Here we have the topic dedicated to the 2024/2025 Liga Portugal football season..

Here we can discuss the performance of the teams in competition, and make our guesses for the games. This topic can be used to talk about Portuguese clubs, both in the Liga Portugal competition, and in other competitions that Portuguese teams participate internally and internationally.

It is nice to see this. I was following Primeira Liga before but I stopped following it like 5 years ago. But I think it is time to be frequently knowing what is going on in the league again. I remember that time, Benfica and Fc Porto are the clubs that usually win. Braga can try but not good to the extent of winning. I check the 2023/2024 now and I saw Sporting win the league this time. It was also a good club that time. I saw it as the third best at the time.

I have selected some matches their in the past which I usually win. The first match is Sporting CP versus Rio Ave on the 9th of August which is 5 days from now.

the first official game played by sporting and porto, I must admit that it was a game that made me laugh a lot because I saw the goals being scored in a way that made it seem like both teams were playing a friendly. Sporting's defense, especially the goalkeeper, seemed to be out of ideal physical shape. Sporting's defense was another disaster. For example, Zeno Debast's mistake allowed Galeno to get the ball and score a goal. If Zeno Debast had made a good save, the goal wouldn't have gone in. Porto still managed to score the 4th goal, but it was disallowed. Porto's superiority was clear after they scored 1 goal. It was funny to see Sporting score 3 goals and then relax and then make strange mistakes as if they were somehow doing it on purpose so that Porto would win. Honestly, this was a very strange game.



I don't know what the Sporting goalkeeper was thinking, but in my opinion he wasn't very focused on the game. This is a ball that he could have easily saved if he had been focused. The shot was from long range and aimed right at him, so the save he made was ridiculous. I still find the Sporting defenders' stance in this game very strange. Congratulations to Porto for the victory.

According to my findings, the last match between FC Porto and Sporting CP was the Portugal Cup Final that was played on May 26th.  The outcome after 90 minutes was 1 : 1. The match got to extra time but FC Porto won with 1 more goal which makes it 2 : 1. Also that another season is just starting. No official match yet.

Today's match is Sporting versus Rio Ave. Sporting has higher probability of winning this match. Rio Ave performed poor last season but this is another season. If the club do not perform good this season, it will not be a surprise at all. It is likely that it would lose the match but Sporting odd is very low. On the site I checked it, it was 1.19. Even if I will lose the match, I will prefer to go for Sporting first half win with 1.53 odds.

Now we are having just few hours left in start of the new league season and Sporting looking good odds for the ML are not good because we all know how things will be gone in this game but as we have start of season with 7 games thriller I am expecting another good game for goals because in last game between these two teams we have 6 games and in first game of this season we have the good number of goals from the sporting.

I usually not go with the bet like these because at the half-time we can have anything happen, so I will go with my small bets on over 3 and over 3.5 because both are looking good and Sporting will surely go with their full force for the start of new season and defend of their title as well.

But the loss can be more which should be what people that are betting should expect more. Making use of small amount of money to bet.

On the other hand, Gil Vicente finished the season in 12th place last season. I think Porto are the absolute favorites in this match. Taremi has transferred to Inter. Taremi will be an important loss for them this season. But I think they will beat Gil Vicente in this match. I don't think there will be any surprise result from this match. They beat Sporting Lisbon in the Super Cup. They will be better for the new season.

Sporting 3-1 Rio Ave

 

This game was very funny, the passes that the Sporting players made that led to the first goal, it was something incredible, which shows how the Sporting players are synchronized. But what made me laugh the most in this game was when the Rio Ave goalkeeper, Jhonatan, made a mistake in the pass and the ball ended up at the feet of Pedro Gonçalves who, with great skill, made a shot and scored the second goal.



Sporting's attack remains as perfect as last season, this is something that shows that this season Sporting will fight to win the title again. I hope that Sporting does not sell Viktor Gyökeres who has been a player who helps Sporting's attack a lot, one of the big problems of Portuguese teams and that in European competitions they have not managed to get very far in recent years. I hope that this season Sporting or Benfica or Porto at least manage to reach the semi-finals of some European competition.


FC Famalicao - SL Benfica

It's strange that the bookmakers are giving odds of @1.45 for Benfica to win. I know that some players have left Benfica, such as Paulo Bernardo, Casper Tengstedt went to Hellas Verona on loan and Benfica signed Vangelis Pavlidis in his place. Vangelis Pavlidis comes from AZ Alkmaar, and is a player who played 34 games in the Eredivisie last season and scored 29 goals. He is a good striker. So having an attack composed of Vangelis Pavlidis, Di Maria and João Mário would give Benfica a very good attacking power. That's why I bet on Benfica to win.

But what made me laugh the most in this game was when the Rio Ave goalkeeper, Jhonatan, made a mistake in the pass and the ball ended up at the feet of Pedro Gonçalves who, with great skill, made a shot and scored the second goal.

It is a away match. Home matches are easier for a club to win than away matches. That is why the odd is higher but which is still small. Regardless of that, I think FC Porto might win this matches if their main players played in the match.

I think any way it is done is good. Posting the result is enough for some people to know that the match has been played. I prefer to check the result myself on the live score site that I prefer to use or to watch the highlights on YouTube. But if the link is included, it is also good.

I haven't still seen what would be stopping FC Porto from defeating their opponent team Gil Vicente and grabbing their first full 3 points this season at their today's opening game, especially when they are starting off the season with playing this game at their home soil, that's indeed a given advantage to sweep off the whole of three points from Gil Vicente and putting new season smiles in the face of their supporters and fans today at the Estádio do Dragão stadium.

A team changes coaches and players to make the team more aggressive and more experienced. Because it allows other experienced people to be controlled to perform better than the current ones who are engaged. So it is true that this new season will perform better as a whole, because the players have created the most attention and are at the hardest level.

 Now only by playing against the opposite team, it will be possible to get the correct result, how experienced the team is and how much the coach has been able to teach them will be proved only on the field of play.

You mean highlights? I think it's not worth. With all respect, I doubt that many people would watch highlights of games like Arouca - Farense that would be worth efforts to put highlights of each game. After all, 90% people whofollow Portuguese league are only interested in Porto, Sporting, Benfica and maybe Braga.

Porto started the season with a clear win. We can say that it was an easy match for Porto who got 3 points with 3 goals against Nacional. Sporting also made a good start to the season, defeating Rio Ave 3-1 in a match played 2 days ago. Sporting could have scored more goals as they had many chances against their opponent. Benfica will travel to Famalicao today. I think Benfica will also start the season with 3 points.
