In the short term, my algorithms point to a "sell." But if you aren't too concerned about that, the best answer is "buy." Time always favors the BTC BTC bull. In this thread we are discussing long term investment so it is best not to give advice on short term investment or buying and selling at a small profit. Instead of giving advice on short term investment or gambling, please give advice on long term investment. Because many new people come to this thread to gain knowledge about investment and how to hold their investment in the long term. But when they see about short term investment then they may get confused and get attracted towards short term investment and may face loss.

I believe that long term investors really don't need to worry about short term sell signals or minor price fluctuations. The Bitcoin market is bound to experience such volatility. Today an algorithm might signal a sell and tomorrow a buy if one tries to follow every single signal, the investment ceases to be long-term in nature. To me the key factor with Bitcoin is time. Those accumulating Bitcoin for the future do not need to track the market's daily direction. It is far more important to gradually build a position using discretionary income through DCA. While market dips may offer buying opportunities attempting to time every single dip or peak is not the role of a long term investor. A lucky few might indeed make a profit from short term trading but that is a different matter entirely and timing plays a crucial role there. The advantage for a long term Bitcoin investor is that they do not have to predict the market on a daily basis. By maintaining patience and consistency over several market cycles rather than chasing quick profits short term market noise becomes largely irrelevant. To me this is the greatest strength of long term Bitcoin investment it is not about making the right decision every single day but rather about having a solid plan and sticking to it over the long haul.

i agree with you but not completely because if profit is been removed in bitcoin, you will agree with me that no one will be investing in bitcoin anymore but because profit is involved people will always try to invest and hoping for a better outcome even though it is not guarantee.
Speak for yourself bro. If you are profit oriented doesn't mean that others are thinking in such a way because many investors out their are holding Bitcoin because of it decentralized nature, while some are holding it as a store of value, so it's best that you speak only for yourself because people are not as myopic as you. Why Generalizing things? Since you know that nothing is guaranteed in Bitcoin, then why do you think that it is all about profit for every investor? Bitcoin is a long-term investment which we know, but one thing you should know is that there many reason why many people choose Bitcoin, there are people who started investing in Bitcoin because of it's decentralized nature, folks gets fade up with the over control and manipulation of fiat currency by the government, this made them to look for a better alternative which Bitcoin happens to be, apart from this reason, some are investing because of the value of Bitcoin on a longterm, as a hedge against inflation and so on, my point is that, the benefits of Bitcoin is not limited to only profit.

Nah, we don't care about algorithm, what's important to us is how many Bitcoin you can save in your lifetime. And it's going to be a long game for most of us here. Majority doesn't have that big money to buy 1 BTC. But we have the DCA method, and with discretionary funds that you can muster, then you can buy as much as you want within your capacity. Everyone is built different, but if you look at the historical logs of Bitcoin, you don't need to be a rocket scientist to know that the best method is going long and continue to accumulate throughout the years.

Since this Thread has include selling as part of the topic head then, you should sell when you have enough holding or you have reached your target, then you can think of selling some part of your holding and set a new target.

Having big money to buy a whole bitcoin is not a criteria in bitcoin investment, the worth of bitcoin for someone to be thinking on getting one at a start is not realistic especially for average human. so it is better for someone to accumulating little by little till they achieve their target and in this pattern of holding, it won't pose any pressure or stress on someone as long as they will be using their discretionary income in doing it. like you said everyone is built different so as their level of understanding which means some need to be educated.

Can we stop pretending for once and be realistic? It's not about being profit oriented, it's what is keeping majority in bitcoin. The profit part is what even makes bitcoin more popular the way it is today. Why is a good number of Bitcoin floating on exchanges instead of self custody? If the decentralization nature of Bitcoin is what the majority are after, we'll have less people romancing with the exchange but see how their numbers keep increasing day by day. How about the big companies, the ETFs, the Microstrategy etc buying bitcoin in large quantities? You think they care about the decentralized nature of it? They're after profit and trying to escape inflation absolutely.

Since this Thread has include selling as part of the topic head then, you should sell when you have enough holding or you have reached your target, then you can think of selling some part of your holding and set a new target.
At the beginning, I want to clarify one thing for you, that just because the title of this thread says "Sell Sell Sell" does not mean that the discussions in this thread are encouraging selling. This name is just a title. The title does not actually indicate any strategy. Almost all of those who have been discussing here for years are in the savings stage. In fact, most of them advise saving, not selling. At the beginning, you encouraged selling based on the title of the thread, but in the next part you said again that selling should never be done. so the thread is simply encouraging us to buy at all time and sell when you feel It best.
This is not a strategy, we will sell whenever we feel like it. If we decide to sell by "feeling like it", then it is not an investment, but a trade. In fact, many people decide by "feeling like it", sell at the bottom of the market out of fear, and buy at the top out of greed.

That's right. Because if they were investing, they certainly wouldn't have any intention or goal in that context. I think those who sell certainly have something they need to achieve, such as a need that leaves no other option but to sell. Therefore, we must be very careful about the issue of needs and satisfaction. This distinction should serve as a foundation for avoiding losses in our actions.

If person have what they need to achieve then what is stopping them from saving emergency funds rather than to be putting all their money into ongoingly buying bitcoin and later selling when needs come. An investor is not supposed to see emergency funds as an optional something, it is very important because expenses that you cannot neglect can rise up and when person set aside emergency funds, the person will be able to do that expenses and won't have to touch their bitcoin. And also emergency funds should not be saved in bitcoin, preferably it should be saved in that your local currency so that you can sharply be able to make use of the money at the time you need it.

Go easy on the guy, he’s not totally wrong, it’s because of the benefits of bitcoin that makes it relevant and that benefit is what a lot of folks wants to tap whether it is as a store of value or to grow your wealth, it’s all profits. To be sincere if Bitcoin wasn’t profitable but only decentralised a lot of people wouldn’t adopt or use it. What’s the need?!!. I understand that one can’t just come into bitcoin with a profit mindset only a trader does and even SDS11 mentioned that. In the short term, my algorithms point to a "sell." But if you aren't too concerned about that, the best answer is "buy." Time always favors the BTC BTC bull. As a newbie that is just starting, you should be more concerned on buying and building a reasonable stash of Bitcoin, because at this point you are seriously far behind, so I urge you to prioritize building your stash of Bitcoin than talking about selling, when you don't have anything reasonable to do so. Being a newbie doesn’t necessarily mean he’s new to bitcoin investment, he might be a seasoned investor or trader already who just stumbled upon the forum. (His comments suggests he’s a trader). Let’s not always assume all newbie accounts are new to bitcoin investment.

Having an emergency funds is very important for long term holding of bitcoin because without an investor being able to set up an emergency funds they may not be able to hold bitcoin for a long time. It won't make sense for someone to put all their money into bitcoin only to sell at a loss as a result of unexpected needs arising or they have invested more the money they can afford to. Savings emergency funds in bitcoin isn't a good idea because the price of bitcoin isn't stable and an emergency can occur during bear season and the person may end up selling at loss. So the best thing is to save emergency funds in local currency or were they can easily be accessible.

Where do you stand; investor , hodler or retail trader? Generally speaking, I believe people that are looking to sell are either long term hodlers and just taking out some of their "partial profits" 📈 or disgruntled investor's that aren't happy with Bitcoins performance or were promised to see their stash value grow 1000X like those posts we see on the socials of invest $100 and get back $10 000 in 2weeks BTW you mentioned Algorithms, are you using a bot for signals of when to buy or sell ?

The longer the timeframe, the higher the price of Bitcoin overtime. Secondly, tapping partial profit can make you lose focus on keeping your bitcoin accumulation ongoing because after taking little profit, you will be tempted to sell again and before you know it, you might deviate from a long term investor into a trader because before you know it you will start looking for how to time the market to buy cheaper. This is why we must be careful with whatever, decisions that we are making as a Bitcoin long term investor. Just keep on buying and forget about profit because that's is the last part of it. When you put profit in your mind, you will become a trader because you have a trader mindset.

Many will have their own opinions on Bitcoin investment but an investor with discretionary funds at the end of the week should refrain from believing in such imaginary things. Make decisions based on your own analysis system. There is no record of losses in Bitcoin investing for the long term. Some people show instability for short term trading. The objective is very simple. They want to make profits but Bitcoin rewards patience. I was asked by a new investor why he would invest in Bitcoin if its price will fall much in the future. He showed his own opinion on short-term trading. I decided not to interfere with his freedom because he has the capital to decide. The fallout of short-term decisions is not seen very soon when a trader is very happy and celebrates by withdrawing a limited amount of profit. The next step may be good for him but greed gradually consumes him and greed is what drives traders down. While long-term results may not be seen immediately, a decent size Bitcoin portfolio can ensure a sustainable position through patience.

As an investor you are supposed to accumulate more bitcoin and get to your bitcoin over-accumulation target before you could even think of taking some little profits from your investment which won't be wrong if he does that.

There is no record of losses in Bitcoin investing for the long term. What you said here is true, their is definitely no record of loss for those that invested and held for a long time, but I also want you to understand that nothing is guaranteed in this life, because a good result today doesn't guarantees the future outcome tomorrow, that is why we are adviced not to go all in on our Bitcoin investment because nothing is 100% guarantee. We that are investing in it are doing so because of it record and huge potential, but since we live in a world where anything can happen, we should do well to invest only what we can afford (discretionary income). So that if by chance our investment did not go as planned, you will not contemplate suicide or be damaged financially.

The uncertainty is the risk we have to take , yeah you are correct there’s no guarantee in bitcoin just like any other investment too . We can’t tell if bitcoin will continue to perform well and beat folks expectations , like it did years back . But the truth is that there’s still room for growth , bitcoin is quite still in its early stage so you won’t want this opportunity to pass you by , accumulate with what you can afford to lose and be ready for any outcome like a true investor.
A true investor does not mean that Bitcoin can never be sold or that Bitcoin must be held in all situations. A good investor will rather know in advance why he is buying Bitcoin or for how many years he will keep it and if necessary, what percentage he can sell or when to change the plan based on his financial situation. So it is right to believe in the potential of Bitcoin but it is inappropriate to take that belief as an assurance. However, long term credence and risk management should take together with investment according to one's ability.
