I haven't had a chance to work out for a long time, thanks to this thread I'm back. The bull run in the market feels good too. I continue to do 100 push-ups, not every day, but every other day and let the muscles regenerate.
Don't just focus on upper body and skip leg day btw, you know the biggest muscles of the body are in your legs. Smiley

Yea that is pretty correct though, push up must not only be for the upper body but legs should also be involved. but in this push up, the upper region is needed the most to build the muscles and the chest. In this type of push up the leg stand a chance to remain dormant till the push up is completed. But If you wish you could push up with your leg, it's just a matter of choice.

What I love most about pushups is that it doesn't just built the upper part of your body, it built every part of your body as long as you can keep doing it back too back till you get to your desired target.

Another thing about pushups is that, it's quite easier for a light weight person, than a person that have more weight or someone that has potbelly, so if you really want to keep up to the daily pushups till Bitcoin rise to 100k, you have to do some workout, because it's not that easy to push yourself up when you have too much weight,  so working out is also needed to strike a balance if you have too much weight.

Yeah I have been thinking about this too. I was wondering how to make sure that the lower part of the body is also carried along. Same way our upper body is building up it will be good if our lower body is building too, especially the leg. Gradually my body is turning into a lion shape. A huge upper body and a small waste and leg. How do I make sure the leg  trained as well?

Push-up benefits is not limited to the arms, legs or chest muscles, it increases the speed of blood circulation from the heart to the whole body. As a result you feel more refreshed. Blood vessels are clean and prevents fat coagulation. If your blood vessels are affected by fat, there is a possibility of heart failure and you can suffer major physical accidents. Even when you gasp while doing push-ups it maintains the consistency of oxygen in your lungs. Considering all aspects, the practice of push-up is very necessary for our whole body. So let us develop its habit and live a healthy and beautiful life.

Thats right buddy, it seems i have been putting more attention to my upper part of the body. I need to start putting equal efforts or work on the upper part and the lower part of my body. Not just because i want to do it for doing sake it's because i don't want to be looking like a hammer Cheesy. Big chest and arms and small waist and thin legs. I have seen people like that and that shapes doesn't go so well. A person should be at least 87% perfect in building all part of the body to avoid looking awkward.

40 days in the books for me since starting this challenge. That’s 4,000 push-ups! I’m glad to see Bitcoin rallying so hard with the hope that we will soon be able to declare victory over this challenge. With a little luck we’ll get there before the halving so we can all get some much needed rest for our muscles.
Just 10 days for me.. In a very short time I have tried to make some variation in my quality of life, although I have increased my push-ups but only slightly.I'm a bit fat so it's hard for me..actually I'm doing 6 push-ups, 2 times a day, afternoon and night. Just I going to walk in the morning. I'm feeling nice participating with you, I haven't lost weight yet but I hope it will if I do regular push-ups.

You started this thread with a push-up of $100k of bitcoins with a good will and I think your aim was initially successful. Now bitcoin price is going up and down from $70k to $72k...maybe it will take some time to reach $100k...I think if the price doesn't reach $100 a in this session then you can open 2nd session again or next 3rd session..Just like we can't do 100 push-ups at once, splitting the session. You can split the session too.

I just shared my idea.

The retracement going on now just extended the number of days of pain for the greater gain, a classical test of our endurance and commitment to this course. When this thread was created, the excitement was huge and the expectations of many was that price was headed to the target in less than no time. Well, those who might have forgotten that Bitcoin price does not just move in one direction will now have to reposition their mindset in order to HODL the push-ups while Bitcoin finishes the correction before proceeding to the target. In other words, do not give up, do not be discouraged to back out from the exercise as Bitcoin lingers to hit $100k.

Who's in?!?!?
Am in only that my pot-belly won't let me all in  Grin  but walking for a hundred steps each morning isn't bad either.

Smile concerning your pot-belly there are other exercises that can also be of help to reduce it such as abdominal exercise and also know the type of diet you take in as food.
Walking also is not bad idea just as you have said, walking can also be a good way expecially for beginners to exercise without feeling tired and it doesn't also require buying equipment just like push-up exercise too.
For me am still on my push-up and I will still keep on the push till Bitcoin hit $100k no relenting.

You can split the session too.

I just shared my idea.

It is good that you are doing something rather than nothing, but it seems that you need a certain number of reps for each of your sets and then maybe even adding more sets per day, and I am not sure how you get that, because 2 sets of 6 pushups in a day do not seem like very many.. .. and maybe there could be ways to do modified pushups in order to get more reps.. if you are not already doing modified pushups in order to increase your reps.. and maybe work up to 3 to 5 sets per day or something like that.. and maybe add 1 more push up to your sets every few days.... If you are doing full body pushups and ONLY getting 6 pushups, then that might be too much strain on you body, and so it would be good to work up to a set of 10, even if they are modified... 3 to 5 sets of 6-12 pushups per day might be really making progress... and so that would be 30 to 60 push-ups.

In contemplation of your goals and maybe how much weight you are pushing, this article has some suggestions regarding number of repetitions and sets.

Quote
If your objective is strength or power (think: heavy lifting), the textbook advice is to perform 3 to 5 sets of 2 to 6 reps per exercise. For hypertrophy (building muscle), the sweet spot is 3 to 4 sets of 6 to 12 reps. And if your objective is muscular endurance, shoot for 2 to 3 sets of 12 to 20 reps.

The article talks about adjusting the weight to meet your goal, and of course some of our considerations in this push-up challenge may well be a little bit different since some of us are spreading our sets of push ups through the whole day. My own reason is that I get tired, but surely some younger whipper snappers would be able to do their 100 pushups in a few sets, and they might not even need to spread out their sets very much and get their 100 pushups within an hour...

Many of us seem to NOT be in that good of shape, and we are not necessarily young whipper-snappers, and so yeah there could be a question of priority too if you are combining other exercises with your pushups because if you are just building up from a state of not doing exercises and then now you are doing daily exercises, you don't want to overdo it since if this is mostly a daily routine and we should want to stay in the game, at least until $100k.. and maybe if we build up some good habits some of us might want to continue some variation of daily pushups, it would be good to have some pushups in there every day and maybe some attempt to emphasize push ups and maybe trying to get up to more than 20 per day in order to work towards getting to 100 - even though for some of us, it might not be possible to get to 100 per day any time soon. so we just do what we can, while hopefully continuing to build ourselves, without overdoing it..

1) Self-Custody is a right.  There is no such thing as "non-custodial" or "un-hosted."  2) ESG, KYC & AML are attack-vectors on Bitcoin to be avoided or minimized.  3) How much alt (shit)coin diversification is necessary? if you are into Bitcoin, then 0%......if you cannot control your gambling, then perhaps limit your alt(shit)coin exposure to less than 10% of your bitcoin size...Put BTC here: bc1q49wt0ddnj07wzzp6z7affw9ven7fztyhevqu9k

To me I am already becoming tired of the push up. I don't know what is wrong with me, I am just being lazy this days to meet up to my daily target per day, but each time I come to this thread I see that people are very much active on the push up challenge, it gives me the impression to still further more because it is good for the health. If it where not for the motivation of people a lazy fellow like me could have quited lolz.100 push up all the way!

Maybe you are trying to do too much?

In the last few days, my number of pushups per day have been coming down and also the number that I do per set is coming down, and I still feel very sore, so I am just trying to adjust to a period in which my total number of push ups is going to be lower until I might start to feel more energy to do more pushups... I still have a daily average of 135 push-ups per day, so I do not feel that I am short-changing myself, even if my average also ends up coming down.

So other guys who might be doing 40 or 50 pushups per day, it would be difficult to consider that number to be too small, even though sometimes guys might have to split their pushups into more sets per day.. and I am not sure if it would be a good idea to have more than 5 sets in a day.. even though guys could differ in that kind of a judgment, so we can consider 3-5 sets per day as a reasonable goal... with my own continuing to be 5 sets per day, but I could see that if I might feel busy on some days I might want to do fewer sets and so even 3 sets in a day seems acceptable.. especially for any of us who are continuing to do the pushups daily even if our quantity might not be at exactly 100, we are doing an amount that feels reasonable and/or meaningful to our own situation.

Yeah, it varies every day, there are days that I really feel very strong, I can do straight like 15-20 reps, take a small 2 minutes rest (heartbeat still very high) and then go on and continue to go another 15-20 reps, easy.

But this morning, I have difficulty making 10 reps so I have to break it down in the morning and then afternoon to make it 100 a day. But the pump though, it's crazy when I look at the mirror and feeling swollen, Lol. I guess that another side effect of doing this till bitcoin hits $100k. We feel as if we really have done that will change our body for the better.  Grin

That means you already started the process before bringing it here. If I may ask, how did you come by this idea? I'm asking because I find it interesting that you were actually thinking of ways of adding value to the bitcoin community.

I posted the video of the guy who I think started the challenge. We were discussing it in the WO thread before I started it here. That’s why some of us were already doing it prior to this thread.

I’ve been trying to think of ways to add value to this community for a dozen years, but I would cry legitimate tears if this thread was what people remembered as my contribution here. Still, thanks for the kind words and recognition of my attempt to provide value.

4,075
There is a popular saying that health is wealth and what you have done with this thread is to bring that statement to reality. If a man is wealthy yet battling with poor health, there is no way he can enjoy the wealth in happiness, so anything that can improve the health condition of man is a huge contribution. Therefore, what you have done has direct impact on the lives of a lot of people following this thread and doing the needful. I have read several testimonies of many people here already who have confirmed that the daily exercise has helped them improve their overall health conditions, I am one of those beneficiaries as well. So, your contribution to the bitcoin community is great and highly appreciated. This forum will keep it on record that there was someone whose post motivated the bitcoin community to engage in physical exercise as they await bitcoin to get to $100k. Probably when bitcoin would have gotten to $500k - $1m, people will remember this thread again and wish they bouth bitcoin during the days of exercise when ot was still cheaper.

I have always had some kind of exercise in my life, but I think that in the last 5-6 years I had been doing a lot of walking-kinds of activities, and maybe only the past 9 months, I started lifting weights and stretching more, instead of walking so much.. so when the pushup challenge came, I had not been doing pushups or any other kind of body resistant exercise, but I thought that it was a good idea to try it out.. even though I was really not that excited about pushups until I started to really think about it more seriously.. then I began to warm up to the idea... so yeah I was not able to do 100 push ups in my first several days, and I had not been doing pushups for many years..  maybe close to 20 years. I cannot even remember the last time I was really doing body weight type exercises. even though I have had some other kinds of exercises that were more cardio in nature, even though I did have periods of time around 2017, 2018, 2019 of going to the gym to lift weights and swimming too.
I guess this was why it was easy for you to get started at once.  Before now I have been struggling to make time for exercise due to busy schedules. But because of this challenge, I do exercise first thing in the morning before I take my shower and prepare for work and in the evening before I take my shower and go to bet, and somedays I do in the day time when the chance permits me. I was not this committed to exercise before, the reason I appreciate the idea of this challenge so much.

Smiley
That's right, leg muscles are the most important muscles compared to other body muscles, because the legs are our pillars to support all parts of our body. So apart from other strong muscles, the legs must also have balanced muscles.
And we need to know this because many people think that the push up movement is only for training the chest muscles and triceps. However, if we can do it correctly, push ups can train the shoulder muscles, back muscles, hip muscles and leg muscles.
The question is, when doing push ups, do you feel the calf and thigh muscles move when you do the push up correctly and with your legs straight. And you can also adjust the position of your feet when doing push ups by opening and closing them several times while doing push ups, and feel it well, this can actually train your calf and thigh muscles to become strong. Or you can do movements such as running while in a push up position, and doing planks can also train your leg and thigh muscles, and push ups are multifunctional, you know, if you know how to do them. Including ejaculation, becoming hard and strong and so on. Grin

You started this thread with a push-up of $100k of bitcoins with a good will and I think your aim was initially successful. Now bitcoin price is going up and down from $70k to $72k...maybe it will take some time to reach $100k...I think if the price doesn't reach $100 a in this session then you can open 2nd session again or next 3rd session..

I just shared my idea.

Yeah those are your ideas, as am typing Bitcoin is 67900k
But I really want to say that no one should panic because every smart Bitcoin investor sees the up and down Bitcoin movements as nothing but a good visitor in the sense that instead of worrying at the price movement they take advantage of purchasing more of Satoshi in to their portfolio, it is a month of march and am well convinced that Bitcoin is also going to march forward Roll Eyes Roll Eyes Roll Eyes Roll Eyes by getting to $100k or more before the halving. Congratulations to those of us that has Bitcoin in their portfolio.

One good thing about pushups is that you can do them anywhere.. but yeah, sometimes you might feel that you are not in the right kinds of clothes or that you have to find some private space since it does not seem as usual to see people doing them in the metro system while waiting for a train (or at the bus stop), or in the office (maybe there is a spare conference room that is not being used?), or a parking lot or even in a public bathroom or in the hallway of an airport, but still there could be opportunities in some of these kinds of public places or maybe less public areas to do a quick set of pushups.

I don't really know if I'm the only one who's seeing this on Bitcoin price that's heading down where we don't want it to be or is it just trying to show those who never saw it getting past $67-69k? Huh...? I hope it gets back up again, or is it that some of us are not getting the job done like completing the push-up to 100? Or are some of us stopping at 60 that's why we have it at $68k now🤔🤔? Who's monitoring this push-up? We need to get it back up to $70k+ ones more.
I believe some of us are having this disappointing look on our faces after seeing the market price losing it's force of get to $100k, it must surely turn around anytime soon to a much higher price, ones it gets to $70k the journey to $100k continues.

That's right, push ups are a free sport and can be done anytime and anywhere but have many benefits. And we can do it while waiting for the bus or train and other time-consuming waiting times and we can use this time by doing push ups according to our ability, no need to overdo it because of the circumstances.
And as you said, it depends on the position of the clothes we use because push ups require comfortable clothes.

A dump for ants... in other words, does not really even count for a dump.. yet.

I get your point. But experts say that 30 days of consecutive work out ( push ups in context here)is enough to cause obvious changes in your body, enough that any one would notice, although standard time for changes in the body due to work out is 2 weeks. It doesn't have to take three months to start 'developing', for example, it doesn't take three months for someone trying to loose weight to start  cutting down... Take it from me, I work out a lot, and I've spent my life around that kind of environment. These are muscles were talking about, they expand and contract. Push up does this: stretches your muscles to a point it doesn't revert to it's original size, and that doesn't take three months of consecutive routine to start happening. Infact , somebody who's done 100 push ups for 3 months, that's about 9000 push ups, will definitely not "start developing" if you know what I mean.
Mate, if you work out a lot, you will know that one month is not enough to develop your body. One-month training is a stage to test you to see if you can continue with the push-up because of the pains you go through. After that one month, your body will be used to it and set for development. If it is easy to start developing your body within one month and another person notices it, nobody will quite work out because they are not getting a good result early. And also know that push-ups don't give permanent big muscles; if you stop doing push-ups after gaining big muscles, those muscles will reduce, and you will not like your body the way it is.
