The Saudi Pro league has shown that they understand the business very well which was why they insisted on spending the money to get the league to a limelight and I think the job has been done. Immediately after the signing of Christiano Ronaldo brought a different shape and view entirely. A league that was never known now becomes the last bus stop of many good European players. The money spent in bringing Ronaldo and Neymar was very instantaneously and precisely effective as many star players now come to the league on their own thereby boosting the league more and more and bringing these stars are almost effortless. Most signings are not only for the on field benefit, it brings fanbase and more views which is what matters more than any other on field exercise.
Exactly! Transfers are not done for one purpose only, of getting on-field quality and good players, yes they want it but their main reason for that transfer can be different. In the case of the Saudi League they invested into very popular players, even though they weren’t in their prime and older and payed alot to them just for them to guve their league the spotlight from their big fan following and it happened exactly as they planned and now everyone knows what the saudi league is. So we shouldn’t judge transfers on on-field quality but rather also see its overall effect on the league and the club off-field and in business Point of View

There's no need to compare both of them because they're playing different role on the pitch. Ronaldo is good at scoring goals than Messi while, Messi is more of a play maker than Ronaldo and we have seen this in their various achievements. Ronaldo has scored the highest goals so far, in the history of football and Messi have won all the competitions including world cup. Though, Ronaldo is richer than Messi.
You cannot enjoy football without debates, emphasis on club rivalry and arguments, same with the GOAT debate, these arguments are what make the sport interesting, you don't only see these arguments in football, it happens in different sports as well. We love both players, but the comparison is what would never end, as long as everyone has their favorites.
Comparisons will always exist, and it's a normal thing that can't be avoided under any circumstances. That's the reason why sports betting exists, and you only have to see how football moves because Messi is very good, he's a star, but he always has help, and that makes him fall short of what many admire. Cristiano is pure talent to be able to be at the highest level, and the opposite happens to Messi; he doesn't receive help, on the contrary. That's how I see it.

Ronaldo and Messi are relevant in their own ways and what you said about both players is the truth but if we can put sentiment aside, we all enjoys the spectacular display of Messi but because of the controversy with Argentina at the World Cup makes it looks as if Messi's achievements was being orchestrated by FIFA.
Yea, that's for some people. I appreciate professional players because they made watching football interesting. This is why I wouldn't look at FIFA love for Messi and come to conclusion that Messi\s achievements were orchestrated by FIFA even though, they tried to. Messi was born with football and with or without FIFA, he will still give us all the stunts he has displayed in his entire football career. I still love and respect both Ronaldo and Messi

I neither want nor can hear anyone say that players like Ronaldo and Messi should be retired already. People like that should simply not be allowed to express their opinion. These are players who have entertained the entire world for twenty years and who deserve to play as long as their bodies allow, not because a mere journalist or someone whose opinion is worthless says they should retire.
For the past few years, many people have been saying on social media that Ronaldo should retire. Many people have also said negative things about Messi many times since the 2014 World Cup. Even Messi himself decided to retire out of his emotion , although he later returned. If Messi had really retired considering people criticism, then Messi would not have been able to win the World Cup in 2022. And the thing about Ronaldo is that he is a good player, he is still physically fit, he plays football regularly in the club. So when he retires is his personal decision. There are still many people around the world who love playing football, that's why world famous players like Messi and Ronaldo are still involved in football. In the future, when Messi no longer plays for Argentina but he may continue to play for the club, then the audience for the match where Messi is performing in the club match will be more than the match where the Argentina national team is playing. Just as the stadium will be full, people will also watch the match live on TV.
These two are legends and have really inspired the younger generation and I used to wonder why many people use to compare them to know who is the best or who's not the best. But I believe what we are supposed to be doing is to appreciate what they have done so far but inspiring younger generations and also contributing to the memories most persons have during childhood rather than comparing them, when the both of them finally retired from professional football, I believe they will be able to look back and say, they have done well and have achieved a lot. I love and respect both of them and I wish them well.

When Neymar was in the Saudi Pro League, the number of spectators was much higher than it is now. When Neymar and Cristiano Ronaldo were there, the number of spectators was much higher between each match of the two teams. If we see Cristiano Ronaldo leave Al Nasr, then maybe we will see that audience gap again. Because the biggest reason for adding Cristiano Ronaldo and Neymar to Saudi Pro is to popularize the Saudi Pro League on the world stage.

Neymar's actual playing time in Saudi Arabia was very low. Neymar is certainly one of the most recognizable players in the world. But his impact in Saudi Arabia was not very high. When he joined Al-Hilal, he probably played 7 games in all competitions due to injuries. So I hesitate to say that the Saudi League's attendance increased only because of Neymar. But I think Ronaldo's point is important here. There was a measurable impact on attendance after he went to Saudi Arabia. Even after Ronaldo went, the regular audience at AI-Nassr gradually increased.

We cannot ignore the influence of Messi, but we cannot deny that the audience of MLS was already much higher. Since Messi went to MLS, the audience attendance has definitely increased a lot. If I ever get the chance, I will definitely go to watch Inter Miami's match, not to watch another team's match.
The MLS never got the attention it was looking for before the arrival of Lionel Messi. They brought all the star players before Lionel Messi to make the league more popular but it didn’t work. Most People in Europe, Africa, Asia and possibly others were not interested in watch the MLS till Messi signed for Inter Miami. Messi globalized MLS, you can’t take that away from him. After Messi, several football stars has been signed to MLS but how many of them are you hearing their names? But the moment you hear Lionel Messi these days, what comes to your mind immediately is MLS.
Maybe I don't remember but who are all these star players the MLS had before Messi? The MLS has always been a league for old European players, many of them played there in their mid-late thirties. The only real exception was Giovinco, who went there while still relatively young just because he was offered an incredibly high salary.

It even use to amaze me when people say that Messi achievements were based on FIFA help like how is it even possible? Will FIfA come into the field to help Messi score or are they the once that aided his exceptional dribbles and kills over the years? In life recommendation or politics can get someone to a particular level but the truth is that only character and skill will make such person maintain such positions, Messi is exceptional and that is what has kept him throughout this years, all his achievements are well deserved, you can’t hide a star.

Neymar Jr is an injury and entertainment player as we all know, even while he was at PSG, it's unfortunate that at AI-Hilal he didn't performance quite much and has to play only 7 games due to same injury.
Neymar had the opportunity to be one time world best player or a Ballon d'Or winner but, none of this happened, had same opportunity with messi at Barcelona and PSG during his prime, we couldn't see much impact, let alone at AI Hill when he's off his prime

I think the Saudi pro league understood that bringing in big names was never just about what they do could do on the pitch, it’s was also about getting people around the world to pay attention to the league.for example Ronaldo changed the conversation completely, and once other big stars players started coming in, the league gain more credibility and visibility,

It must be acknowledged that they succeeded in this regard. Signing Cristiano Ronaldo was the perfect choice, it was the right move if they wanted to significantly boost the league’s popularity and guess what, they succeeded, because when they signed Cristiano Ronaldo, they didn’t just bring in one person, but also millions of his fans.

Not only have many soccer fans started following this league, but the media has also begun to highlight its developments. I personally, who previously never cared and never had the slightest interest in following the Saudi Pro League, now find myself watching the matches quite closely, especially after Cristiano Ronaldo and many other star players decided to come here.

There will always be controversies whenever it comes to the biggest tournament in world football. The world cup is entertaining and a dream come true for every player to win it because it's a symbol that signifies GREATNESS in football. If a football player wins the world cup, that means he's more chance to win other major trophies and this is a bold trophy to add to his cabinet.

Agentina happen to be one of the countries that's allegedly favoured by FIFA and everyone is now undermining the performance of Argentina even when they did great in tough games, but how you feel about this claim? Argentina should always make sure they clear people's doubt because it's actual getting out of hand if you ask me.

In the meantime, Leo Messi retiring from international games will mean something for Argentina. A big vacant space have been created and I don't see any player stepping up to fill in the void left wide open by Leo Messi. This is not just a player but one that we can count on and have carried the team on his back several times, Messi will be missed by the staffs, the fans and the players.

I don't think there is any love for Messi from Fifa. It's just natural for people to admire a star when they see one especially if he is a such kind person that doesn't be little others effort just to get attention from the world. Even at his age, he doesn't drag the media, instead he does the work on the field. How many years did they troll him with one thing he never had, they trolled him so bad and he later cleared their face and all of a sudden fifa loves him. Funny people.

I'm glad that he is no retired, people will not have material to post again, the allegations on fifa can now comes an end. I'm even sure Argentina are not getting to anywhere again since he is no longer there. We will see if their faves are going to win the World cup next or the show will become irrelevant as people interest will reduce.

Messi from his early days has never been an average baller.

The Saudi Professional League has some major reasons why it decided to spend so much on players like Ronaldo, Neymar, Benzema, and others. Some of them include helping them win the right to host the World Cup, boosting the country's tourism sector, and competing with European leagues. In my view, the country has achieved only the first goal I mentioned above. The SPL has failed to gain global recognition that will boost the country's tourism sector. Only a few people will travel to Saudi Arabia to watch matches in the country. The league has also failed to develop young talent that could attract interest from top leagues in Europe and America. This is looking like another failed Chinese experience.

The Saudi Pro League decided to invest so much in players as to bring a large portion of people to also follow the Saudi championship, which actually worked with the passage of really important and esteemed players. But we also need to evaluate whether these players will continue to follow these teams once they leave.

This was the only reason players were bought that expensively and big salaries were given to them so more viewers could watch the saudi league and the league benefit form it. It happened as it was expected and the saydi pro league got more and more popular. These are just marketing tactics done by people just for advertising, as all the famous players were no more than an advert

Obviously in the purchase of Ronaldo there is not only a value of the actual player, but of an entire brand, because Cristiano Ronaldo is an entrepreneur in all respects, if we consider his fashion brand, perfumes, his hotel chains, etc. And it was certainly a choice in this regard too.

The popularity of MLS has increased a lot since Lionel Messi arrived. I think his influence was not limited to Inter Miami, there have been changes in attendance, ticket demand, broadcast subscriptions, all aspects. But I think the league has already started to become more internationally known. Especially since David Beckham joined MLS in 2007. Also, some of the world's best players like Thierry Henry, Kaka, Wayne Rooney have already been known to play there.

However, we have to consider Messi's influence separately. Because he came to MLS at a time when the influence of a star like him spread very quickly around the world due to social media and international broadcasting.

Everyone will agree that Messi is a talented player. He has been an extraordinarily talented player since childhood, easily recognizable from other ordinary players. The world of football owes him a debt of gratitude during his time because he spreads his talent to everyone and many are inspired by his game. He is known worldwide and has countless fans who eagerly wait to play his game. His age is increasing and his form is gradually declining and he is being criticized because he should have retired earlier. It is not unusual for any person to have a preference for a great player. Messi may have been given an extra advantage as the best player, which has given rise to criticism. Just because Messi is there, the Argentine team was given an extra advantage and many saw it. This was very clear in the last World Cup, FIFA gave the Argentine team an extra advantage and gave rise to a lot of criticism.

The Saudi Pro League focused exactly everything it had on this, the fact that multiple players with outstanding qualities could go and play in their championship so as not to completely lose visibility but rather to be able to gain it. But it is also true that we will have to see when these players leave if the championship will still be followed.
