If am the Nigerian president i will halt footballing activities in the country for some time until the players, coach and technical crew have convinced me beyond doubt that such tragedy won’t reoccur anymore, like what really went wrong with the Super Eagles? The Nigerian team (Dream Team) once defeated Brazil in the past so am really wondering what could have affected the super Eagles to the extent that even in Africa they will be losing endlessly, just imagine them losing 3:0 to Guinea Bissau what a slap to the Super Eagles of Nigeria, the presumed giants of Africa, even to qualify for the just concluded World Cup they couldn’t.
Sincerely at this point i blame the players and will really be happy if all of them are replaced, i know everyone will want to blame it on corruption but i wont completely agree with that because far back when the Super Eagles performed well there was still corruption in the country but yet players like Jay Jay Okocha, Kanu etc stood their ground and represented Nigeria well regardless of poor welfare and corruption in the system, so this current players have no excuse for their incompetence. Super Eagles players like Osimen, Lookman, Iwobi etc play so well for their respective clubs but when they come back home they play so poorly.
To me it is high time drastic measures are taken like recruiting younger players from the Nigerian league who will definitely be eager to make name for themselves to come and take over that mantle from this current Super Eagles squad that are obviously no more ready to give their best for their country, enough is enough.
The truth is that the problem is from the presidency or let me say the sports federation of the country, we've not been nurturing talents over the years, we've not invested in talents from under 15 to under 20. So where do you intend to get players that will go to Olympics and do wonderful, where do you intend to get players that will go to the under-17 and win a gold medal, so the result we are seeing today has been an issue of a years of negligence from the sports administration and is not only football, this cuts across literally all sporting activities in the country. Today if you go to Olympic most of the guys you will see there are people that were brought overseas, and is the same thing with our football, players are shipped from Europe to Nigeria for competitions that we can easily recruit prayers here in Nigeria. Yes you are right the Nigerian government or Sports administration do not invest on young talents no doubt, and that is not really nice, and it's affecting the country in one way or the other in different ways, but I think that is not actually the major problem why the super Eagle are underperforming, because if you look into the Nigerian national team, you will see many Elite players that are doing just fine across Europe, but when it comes to playing for the country you will see the worse of them, now the question is, doe's this players still want to play for the country, because judging from the happenings across the country of recent years, if I'm to be the players I won't answer to their calls, like in real fact I can sense the players don't want to play for the country anymore, the earlier we realize this the best for us all. You are helping me in clarifying some of the issues I've raised, this European players whenever they are playing for the country the passion and zeal is not the same when they are playing for their club sides, and that is why you need a local player in some wings, that will bring in passion and New energy, so that there will be a threat on this other players that if you don't play well, this guy can literally replace you. So if you don't build such consciousness in the head of this European base players, they will see the whole idea of playing for the national team as a joke, instead of a thing of a pride, because trust me playing for a country of over 200 million is a thing of pride.

If you change all the players in the Nigerian national team for new players, the situation will still be the same. In this country, we don't know how to solve problems from the root cause. This is you talking about the president shutting down all footballing activity, is it the same president that cannot do his job and is making everything worse? Look at the poor management going on in the national team. There is so much incompetence. There is no way everything about the country, including the national team, will be so bad, and you think it won't be like that on the pitch. Look at the way the Italian National team is now. When you neglect things for so long, there will be consequences. It's a simple cause and effect. So if we want to play better football, they have the fix their management and stop playing politics with everything.

There is a saying that a man who is already on the ground fears no fall, the Super eagles are already on the ground because of their regular poor performance so to me trying other options won’t be a bad idea because already they are losing so there is nothing to fear about if younger players with more zeal are used to replace this current super eagles. On the other hand am not happy when citizens blame the government for every misfortune, don’t get me wrong am fully aware of the poor welfare and corruption in Nigerian national team but should that really be an excuse for such poor performance? Why did the players accept to represent Nigeria knowing fully well that there is poor welfare and corruption in the system? If they accepted to play for their country then why not put in the best efforts so that even if they lose people would have seen their commitment to there nation, i will say it again and again two wrongs can’t make a right, players can’t perform poorly simply because of the poor welfare, instead it is better they reject the offer to play for their country’s national team and just focus on their foreign clubs, rather than accepting to play but refusing to give in their best, citizens must learn to remain patriotic to their nation regardless of the present circumstance.

About CAF, you'll be funny for expecting any better from them after what they did in the last AFCON, patronizing Morocco until the final and still finding a way of crowning them winners even after being defeated in the field of play. Football governing bodies are such a big disgrace in recent times.
CAF has reached out to Morocco regarding the possibility of stepping in as a backup to host the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations, since the current co hosts (Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania) are lagging behind with their infrastructure and stadium readiness. Early reports indicate that if Morocco has to bail them out, they want a much larger financial commitment and more lucrative terms to make it worth their while. Can you imagine a last minute scramble like that? Absolute chaos if it actually happens! Source: Morocco World NewsI'm still trying to figure the politics that CAF is playing with this country called Morocco and why this favouritism? Has the country offered them any bribe or is someone interested in making the country more popular with all these? or is there any other agenda behind all this? Because it's time one needs to dig into CAF members or official to checkmate their relationship with Moroccans.

It is rare to see a player that is committed to the growth of the Super Eagles than Victor Osimhen, we all know that when Nigeria was unable to qualify for the World cup, Victor Osimhen was very bitter about that development, yesterday despite the fact that he was not scheduled to play that, the youngster still came all the way from Turkey to come and give moral support to his teammate, he is just concerned about the growth of the super Eagles and even on the field of play the energy he brings to the table is second to none, I've taken time to understudy his person.
I wish we could have more of his type that would be great for the squad however it is not possible. I know that there may be all the players who are passionate as him, but not as loud as about it. Sometimes the leadership of the Nigerian football Federation kills the passion and commitment of international players that they do not want to waste their time committing to the team. And it is so sad to see. I wish we could do better and we can do better. We just need good leadership.

The super eagles team should take the blame for losing. The fans should stop blaming the NFF for what happened at Guinea Bissau. The players were poor.

I doubt if this is a big deal if really this countries that are co-hosting are not ready for the competition. It is true that Morocco has that infrastructural capacity to be able to hold the AFCON again, but even if that is the case, another country should host it, it should not be them since they just finished hosting the last one. There are other countries that can come in if the current countries can’t co-host the competition and lagging behind. The money that the Moroccans are seeking for will have to be given to them if they resort to using them in the final minutes. This doesn’t has nothing to do with the relationship between them and CAF. The prestige has to be maintained.

I don’t even putting the super eagles in consideration as we all know what will be their outcome at the end, their own be over worst they keep repeating the same thing every season which any changes it suppose have reaching a stage that super eagles have win the trophies. Imagine every season they only try and failed without ashamed of themselves, even the country that don’t expect much from them are doing well but will never included the super eagles. There’s nobody to be blame this time around i think the blame should be on the eagles players because it seem they want their country with the trophies, if not they couldn’t be out of the AFCON every season. what I’m thinking is that there’s something fishing in not just a ordinary again.

I also think the super eagles don’t even care about winning trophies. Since the players are already treated badly by the government, their welfare is not properly taken care of, then the players also don’t care about winning matches, they know either they win or lose, they are going to be paid, so they just choose to play whatsoever which they like, and they are being paid. I think it’s better we drop lots of players which are not really ready to play for the team, and replace them by our own home base players. The fans should stop blaming the NFF for what happened at Guinea Bissau. The players were poor.
I heard the players complained about the poor condition of the field, and the poor weather condition for them losing the match. I don’t even have anyone to blame in the match except the players, because their performance was not good in the match, conceding 3 goals without scoring anyone makes things annoying.

Source: Morocco World NewsWell I think Morroco is ever ready to host the nations cup anytime they’re called upon because they have the standard facilities, that’s what it means to have a working government. I think if Nigeria have what it takes to host the nations cup this would have been an opportunity for them to qualify for the competition automatically because as it is right now they’re not in a good position to qualify for the tournament and it will be a really big shame to miss out again in the nations cup after failing to qualify for the last two world cups.

This is not politics or favoritism, how is it possible that none out of the three countries are meeting up with the standard of hosting the tournament, if Morocco agrees to host the tournament, what they do, nobody has to question them because it is a mockery to the rest of African countries that we can’t do well without their help. They couldn’t regard Nigeria as part of the co-host because we are no better, Morocco is currently the face of football in Africa, whether we hate them for anything, it doesn’t matter, the fact they don’t see themselves as Africans, is because they are beyond a black man reasoning, they’ve developed up to the standards of other footballing continents.

Doing it will destroy the national football entirely because it will make them more worst than now and more disgraceful to the country because as big as they are with millions of overall players and they suspend their national team because of unstable performance, they would definitely mocked them, so actually you wouldn't do that if you understand what it would result, the performance super eagles needed would only be achieved if they continue playing, I'm not disputing some good things their coach has done but if possible the NFF should look for a very experienced foreign coach, even if is for two season and provide him with everything he wants they might find someone that would perfect the team.

You're asking what could have affected right? Maybe I have an answer to that question, mate Nigeria has affected them, super eagles of Nigeria are suffering from Nigeria syndrome, my advice for most of us who put these things in mind so that, we should be careful so that we don't have BP, those guys are crazy and it will be better for us to watch them play if we want and don't take things to heart that much, as for what you said about you preferring the president putting all football events on hold until he see changes, why will he do that, is there any change from his own side, he can't even do that because he knows that he's a failure too, so how do even expect him to understand that there's problem at hand, that needs urgent attention.

I'm still trying to figure the politics that CAF is playing with this country called Morocco and why this favouritism? Has the country offered them any bribe or is someone interested in making the country more popular with all these? or is there any other agenda behind all this? Because it's time one needs to dig into CAF members or official to checkmate their relationship with Moroccans. The reason for this type of move that we are seeing from Morocco is simply and has nothing to do with politics if I may say. Yes I am one of the person's that were not angry with the way and manner the last nation's cup went especially how the the CAF official was giving undue advantage to the Moroccan national team on and off the field. But at this present point in time now looking at the realities on ground it's necessary that CAF has to look for another host , as the nation's that has the hosting right are not ready in terms of the infrastructural development. So CAF has to save the day hence, this type of move. In terms of infrastructural readiness Morocco has some of the best stadiums in the world not only in Africa. It's possible that other nations too are not too interested in hosting the tournament. In This type of case then CAF has to look for a solution .

I always anchor my believe that the head have the most powerful influence in human in correlation to leadership , what is affecting out performance today is leadership poor management, poor organizing standard an so on, back them when Kano, okocha and the rest was doing very well our leaders where trying the best to keep the nation but today your leaders will be in another man country resting and enjoying without knowing if the country is running it's affairs properly, do you think if there is accountability that player who knows what it takes for nation to losses match will not put all their best to ensure wining, I don't blame our players because they are copying from our leaders, but in contrary our team super eagles are not doing well that is the reason I stopped watching them their performance always disappointing mostly when they are dealing with this smaller nation they are meant to win but always lossing is a heart attack that I deem stopped to watched.

At this point i rest my case, let the super eagles fold their hands and be disgracing Nigeria on the pitch simply because their leaders are not doing well, what difference are they if they themselves act this way, are they not worst than the leaders that they are criticizing? a player has jersey and boots and has been selected to represent his country in a match what else does such a player need to put in his best? i always use Nigerian musicians to set example to other Nigerian citizens, see the impact that musicians like Burna boy, Wizkid etc is creating in the world, is it not same corrupt Nigeria leaders that is ruling them? Yet the entertainment/music industry is doing very well, a failure will always look for excuses, i have played football myself for years and no true footballer will want his team to lose shamelessly because of such excuses of poor welfare, it is better not to even play in the team rather than coming to dent your image, don’t the super eagles have self shame? losing 3:0 to a country like Guinea Bissau. Energy is transient, the only way to send a message to this bad leaders is by doing your best at your own level, if Nigeria wins the glory goes to everyone including the players and the government, patriotism means service to motherland regardless of the current circumstances, Nigeria should be considered first in all actions and not just the leaders alone.

The super eagles are not bothered because they get paid by their club. The concern to win trophies is not in their mind anymore. I won’t blame them. If it’s not the love we have for our country, tell me why will I be supporting the super eagles.
This time around the government is not to be blamed for the misfortune of the super eagles team. The super eagles team should take the blame for losing. The fans should stop blaming the NFF for what happened at Guinea Bissau. The players were poor.
The poor performance of the super eagles doe not hit me as a surprise anymore cause it is obvious that these guys have no zeal in them whenever they represent Nigeria in any competition, cause nobody holds them responsible for any failure, They all belong to various clubs in Europe that pay them heavily hence they do not care how Nigerians feel whenever they underperform cause the badge of the national team holds less value to them than that of their various European clubs.

I was thinking the match will end in 2 goals but Guinea-Bissau netted another goal during extra time. Nigerian players are something else if they are disappointing us like this. We are in group stage, we are playing with countries that we supposed to emerge as the number one on the group stage, but we were scored 3 goals while we store nothing. This is very bad.
If they had extended the extra time may be they would have made the goal 4:0 because the super eagles were not ready to perform in the game they only gave excuses that the pitch was bad for them to play. The NFF will end up killing the team as the politicians has killed the hope of the common man because if they can not allow someone who has what it takes to move the Nigerian football forward the bad results will keep coming and as you know when the players are tired of having the same complain you will see some young players leaving the team to retire because they have seen that nothing good will happen in the team. Group stage or not if they are not winning their games how will they make it out of the group stage? the countries we fail to win today we will meet them again in their home and with them having the home advantage it will increase the chances of the super eagles losing away from home, the players need to win every game now so that the point will see them being at the top of the group table.

This is not politics or favoritism, how is it possible that none out of the three countries are meeting up with the standard of hosting the tournament, if Morocco agrees to host the tournament, what they do, nobody has to question them because it is a mockery to the rest of African countries that we can’t do well without their help. I agree with this. Even if Morocco is the only country that continue to host this competition every year, it's because they deserve it. They're not being favoured by the organising body, they work to earn it. If other countries are not comfortable with that reality, they should upgrade themselves and their facilities to the latest standard so they can request to host as well. the fact they don’t see themselves as Africans
Where does this emanate from for God's sake? Morocco was among the founding member of the OAU even though they later withdrew their membership later but they still joined the African Union. In the just concluded world cup there was a viral content circulating on media attributed to one minster claiming Morocco does not represent Africa but the ministry issued a press statement to deny the content saying it was fabricated and entirely false. So how can we say this people don't regard themselves as African? We are the ones that don't see them as African simply because they are better than us.

You guys were giving the Super Falcons a hard time - calling the girls out after every game yet we get to see this rubbish from the men’s national team. Nobody is blaming social media for the eyesore we had to watch instead there’s excuses like the pitch was bad, there is no infrastructure, as if it isn’t the same environment the girls have to train.
