the last drop of blood before the match ends, the chance of a surprise is still a mysterious threat for any club, therefore Atalanta must try hard, who knows, luck will be on Atalanta's side at this time that.

One of things I'm curious about this season is whether De Rossi will manage to carry Roma to the finale just as Mourinho did in the previous season. Maybe things didn't went well for Mourinho in the Serie A back then but he was still doing quite nice in European tournaments. This would be really important for De Rossi to increase his chances to get a new contract from the board. His contract is until the end of the season for now you know. If he carries Roma to the finale here and into top 4 in the Serie A I see no reason for the board to not continue with him.

If judge the performance of the two, it is clear that Benfica will be far superior compared to Marseille and in their match, many people make Benfica the favorite with big chance of qualifying for the semifinals.
But even if Benfica can qualify for the semifinals then it is bad start for them to be eliminated, if the semifinals only involve Milan, who are clearly favorites to beat Roma then it will still be fairly easy match.

He's no longer looking really productive as he should be any more and he's beginning to be inconsistent a d before than I noticed a pattern with him and that was why I actually wasn't too excited about his results and I didn't keep my expectations from him too high enough because I noticed that he was really finding it difficult with bigger teams but was going smoothly whenever he comes across weak or mediocre team, that alone made me understand that he may be having some kind of challenge outside their domestic league because in elite leagues like the Europa you need consistency with both the tough and weak teams to be able to stay at the top.

Mourinho when he was in charge of Roma, had got this way of handling the team such that they became fierce at any team that they happen to come across in the Europa and that was why they were at some point able to make it to the finals regardless of the teams they met on their way but with Rossi he's yet to find his way around bigger teams when he gets to meet them and that's his challenge for now.

They can beat Leverkusen again but beating AC Milan look to be impossible for Roma and De Rossi. AC Milan and AS Roma understand each other very well because they are both from Italy and playing against each other many times in Serie A. Roma historically don't have good head to head stats against AC Milan and it is not good signal for them before two quarter final matches with Milan in Europa League.

Playing against Leverkusen that is from Germany and Bundesliga can be easier for Roma if we exclude a fact that Leverkusen are stronger than themselves last season. Roma will have to pass through AC Milan before playing with Leverkusen and the first condition is very hard for them.

Actually, I can see why everyone is so excited about Marseille's run. They've surprised a lot of people by getting this far. Are you Benfica? I know that won't be easy, but I'm also cautiously hopeful. Recently, Marseille has been playing well, and they beat Villareal. Excellent morale boost.
