That skepticism is pure realism, it doesn't have to do with feelings or assumptions. It's statistically proven and naturally fully comprehensible that winning the title is extremely difficult and consequently, winning it twice in a row is significantly more difficult than it already is. In fact, it doesn’t really matter which of the favorites lifts the trophy (the main thing is that it’s Real haha). The main thing is, when will we have a new winning club? PSG and City are technically new winners, but thanks to oil money, they've long been among the football elite, and winning the Champions League was only a matter of time (thank goodness it happened with such a huge delay). I would like to see seasons like the one when Porto under Mourinho became champions, and not identical seasons when the same pool of teams play for the title.

When the Champions League is different from the glory years of Real Madrid who have the ability to win consecutive titles, as I said today the Champions League is more competitive and many competitors with new strategies to face their enemies, we see how Man City alone can not do much, City is one of the strongest teams but was able to hold a draw against Monaco, PSG is made a favorite that is very natural because they show their ability very well, but yes we do not know whether it will be consistent or not, because it is still early, the real tension is in the semi-finals and finals, I think Arsenal has a chance this season, even though we know that they have never succeeded in the Champions League.

Real Madrid I think I can agree but Manchester City?! Believe me, they've lost their touch and there's nothing special about them like we use to see. Now it's just tie down Erling Haaland and they will find it difficult to score goals. Real Madrid are progressing fine under Xabi Alonso. Vincent Kompany is doing quite well in the league, I need him to replicate the same the same thing in the Champions League Competition and Paris Saint Germans? We'll see what they can go yet again..

I completely agree with you, defending the champions League title is really one of the greatest challenge you can encounter as a defending champion, we can give Real Madrid their accolades for being consecutive for three straight times, but I believe ever since then, especially with the absence of Zidane Zidane, who made that to be possible, they've had a difficult time to even defend it back to back after winning it the last time they did, so I agree with you that there might be a new champions League winner this season, it might be an underdog team just the way Chelsea won the club World Cup without anybody's expectation, that's how the champions League works sometimes.

It's not always as it seems though, even though Bayern Munich hasn't been more consistent at least they were at least consistent. Even Liverpool or Barcelona hasn't been more consistent than them and it's evident. After 2020 that they won the Champions League, they have been involved in one semis which was in 2024 and they were eliminated by Real Madrid. In this same 5 years gap both Liverpool and Barcelona has only reached the semis only once. So technically, they have been more consistent than both Liverpool and Barcelona.

Of course he his a very good and talented young player but why most people are very quick to react when he fall short is because of how Barcelona, Spanish media and even his parents  are painting him. We all saw how his father reacted after yamal failed to win the Ballon D’Or. we all know Raphina had great numbers that him last season but look at who Barcelona decide to PR among the 2 players.

Greatness comes with huge pressure and responsibilities, people will always expect you to deliver all the time and the very minute you fail to do so they will be very quick to judge you. We have seen young players with big potentials failed to live to expectations because of such pressure, I just really hope for Yamal it doesn’t ends so.

after the strange ballon d'or rankings, if barcelona wins the champions league, raphinha and yamal could be considered worthy of the award based on their performance in the tournament. barcelona's current problem seems to be the striker position, because lewandowski is getting older and ferran may not be enough on his own. if they solve this problem, i think the squad is quite good.

Currently, there are six Barcelona players who are injured or in a state of injury. They are:

Of these six players, only Fermin Lopez seems certain to return soon. This condition is certainly making it difficult for Hansi Flic to maximize the team's strengths. Therefore, I think we should understand what has happened to Barcelona recently regarding their performance.

Ter Stegen hasn't been part of Hansi Flick's team since around this period last season. Placing Inter as the underdog is clearly unfair, even if you look at the standings where Arsenal is just below Inter.

I know that after Liverpool and Barcelona recent defeats, many people have begun to doubt their chances of reaching the semifinals. However, this is only the first round with a total of 8 matches, and there are still 6 more to go. So, if Liverpool and Barcelona can sweep the remaining matches with wins, they can still make it to the top 8. But if they can't capitalize on the remaining matches, they should at least fight in the playoffs.
I'm not too focused on which teams will advance to the semifinals because it's still too early to tell. Plus, there will be another draw after all teams complete the first round.

Barcelona that was humiliated by PSG second eleven or which of the Barcelona are you talking about? Barcelona can't even get to the semi finals, just as u listed Barcelona attacking is lacking a top striker , Lewandowski is struggling with age and there is no back up for him. The club now depend on yamal for goal and assist, if he's not fit the team will struggle, for the past games we don't see  yamal and Rahinha see how the team struggled to get a win. Barcelona are not favorite for the title this season, they still have work to do on the team

To me, Real Madrid and PSG will meet at the final, these team are good and prepared for the competition, I'm rooting for Real Madrid to win it this year, xavi Alonso deserves to have a champions League title to his coaching career.  But PSG is a team to beat to win the league, PSG has become a big threat in this competition, they have a very good squad and an experienced coach that can make use of any player available to get a win.

I still think, and i agree with you, that PSG can win the UCL again this season. Their great form, even without their best players, shows what kind of team Luis Enrique has. I considered Liverpool as the favourites for the Premier League title. But they cannot be considered favourites on the Champions League platform. And we got the proof of that against Galatasaray. Liverpool lost in the first away match. Maybe this defeat will not cause Liverpool any major problems in the first round. Maybe the team will be able to easily qualify for the play-offs. But I doubt whether Liverpool will be able to survive the competition against the giants of the Champions League in the knockout round.
