Hey Vince,

You can read the below thread for the dev updates, please sign up on the new forums as mentioned above. It is pretty awesome forum to keep track of new and unread posts.

https://community.guldencoin.com/t/guldencoin-development-updates/899

Also previous updates on this topic at: https://community.guldencoin.com/t/organization-part-1-the-codebase/846/233

thanks waterloo
thanks also to who posted the last reply.

sorry im new here but whats with the algo development?

i mean what is it for?

It is for a more stable blockchain with less gaps that is futureprove also. Better miningpossiblities also when there are more algo's to mine at, so dedicated miners will benefit. So Guldencoin will be multi-algo soon.  Smiley It is done in different stages, you can read about that in the updatelinks on the forum mentioned in posts above.

There will be 5 algo's in the multi-algo as I understood in previous discussions. Better let the devs inform us about this. I am not a dev.
Scrypt, Sha256, Skein, Qubit and another one is most likely as I understand. Which ones has to be decided still. So maybe X11 or X13. Who knows  Wink

Name of the new multi-algo will be GDR - Guldencoin Difficulty Re_adjustment as I read on the forum.

Same thoughts Vince!

it is actually mind boggling that this coin is priced at 400 sats with so many merchants accepting this coin. i dont know if a subway really accepts this.
by that alone this coin should be worth more than 10k sats where can you find a subway and many merchants accepting crypto.

is there a plan for an own market? or is there any online merchants who accept gulden and ships internationally?

i live in asia and unfortunately i cant use my coins here.

Just to clear this up a bit. GDR is a new algo that will initially be used for our scrypt mining , however the way it's designed it will be able to work with all the algos in multi-algo.
So the final solution is Multi-algo with GDR implemented as well to make it extra smooth.

Basic Plan:

1. Implement GDR after release (This weekend) and tested, if all tests go well then we will implement sometime in April.
2. Update Guldencoin codebase to Bitcoin 2.0 and merge digibyte changes (Multi algo) with GDR. May or June.

Hey Vince,

We have a system called Nocks.NL, it allows you to use Guldencoin up to .5 btc wherever there is a merchant accepting bitcoin.
As for the subways there is 3 accepting Guldencoin only, not even BTC.

The crypto world still puts more value on development over usage, it's fucked up I know but now we have one of the best dev teams so we have best of both worlds.

Hey regarding the new algos. Is there an algo which will give cpu mining a chance?  I mined uis for a bit and there was a pool which gave good returns with cpu mining

At this stage it will be 2 ASIC (Sha256 and Scrypt), 1 GPU most likely x11 and 2 CPU options. This isn't finalized yet but most likely the way we going.

Well I personally hope we don't reach 10k sat within the next 2 years because we need to make sure we grow the usage of the coin for those prices to be sustained. Prices need to be stable for more confidence in the currency to be used on a wider scale.

However there is plenty projects in place that are going to keep increasing the usage of the currency and give the consumer base more reason to invest, spend and buy.

The old forum was built with SMF. Because of this we had very few possibilities to upgrade and improve the forum's feature set and layout.

We looked at several options and found that Discourse is a communication/discussion platform with a great features set. It's also under continuous development and supported by a great community, so we chose to move to discourse.

All posts and accounts have been migrated. You need to reset your password because the encryption used at SMF differs from discourse.

Just a reminder the official forums have now moved to https://community.guldencoin.com/ .

If you were a previous user please remember to reset your password because the encryption used at SMF differs from discourse.
