Just get a fucking plan and stick to it long term, but if you decide to play with your portfolio and do short-term trades to increase your earnings, then that's on you too, because, like what is said yeah almost all the time, that's the same thing as gambling, and you can never get it right with gambling, so you can just kiss your portfolio bye-bye. I don't particularly agree when people say interest shouldn't be what drives anyone to invest although I get the point but basically anyone and everyone who's in for Bitcoin investments aim at getting interest even if it's at long term interval.
Why most of us don't like it when profit is mostly emphasized on, is because, you see some people who are in their early stage of Bitcoin accumulation discussing profit as if profit in Bitcoin is something you get immediately you start investing, yea nothing is guaranteed wether on a short term or long-term, but with the record of Bitcoin which we know, the reward for long-term hodlers has been there, which is why one should not talk about profit first rather concentrate and making efforts to build a bulky portfolio and hodl for a long term, cause without it there's nothing much to expect even though the reward finally comes in the future.

Ive been hearing about situations where someone buys a coin for a certain rate and not quite long after,  the said coin drops in value, or  someone sells his coin for a certain rate and then it appreciates just after.
What's your take on this? Given the period we're in is it buy time or sell time?

I think that’s one of the biggest challenges with crypto the market can move very quickly, and nobody can reliably predict the exact top or bottom. Personally, I wouldn’t rush into buying or selling based only on what the market is doing today. I’d look at the specific coin, its fundamentals, the current trend, and how much risk I’m comfortable taking. And for me If I'm investing, I’d probably consider buying gradually rather than putting everything in at once, and I’d have a clear exit plan instead of trying to perfectly time the market
I understand you’re new here and from how the thread started with a mention of coin but we're talking about bitcoin here and no other alternative coin is worth the risk but it’s at your discretion and choice what you do with your money.

I see you understand investing with what you can afford to do without and may probably use DCA to invest but take your mind off looking at the market always or any fundamentals especially when you’ve not started investing.
Bitcoin is a long term investment and you should approach it as such, there’s no need talking about exit plan when you’re just starting or yet to start.

The main point is that no one can decide the correct way to buy or sell. Even the pro or experienced investor face difficulties to chose but they still manages to earn due to their experience and strategies. Anyways experience and strategies can't save you from lose but will help to control much of your lose. Anyway the best time to buy is when the market goes down but don't be greedy to wait for the market to get more lower ( remember you should study about the market to get some information ). And sell when you think that markets is getting down.

Not to forget, an investor doesn't talk about lose when busy accumulating Bitcoin and their earning is not immediate or always, when loses and profit is always the talk and experience, that makes it clear that you are talking about trading. So don't generalize your view when talking about trading. Off course, a trader can't buy using DCA strategy, they wait for the dip before buying to enable their chances of immediate gain. And talking about decision on the correct way to buy Bitcoin and later saying that the best time to buy is during the dip is simply complication. If the best time to buy is when price falls that should be the correct way but NO!! because what you just pointed out only applies to traders not investors who can buy without regards to Bitcoin price.
I will assume you are trader. This is absolutely misleading for investors. I don’t see any reason why someone who wants to invest in bitcoin will want to wait for dip before buying bitcoin. Buying the Dip will only make you procrastinate your investing, and sometime you could even end up not investing because the funds could have been used for something else while waiting for the Dip.

DCA is the best strategy when it comes to accumulating bitcoin, it give you that conveniency, it allows you to accumulate at your own pace. Why wait for something you don’t have control over, instead invest with the available discretionary income at any given time.
I totally agree with u that DCA is good stratigy for accumulating bitcoin but it does not means that buying the dip is a bad strategy for bitcoin.Everyone has there own investment strategy and it mostly depends on there income and financial system. Some people who don't have that much income prefer to wait for the better entries to maximize there proofits while other who have more money prefer to invest regularly, however sometime waiting for the perfect dip can also cause you to miss good opportunities but it can also be very benefial in bear market and you can make good profit from it.

When you are a low or no coiner, you have no business waiting for the dip because you are already lagging behind in your Bitcoin accumulation, so the logical thing to be doing is to be accumulating consistently without paying attention to the price, because at that point, your main concern should be on how to build your stash of Bitcoin, not by trying to outsmart the market by waiting for a dip that may never come.

Buying the dip is never a problem if you are not waiting for it, so if you are not in your over accumulation status, you have no business waiting for the dip because it will only slow down your accumulation and deprive you from reaching your investment potential target faster.

In order to invest successfully in Bitcoin, investors need to take a few more steps (success is not guaranteed, but the chances of success increase significantly if you invest consistently for a long time in the right way). You mentioned an emergency fund in addition to requesting weekly DCA. I would like to give you a few more points. Understanding income and expenses is a prerequisite for investing. An investor will find it easier to make investment decisions if he is aware of his discretionary income. Because discretionary income is the money left over after all needs are met, it facilitates investment decisions.

Therefore, an investor won't experience any pressure to make additional investments in the future if he uses this money consistently. Indeed, an investor can begin investing with a consistent portion of his discretionary income and increase the amount based on his position. I believe investors will have a good chance of making profitable investments if they can follow this plan and stick with it for a long time (at least four to five years).

The expectation of making profit is very strong among new investors because they are newbies in investment platform. Those who can control themselves from this short term and risky trend and accumulate Bitcoin regularly and build a large portfolio are the ones who succeed. I have seen most investors who were initially inclined to make a profit but after learning about Bitcoin and understanding its intrinsic value, they started investing for the long term and they are still accumulating Bitcoin in this process.

My advice is always to invest in Bitcoin for the long term because I do not expect them to repeat the same mistakes, that I made in the beginning. Build up your Bitcoin holdings without expecting profit at the beginning of investment, only then will you be able to succeed in investing in the future

An investor, especially one that hasn't stayed long in bitcoin investment and gets his priority wrong will will get frustrated along his investment journey and this is the reason why when a new investor is emphasizing too much on quick profit, trying to buy only at a DIP, and looking out for the fastest exit point, it is only wise that a more experienced investor gives him the needed guardians on how to focus more on building the right bitcoin stack before thinking towards the eventual profit that should come on a latter time.

Everyone likes profit and that is a fact but if you are barely at the entry level of your investment journey, should you be more concerned on how to buy more bitcoin or join others that have stayed invested for a longer period that you have been to talk about an exit strategy? this narrative might not be easy for newbie investor to accept especially when most of them want to see profit as a justification that they are doing the right thing but if they are not patient in building their bitcoin stack first before thinking towards taking their profit, it will almost look impossible for them to reach their investment goal.

Concentration on things that matters most is a key recipe for a successful investment. if you are at the accumulation phase, focus on that and don't get distracted by what others are doing.

I agree with you, focussing on profit will definitely bring anyone down mostly the bigerners it will mislead your attention towards your achievements in future, that's actually correct it's good for newbies to learn and keep on buying gradually to make sure you grow up your portfolio to an extent because those who discuss about profit are not even the newbies but those who has been making effort over the years so if they are focusing on profit newbies should be exempted because they still have a long way to go.

The purpose of investing in bitcoin is to make profit, but thinking too much about profit at the beginning may be negatively affect the investment in bitcoin for the long term. Traders mainly think about short term profit. But in a logical way a person who thinks about profit after investing in the long term and thinks about his financial security is basically an investor. And an investor's initial goal should be how to invest in bitcoin regularly for a long time and how to make bitcoin holding strong. You said first you have to create a large bitcoin portfolio. But how much bitcoin can be called a large portfolio depends on the situation of the person who is investing. One person may be able to invest $25 per week, while another can invest $500 per week. Now the accumulation target of these two people will not be the same and their goals will not be the same. In addition when thinking about profit an investor must calculate the current value of his bitcoin holdings or how much profit has been made. He must observe the progress of his portfolio and how much accumulation has been made. By observing this kind of responsible investment in bitcoin, he will be able to adjust the buying amount. He will also be able to imagine how many years he will have to invest in bitcoin. And from when he will be able to sell bitcoin and it will be easier for him to decide whether he will sell it all at once or sell bitcoin in a sustainable way.

Experience and good strategies don’t eliminate losses, but they can help you manage risk, avoid emotional decisions, and limit how much you lose. I also think buying during a dip can be a good opportunity, but it’s important not to assume every dip is the bottom. Sometimes the price keeps falling, so it’s better to have a plan rather than putting everything in at once. DCA can help with that by spreading purchases over time. And when it comes to selling, it’s better to have a clear target and risk management plan instead of selling purely because of fear when the market starts dropping. At the end of the day, research, patience, and discipline are just as important as timing the market.

Bitcoin investment means patience, the only person who cannot be patient is the one who faces losses. If every person invests in Bitcoin and at the end of the day can control his emotions and hold it for a long time, then that person will definitely be successful, it is more important to maintain the continuity of buying Bitcoin. These things should be remembered, but they can be kept for a long time by following the strategy, and building an emergency fund along with Bitcoin investment should never be neglected. So if you maintain the continuity of buying Bitcoin, then you will be able to succeed in both the ups and downs of Bitcoin and there will be savings on the purchase price.
It is easy to move towards success only if you follow these strategies, because in every case you have to move towards success by following the strategy.
It doesn't seem so simple that anyone who controls their emotions and holds on for a long time will be sure to succeed. Of course, patience, regular buying and having an emergency fund can help you follow a plan, which I agree with. But these do not guarantee your future profits by influencing market prices. I am not completely dismissing your advice, rather, there is a need to control behavior, but that control does not guarantee market outcomes. So while there is ample evidence for long-term investors, declaring every patient investor successful is a different matter. The second claim is not necessary to support the first.

While you have control over how much money you invest, whether you use the money you need, or whether you decide to panic during a temporary decline, your patience or discipline cannot determine whether the future market will give you the value you expected. Your decisions may be good, but the results may not be what you expected.

Assuming every dip is the bottom will only make one more confused about buying Bitcoin, and if they buy, they will quickly sell because of the fear of the dip. When people are too passionate about buying the dip, once they buy, they expect the price of Bitcoin to start increasing, but it doesn't work like this when it comes to Bitcoin.

It is good to partake by buying Bitcoin at the dip, but never to see it as the most important time to buy Bitcoin. Investors should program their minds to buy Bitcoin at all times, and this is what the DCA method of investing is all about.

Everyone has there choices right and agreed but if you're to advice anyone especially newbies, advice them rightly, you don't tell a newbie to wait for the dip, what for, someone that has no no Bitcoin of his own, personally I think newbies should have nothing to do with buying the dip, they should be more concerned about having discretionary income and buying consistently with the DCA strategy which will make their  Bitcoin acumulation more efficient and easy, if you said waiting for the perfect dip might make an investor miss out buying opportunities on quote, then what was the need for your earlier statement, man for consistency with what you can afford in every market condition, the DCA method is what everyone, especially newbies need.

As an investor who hasn't gotten to their Bitcoin over accumulation phase waiting for the Dip will delay them not get to their Bitcoin over accumulation phase, their os every possibility that they Dip they will be waiting for may not be seen, every Bitcoin investors should always focus on how to build a good Bitcoin stash, if an investor has gotten to their Bitcoin over accumulation phase they can they actually wait for the Dip to accumulate more Bitcoin if they want but for someone who is just starting consistent accumulation using the DCA strategy is what they need and not to wait for their desire Dip.
No one can say for certain whether the price of Bitcoin will rise in the future. Therefore, it is neither logical to sit around waiting solely for a dip nor is it wise to buy Bitcoin regardless of its current price level. Ok intervals one can mitigate the impact of market volatility. There is no need to attempt to time the market to catch the absolute lowest price instead, one can invest according to a pre-established plan rather than being driven by emotions.
Furthermore accumulating the largest possible amount of Bitcoin should not be the primary objective of an investment. Simply holding more Bitcoin does not guarantee higher profits. The key factors to consider are an investors anrisk tolerance and long term goals.

It is better to avoid remaining completely inactive while waiting for a dip. conversely one should also avoid investing a large lump sum all at once out of FOMO. A more prudent approach is to invest regularly through DCA within one's means and to never take on debt for the purpose of investing. Waiting for a price drop could mean missing out on a market rally, while regular investing still carries the inherent risk of a long term decline in value. The ultimate goal should be to invest in a disciplined manner while ensuring one's own financial security.

Especially among those who think about profit from the beginning, many people may have a trading mentality. Because they are busy with profit from the beginning. Bitcoin has good potential, but profit is not guaranteed. When someone starts thinking about profit, there is a possibility that he can sell his portfolio if he sees it at a profit. I am not talking about everyone here. But I would not be surprised if those who calculate additional profit sell after a few weeks or months if the price starts to rise. Many people may participate in it because of the possibility of profit in Bitcoin. The main purpose of Bitcoin should be to build your position gradually, profit may come later. But getting excited about profit is not a good thing. That is why I always advise not to get excited about profit, rather the possibility will increase over time. You should plan for the long term and strengthen your position. In between, you may see profit and loss many times, but it should not affect you.

Nothing stops you as an investor from buying the dip when it happens so long as you have the discretionary capital for it but holding off starting or holding back funds you should have used to accumulate more in hopes of a dip that may or may not happen is where there’s a problem because you may end up wasting your time and missing out good opportunities.
Buying the dip is fine but waiting for a dip to buy is bad. A newbie investor shouldn’t make buying the dip strategy their primary focus.

waiting for a dip to occur can make a low coiner or no coiner to remain in their current position, instead of them to be consistent in bitcoin accumulation in order to be able to grow their bitcoin holdings gradually through consistent buying of bitcoin. The funny thing is there is no nobody that can predict when a dip will occur, but for someone who has already gotten to over accumulation phase buying only during a dip may not be a bad idea.

There is nothing actually wrong if a newbie should have something to do with the Dip but what is wrong is, the way they perceive it and the way they define it. If an newbie has a wrong definition about what Dip is and how they should approach then it is totally bad but if they define it well and know that they don't have to wait for it but rather they ahould be consistent in their accumulation then it is very good. Newbie can buy during the dip if they have a better understanding of what it is and if they prepare prior to when it comes.

People should understand that buying the dip far more risky especially for beginners who are barely getting started. Firstly buying the dip requires taking an amount considered big to invest and when a beginner should use a big amount to start investing it can get messy for them when things doesn't move positively and it easily get their emotions involved at the earliest stage which is a very bad start a beginner can hope for. This is the reason why DCA strategy is the best strategy to begin with for beginners, it reduces the risk and impact of volatility and allow beginners invest with a lesser amount that won't cause any panic. The idea with DCA is to invest with whatever you can afford consistently because consistency is the key in Bitcoin investment.

As long as someone is a newbie there is a high chance that they won’t get it right when buying the dip. A newbie will always wait to buy the dip, that why it is not advisable to tell a newbie to buy when there is a dip but rather tell them to use the DCA to accumulate. Totally it is wrong not just for newbies but for any one to wait for the dip before buying, so long you are buying with the aim of investing.

You can’t have discretionary income available and be waiting for bitcoin to fall before investing, that is totally wrong. For investor, consistent accumulation is what really matters. When investing if the Dip comes, then it fine but don’t sit and wait for it.
