I don't think Conte is working this way. For one simple reason: the Champions League is a money-making machine, but you earn money by winning matches.

Once anyone see the outcomes of Real Madrid matches, the image that you got is that team is not that successful as it used to be. The last year of Carlo Ancelotti and even this year with Xabi Alonso saw Real Madrid squad less effective than the previous years. Injuries might be a problem, that's true. There is also some tensions within the team like Vinicius Junior wanting more money while his performance is not perfect.. I don't see them winning anything this year if they continue like that..

Real Madrid players are not truthful with each other and there is high level of conflict of interest, this is why many of them aren't putting their roles into good use. You see defenders playing poorly and midfield trying to be the captain of the game when Mbape was made to do the job properly. I affirmly believe that Mbape would have done better in wing position than what he is currently playing in the forward, even before coming to Laliga that's the place he enjoyed playing.

The competition is such a really tough one that I doubt any team will be able  to maintain  the top position for the longest even with all experience they have over the years they still cannot just keep that position, this season has been bumpy for them and they have so far not been in their very best form but they have their domestic league as part of their priorities of which it appears that Barcelona will be their only biggest challenge in that regards.

We are not yet at the stage of the competition where it become obvious who the likely winners are so it will be wrong to judge by the performance of the teams thus far. Last season, Liverpool had such a wonderful performance at the early stages and there were speculations that they were going to win the trophy. Unfortunately, they crashed out of the competition at the peak of the hype and PSG that we never saw won the trophy. I'm not saying that the same fate awaits Arsenal and the other teams this season, my point is that it is just too early to assume some things.

Being a Real Madrid coach is not easy because he will face many challenges in dealing with player egos. If he is unable to be firm, it will affect the way the players perform on the field and outside the dressing room. Ancelotti who was successful at Real Madrid, also faced similar challenges, but he managed to create chemistry and cohesion for the Real Madrid players. So far, Xabi Alonso has struggled with this approach, and some of the problems that have arisen may have impacted the team's overall performance. Real Madrid have only lost a few matches and they have lost against teams they never imagined they would lose. If Real Madrid had performed well and lost, maybe no one would have criticized them so much or the fans would have been optimistic about winning the next matches. But their performance in the matches seems to be getting worse. Real Madrid may not have lost anything yet but they are losing the reputation they had as a strong team.

It is doubtful whether Ancelotti will be able to achieve what Xabi has achieved during his long time in charge of the team. Xabi has been able to organize the team in a short time which is commendable but the speculation about his dismissal due to some losses should not be done now. The team is still in a good position in terms of points but the team performance is still not satisfactory.

You have mentioned a very important point. We often avoid this problem. Xabi alonso is very talented. But Alonso does not have the  experience of managing  a big and star - studded squad like Madrid. And that is why he is facing problems.

We know that the relationship between vini and mbappe is not good. Even a few days ago we heard rumors that Vini might leave the squad. Alonso will have to try  to solve the internal problems of the squad first. He will have to try to solve the  problems in the dressing room. If there  is internal conflict between the players, it will not be  possible to perform well consistently. Alonso is talented , and his match strategy is also good.
