The Super Falcons have been able to get a win with a one-goal advantage, and that is something that they should count as lucky because a one-goal advantage in this competition, especially after showing defensive errors in their last game against Malawi, is something they should be happy about; it shows that they were able to fix their mistakes from the other game. With how important the remaining games of the competition are for the Super Falcons, it is necessary that they move on and approach those games with a target not to win by just one goal or score one goal expecting to win because anything can happen in football, and they do not want to be on the side that has to accept the losses.

I missed the match due to busy schedules, but the stats are not very encouraging. It counts as a really lucky win. Their fate lies in the outcome of the Zambia vs Malawi match, I am very optimistic they would beat Egypt very well, but they should just pray that Malawi is able to win Zambia, only then would they be in a safer zone. The quality of the Super falcons team has greatly degraded. Has unnecessary politics entered their  management?
I read sometime ago that Ashleigh Plumptre was intentionally left out because she refused a request made to her which was against her personal values, what is really going on?

I was expecting nothing less that three goals un this game or we find ourselves packing from the tournament already. Thank God for our Agba baller who gave us this early lead. A difficult game it was for the ladies, Oshoala found the back of the net in the first 8 minutes of the game but the Falcons defender Oluwatosin Demehin almost cost them the game following her red card before the end of the first half. More goals would have been scored if the team was complete but since they were able to defend the one goal till full-time they should have an easy win in their last encounter against Egypt who has no place in the tournament again after losing their second game today against Malawi.  The super Falcons are not in their best performance the coach needs to motivate the players cause they can't win the tournament if they keep struggling in their games.

They really tried in holding the Zambia for 90mins considering that they were already short on one leg. But I'm not impressed because the super falcons didn't play like they are defending champions. They were too feeble in the match and the Zambia dominated them to an extent that they almost scored. Nevertheless, the Zambian were strong. Since the super falcons are defending champions, I thought they would easily win by many goals but it seems the competition the year is taking a different direction. But anyway,a win is still a win but the super falcons have to fixed their defence because it was due to their defence errors that they lost to Malawi in their first leg.

Today I decided to look at the female WAFCON for the very first time that's going, not that I watched the match but a look at what's happening on livescore. I noticed that Nigeria lost their opening game and said to myself this match will be a high scoring match, so I thought to myself. I decided to play just this game ov 3.5, reasons for this, Nigeria lost their first match and will be coming all out for the win, Zambia scored a lot of goals against Egypt in their first match and will likely score one or 2 goals here, secondly, Nigeria has a high scoring record against Zambia. So I went all in for this option at 2.50 odds, I was disappointed at the final score even though I was happy that at least Nigeria won but not with tmy expected number of goals. It's going to be a battle in the final match as Zambia and Nigeria will be looking for a win to secure the a spot for themselves. Malawi has 6 points already with Nigeria and Zambia both on 3 points.

I said i wasn’t going to watch any Nigeria match again judging from the poor performance of the super eagles they couldn’t even qualify for the World Cup let alone play despite having players of world class recognition but i will break that rule because of the Super falcons who have always been performing well in their female category right from time, their 1:0 win against Zambia is no shock to me because they have proven not once, twice or even thrice that they have capacity, i won’t even be shocked if they get to the WAFCON finals and eventually win it, congrats to the Super falcons on their well deserved win.

Congratulations to the super Falcons for winning Zambia, in that match, I'm not concerned about the score line as much as I'm concerned about the Falcons winning the game, so it means that our Falcons have a chance of making it to the next stage of the competition, Zambia, showed that they are a strong team after trashing Egypt so Falcons winning them should be a big deal. I'm hoping that since we beat Zambia that trashed Egypt I believe that the super Falcons would also win Egypt and if Zambia beats Malawi, both will qualify for the next round but if Nigeria, and Zambia loses in their third matches that would be a problem for us. I believe that Falcons will fly high in this WAFCON and bring us glory again like they have always done.

I think we fans have been spoiled by the Super Falcons, they have been dominant for so long that we are used to perfection. Don’t be so harsh on the players. It’s not every game you bag 3-5 goals. Sometimes all you need a 1 goal victory to win a tournament. To be fair, Zambia couldn’t even score despite having the advantage for more than 45 minutes.

You have a good assessment, and for Super Falcons to beat Zambia means that they have finally woken up from their slumber. It was a show of shame in their very first match against Malawi, as the Malawi that they were supposed to beat blue black ended up beating them. To make matters worse, nothing was exciting until Malawi scored their first goal, then other goals followed. That was what triggered the Super Falcons to gear up, but it was too late by then. I wonder why strong teams often feel too relaxed at times. Regardless, beating a strong team like Zambia shows they are back on track.

Haha, it's a normal procedure though - these tests are randomly done, you don't get invited. One could assume you're sprinting unnaturally and get you to a HT test or FT test 

It happened a lot to Caicedo last season; they thought he was sprinting more than he should and he was never found doping.

The super falcons have been dominating this tournament since it's inception. They seem relaxed want to gamble it this year. Our first game was a shock defeat to underdog and now we fought hard to win with a slight difference. As it stands, I don't see us going far with this performance. We have experienced squad to go far but I doubt it until we scale through the group stage. On your bet, the odds is too good that you should doubt the outcome but I understand your point. These women are found of scoring many goals when you least expect it.

It might be a random procedure, like it can be an intended one. The main point is to see such procedures being done to other figures like her systematically.
Players and their supporters should have nothing to worry about if they don't do anything wrong.

I strongly disagree with your analysis. Malawi may very well be a dark horse in this tournament, time will tell. The Super Falcons are doing their best as we clearly saw yesterday - winning a strong team with one woman down. Unfortunately I think we the fans have spoiled by the Super Falcons, they have been dominant for so long in the tournament that we are used to perfection that we can’t appreciate anything less than.

After their first game they lost 2-3 the Falcons knows the second leg against Zambia was a do or die game so if they should lose or draw that game it will be the end no second chance, with the reputation they have when it comes to the WAFCON they should be leading the group but they didn't start well and this very game against Zambia would have slip off their fingers, imagine the reckless challenge that made the ref to show a red card, for me the Falcons was luckily to have gotten that 1 goal if not the story would have been different.
Super Falcons wasn't as aggressive as I expected because the way they played in the last WAFCON is not the same as what we are seeing now and I fear if they'd do well in the quarter final that's if they qualified. The last game against Egypt shouldn't be a problem from how the Egyptian have been playing in their first and second left and that is where the over 3.5 could come out.

Here is the World Cup qualifications requirements of the Super Falcons. Nigeria have to win their match against Egypt and Zambia have to win Malawi. If Zambia beat Malawi then Zambia will not be qualified again with the following figure.

If any of those scores came from Zambia beating Malawi, Zambia will not qualify in the WWC. But Zambia will qualify if they win with a big margin like,
2-0
3-1
4-2
Which is 2 goals margin can make them to win. If Nigeria beat Egypt which is possible, Zambia is needed to win Malawi with good margin for the two teams to qualify. Now the major matches to qualify is the Nigeria, Zambia and Malawi and Egypt has been rollout but this is only if Nigeria wins them.

lol it’s not people, it’s CAF. I understand it’s partly my fault for triggering the conversation, however, Igebotz and snipie have already explained why that happened. Osimhen was also subjected to a doping test in the last AFCON. It seems that these checks are random and done to protect the integrity of the sport. It is not targeted at the girls.

Nigeria team wins first ever win in 2026 Women's African Cup of Nations League and I think their win against Zambia today was very important. It is true that if Nigeria's Demehin had not been shown a red card in the 40th minute, the reigning champions might have been able to win more against Zambia, however we think that Nigeria played very well against Zambia in this match so they will probably face Egypt in the upcoming match i.e. Group C match of the WAFCON tournament. It seems to me Nigeria must win against Egypt in the upcoming match to properly compete against Malawi because Malawi is already on top of this group with two consecutive wins.
