This is absolutely what I have been waiting to hear.

Literally history in the making.
This is the first time a state treasurer is allowed to invest in cryptocuttencies.
Now the imitation game will begin!
In addition, if you are reading this, you probably can say: “I did frontran the New Hampshire!”

New Hampshire is the State best known for being Bernie Sanders' home Senate district.
Well done, they are so advanced in adopting BSR when the Democrats' base is so strong in this state.

You really had great expectation from New Hampshire and it happens just the way you expected it.i believe more states will follow suits and may likely start signing the SBR Bills into law in no time. New Hampshire have created the paths for other states to follow.

On March 6 2025, Donald Trump signed an executive order establishing strategic Bitcoin reserve and since then, we have seen so many states contending for a Bitcoin reserve like Otah and Texas but it's surprising that New Hampshire successfully becomes the first US state to have a Strategic Bitcoin Reserve. Even though it's going to invest just 5% on Bitcoin, it's still a good news for me.

There are other US states that are moving to have their own Strategic Bitcoin Reserve soon. Arizona could be the next state once approved!

Governor Kelly Ayotte of NEW HAMPSHIRE have signed the Bitcoin Bill HB 302 into law, making NEW HAMPSHIRE  the first US STATE TO enact a STRATEGIC BITCOIN RESERVE. The law is to take effect after 60 days.
This is the best decision any leader could make and Governor Kelly Ayotte just got it right unlike Arizona and Florida States.

I really don't think is about having a crypto background is about taking risk in other to bring changes and development, a Governor may have a good background knowledge about Bitcoin and may still have fear in him and this fear will prevent him from signing Bitcoin reserve bill into law but with the courage of other Governor's signing Bitcoin reserve bill into law others will follow, sometimes one person just has to take the first step and others will follow, Governor Kelly Ayotte of New Hampshire has taken a bold step and it has been written in history and surely others we follow suit.

I think you are right and even though signing or approving it won't have effect now, In the future it will definitely have a great effect and it will be a positive effect because Bitcoin is not for immediate consumption rather for the future. Moreover, I think the fear of some Governors is there reputation, some people if not all everybody values there reputation more than anything in this life, so if peradventure the Governor signed or approved this and then later in the future what they expected is not what they see, the Governor will be have to be blamed because he is the one that pass order ( authorized) the law makers so I think the Governor is just been careful because even though Bitcoin is a nice asset, one have to think it twice or more.

In just a few hours (Just 48 hours), we observed that two states have already passed Bitcoin reserve bills. Previously, Hampshire passed the first Bitcoin Reserve Bill and now Arizona has passed a Bitcoin Reserve Bill.
We can see that Katie Hobbs the governor of the state of Arizona, has already signed the 2749 House Bill (HB), which allows the Strategic Bitcoin Reserve to now.

The laws they recently passed will help other states in this country consider digital assets as legal financial instruments. We can assume that Arizona has taken this step, following Hampshire's lead, so it remains to be seen which states will make such a far-sighted decision next.

i just checked.. hobbs finally got her disability fund bill passed which she wanted (via vetoing the other bills until she got her way) and so now she freely signed the other bills into law.

just glad it only took them weeks to give her what she wanted and now arizonian bitcoiners get what they wanted.

next step is arizona leaders to discuss in more detail what they will do with the fund ongoing

In my opinion he still hasn't understood how bitcoin works, since for a government with an inflationary currency to support a deflationary currency doesn't seem like a good idea to me, it seems like a suicidal idea even if it's obviously fine with us.
They have understood that bitcoin is so good that they are willing to take the risk, just think about it.

She has earned my outmost respect for signing this Bill and she will always be remembered for countless generations to come,for been the leader that signed the enacting of a Strategic Bitcoin Reserve Bill into law in Arizona state.

I am also proud of her for reversing her decision and rebuilding her trust in Bitcoin from been an untested assets to an asset she can now trust to invest 10% of the state funds.

Congratulations to Governor Katie Hobbs and the entire citizens of Arizona for finally trusting in Bitcoin.

you dont see the big picture

she was not targetting bitcoin(good or bad). she initially vetoed MANY different bills all in one day last month, because she wanted a disability fund bill passed. there was no bitcoin specific target or issue, she just vetoed many bills with lame reasons(she could not explain any deeper/specifically) for each one, just she needed to put something lame on paper for each, to have reason to veto many. it was never personal or specific about bitcoin she detested, she just wanted her disability fund bill passed

once she got her disability funding bill passed. she un-vetoed and then signed alot of bills into law, including bitcoin reserve bill
the trigger was not NH it was her own personal desire of a disibility fund bill.
she did not have love or hate of bitcoin and nothing about bitcoin changed her mind. she simply vetoed alot of different bills becasue she wasnt getting what she wanted.. and then signed alot of bills when she got what she wanted

she will always be remembered for countless generations to come,for been the leader that signed the enacting of a Strategic Bitcoin Reserve Bill into law in Arizona state.

not complicated at all, nor an addition..
her passing the bitcoin bill as soon as she got her disability bill shows that she had nothing against bitcoin nor did it even have time to be "tested" to any approval level to change her mind, which shows her initial reason was not about it being "untested" as the situation has not changed in the brief few weeks.. the only thing that did change was getting her disability bill through

so dont put her down as being anti-bitcoin or whatever.

she had to put a reason on each bill to veto them. so she simply put a lame reason(the reason didnt matter). its not an additional reason nor made things more complicated. its the lame reason simply to have something written in the box. (she couldnt simple leave no reason/blank space in her vetoes).
so again her aim was not to target bitcoin because it was untested.. she just couldnt think of any decent reason to have a genuine negative reason..
her aim was not hate against bitcoin. it was just to hold all bills on that day under ransom for no other reason than to get her disability bill through

but yea putting all that aside, her tactic worked. she delayed the course of normal public benefit for her own personal desires of the DFB. which as a tactic was a cunning one that worked, but not an honourable one in regards to duties that benefit the public interest for the other bills at the time

but we are all glad that the drama is over and things can move forward

tax is not the only way a state gets income
permits, licences, fines, tickets, you would be surprised where other non tax income comes from.
EG when doing things like consolidating departments and merging them into co-managed departments(think doge efficiency: personnel) they can sell office space etc

(i was thinking it was the same as the BIS requirements of 5% total holdings ever of central bank reserve, before they would need to start selling/redistributing)

from reading it again its not what i first thought.. where my mind was thinking it was like the BIS limit of 5% holding total forever.
it's instead (thanks for prompt to double check and correct my thoughts) 5% purchase power of yearly treasury budget
