Messi certainly deserves credit for proving himself to be a player in a different league than his teammates and the teams he faced, but it's also true that the Argentina teams he faced were among the weakest in the entire World Cup squad. So let's say their chances of reaching the final were easier.
Easier than who? It seems like you are comparing to a specific and team and that’s why you are biased. The WORLD CUP is a tournament designed that all the top countries around the world perform in it and if Argentina is comparatively stronger then the credit should go to Argentina for being strong not other teams to be weak, but if you go down your own argument then yeah it was easier but was England also an easy opponent? I think beating a team that went through the “harder” path is equal to going down the “harder” path. But yeah however it is, reaching a worldcup final is not a piece of cake.
They keeping saying Argentina got easier teams as if , they were the ones that begged fifa to give them those teams. This same cape Verde drew Spain and Uruguay in the Wold world, now they have forgotten that Argentina supposed to face Uruguay in the Round 32.  They got Egypt in R-16 and was supposed to also face Portugal in the quarter finals(but Portugal messed up and ended up being second). So why are these Ronaldo fans always crying that Messi got an easier opponents , whereas their goat Uzbekistan,Dr Congo and Colombia but still ended up being second.

The person who says all this basically does not consider which team is winning and which team will fight next. If they did, they would not say all this. They are basically blind because they cannot like the good play of any team other than their own team and whenever their own team performs badly, they start talking bad about all the other teams and so on. The person who denies this, that Argentina was not a strong team to go to the World Cup final in this World Cup, is definitely not arguing logically but is arguing like a half-wit. Because Argentina was definitely a very strong team, although, my favorite team is not Argentina, yet I praise them because they were a strong team in this World Cup.

In my opinion,I will say the team is built on Messi all these while and now that he will be retiring, they will need to seriously make a lot of changes and the players will need to quickly adapt to it and make the right changes quickly, because many players will have new roles and many things are going to change now that Messi is going, what matters is the ability of the team to adapt to the new system  to make sure that their consistency and performance doesn't reduce at all.

I don't think this has ever been a secret, because the entire Argentina team relies on Messi. All passes go through Messi, just as the national team coach desires. Messi is the player who establishes balance on the pitch and, in fact, is the only player free to roam the pitch as the situation dictates.
Argentina is a national team that has always produced star players and even before Messi, Argentina was already a great team and had won the World Cup, so mentally, the team has been strong for a long time. Messi has certainly made Argentina what it is today, even taking them to consecutive finals winning once and losing once to Spain. It’s true that Argentina relies on Messi especially since he is the team captain, but even if Argentina plays without Messi in the future, I think they will adapt easily especially since the new generation in Argentina also produces great players.

So I think Argentina will still be a favorite team in every competition whether in the Copa America or the World Cup even without Messi. Because Argentina always produces talented young players like Nico Paz, Matias Soule, Franco Mastantuono, Claudio Echeverri, and there are still a few other players who might be even stronger by 2030 to strengthen the national team.

Argentina has always been a great breeding ground for talent in the history of football, perhaps the only country that can be considered on a par with Brazil. There are certain regions of Argentina that are particularly well suited to producing champions. Apart from the Buenos Aires area, which is the most populous in the country, there is the Rosario region, which has consistently produced incredible players: most recently, Di María and Leo Messi spring to mind, but there were also Kily González and Kempes in their day. Now there are also Icardi, Lo Celso, Banega and Molina; clubs such as Rosario Central and Newell’s Old Boys have contributed so much to the Argentine national team.

Im just reading the name of this thread and im already getting angry, what a disaster is becoming football and FIFA more.

How we can take it serious, a world cup ""organized"" by 6 countrys is a complete joke.

Well in all honesty the Euro Cup 2020 (which was postponed to 2021 because of covid lockdowns) took place in 11 (eleven!) countries.

Although they were not separated by an ocean like these, eleven is a huge amount. Plus one of them (Azerbaijan) was basically in middle east so the distances were still enormous for some teams and fans.

I'm not supporting that but I wouldn't say it was a disaster, as long as there are no visa problems.

Mark this words, I think a lot is possible if we people agree that there is no more heat than we create. The truth is, associations like FIFA or UEFA control the final results at any given time. Sad

They are basically the Big 3 countries who have made such list in my own opinion. Brazil will come first, but after Brazil the second country ever is Argentina, they are another national team which has produce world class players over the years, then the top third one will go straight to no national team other than France. Sometimes you also cannot do without completely leaving out Spain who have also produced some of the finest players we have today in history including Coach Xavi who has done tremendously well in his career as a player and manager too. Spain has also been able to produce the likes of Iniesta and Pedro too who can also be referred to as a world class player. France has produced the likes of legendary Zidane, Kylian Mbappe, Thierry Henry and others, same applies to Brazil who are like the best in terms of the players.

Calm down there, because Morocco, Portugal and Spain will be the main hosts.
Argentina, Paraguay and Uruguay will receive only one game each as a part of celebration about 100th anniversary of the first FIFA World Cup, which was played in Uruguay.

Of course, having three teams start a tournament in South America and then continue on Europe and Africa is an extra travel complication that FIFA created just for this... I also do not think that a centennial tribute justifies spreading matches across three continents.

Anyway... it is not that bad, but it is also nothing good Tongue

You are right. And I really welcome the decision that FIFA has taken to celebrate its 100th anniversary. The extra travel is a bit complicated, but I think they will give them enough rest before the next match so that this travel does not have any impact on the match. This will be known when the 2030 match schedule is fully announced.

But I think it is quite good that FIFA is being organized in Europe and Africa. Because there were a lot of football fans and people who like football in Europe and Africa. And this time FIFA is organizing it in the USA, where the USA was not that popular as a country. Considering that aspect, the 2030 World Cup will be quite exciting. And express it just the World Cup on the occasion of its 100th anniversary is not enough to describe it. It is going to be the greatest show on earth of all time. And the country that wins this World Cup will be remarkable in the history of football.

But the world cup is gradually loosing some vibes with this new hosting patterns. It is true that it allows more number of countries to have the opportunity to host a world cup game but there's a level of intensity that comes with allowing one nation to host the world cup ranging from stress management to economical benefits.

FIFA must have falling to the pressure of some nations who are desperately seeking for a chance to host a world cup tournament, now they get to play some games. The players will have to travel across zones repeatedly simply because they are playing this tournament. FIFA has their views but whatever be the any celebration that's causing this spread out can still be celebrated in a country with the full vibe as long as they involve planning experts. Just like you said, it may not be bad, but it makes no sense..

It's just a one time thing and a 100 years celebration that its being organized in South America too. Portugal, Morocco and Spain though span two continents are very close to each other. There are several factors for it and hosting large events like Word Cup has become very expensive. Morocco or Portugal alone might not have been able to host the World Cup but with Spain, they could be part of it. The distance between stadiums in Morocco, Portugal and Spain too is smaller than different stadiums in US. If FIFA to ask nations to host the world cup individually, I don't think any more than 10 countries would be able to do that in future.

You guys mentioned 3 national teams that, in my opinion, all have one thing in common: they lost their identity. Brazil doesn't play like Brazil anymore, they "Europeanized" their game style and they lost their magic; Italian teams are playing with more and more foreigners; and the German team is full of second-generation players. Of course I'm oversimplifying but if we take a look of these teams 20 years ago and now, these are the first big differences I can notice. They all had a switch for the worse, and the (non) results are visible.
Who told you that Brazilian team "Europeanized" their playing style? I doubt that. All I see are bunch of incompetent players who are lesser than the former teams. The same thing is applicable to Germany and Italy, as Italy is the worst of them all, while Brazil is still better than the current Germany. You see, talents are not the same, and if the most exceptional team played for a nation this moment, that doesn't mean they can carry that forward; talents are individual. I will blame it on their football agency and coach for not discovering or selecting the right talents due to one reason or another. That's on them!
Who told me? Just look at the games. And nowadays many promising Brazilian players move to Europe as soon as they turn 18 years old, so they don't really spend a lot of time playing in a Brazilian environment. Check online, several former Brazilian players complained about this change.
If that is your definition of "Europeanized," then you are correct, though it's not accurate in the wider context of their failures. This is not just starting; it has been like that decades ago, even when Brazilian teams were still at their peak.

Talking about the European football, aren't they the best?

Im just reading the name of this thread and im already getting angry, what a disaster is becoming football and FIFA more.

How we can take it serious, a world cup ""organized"" by 6 countrys is a complete joke.

And now im reading the news about the 3 teams coming from south america are gonna have a free ticket to this world cup when they are not gonna put any stadium for it, plus why Paraguay is also getting it? Argentina and Uruguay as far as i know is because of the century conmemoration but Paraguay for what?

Worst of all is they are gonna keep playing the qualy but for nothing since they are already qualified, what a complete joke.

It is always about more and more money. 2030 will be an anniversary of the 1930 World Cup, and for that, they are giving it a special celebration. But why didn't they simply hold it in Uruguay and Argentina? Why involve other countries and run it all over the place? It is because of money; that is all they want. And someday, maybe 20 years into the future, they will ruin everything, and football will cease to exist as we know it.

It's true, they lost their own identity for worse in the search of becoming a better version of an already great team. That's what happens when you dont appreciate things the way they are and try to bring change even when not needed, brazil doesn't play with that kind of magic anymore, italy and Germany dont play that fiercely as they once played so yeah, one should not bring unnecessary changes to something that is already performing well enough in its natural state, but it could also be that these teams failed to evolve with time and now the world of football demands more, and they got confused in what to do to an extent they lost their own style.

When something works, you don't need to change it. As they say, you don't change a winning team. In this sense, you should find players with the same qualities and let the national team play as it always has, if that's what has always made the difference, and not try to change because people might think football needs updating.

Oh sorry, my bad, for some weird reason I wrote "Talentless" when I, of course meant "Talented".

Of course he was very talented, but the rest of my writing was exactly what I thought: he was not a leader and he needed both partners of approximately his own level and mentally strong leaders/a captain who would keep the team's spirit up.

He had all that at Barcelona which explains his tremendous success there, but at Brazil, even though he managed to become the best goal scorer, he simply couldn't lead the whole team to trophies on his own.

I would say more or less the same about Oscar too.

It's difficult to be a single player and make a difference for an entire team, much less an entire nation. In fact, you're often forced to sacrifice your personal selfishness for the good of the team, which always remains the priority at a club, whether it's a football club or your national team. You always have to play for the team.

There are teams that know how to adapt, and there are teams that struggle much more. For example, a few years ago, Norway was thought to be completely unstoppable, but in recent years they've focused heavily on improving their squad and, in fact, have even gone quite far in the World Cup. And then there are teams like Italy and Brazil that have done the opposite, coming off excellent results in the World Cup, but have gradually lost their audacity.

I was also confused about why Paraguay was getting a chance. Later I found out that the first World Cup was held in Uruguay and they were the champions of that tournament. Argentina was the finalist of that tournament. Later I found out that the reason for keeping Paraguay was because CONMEBOL's headquarters are there, which is also related to the history of the 1930 World Cup.

At the same time, I would like to inform you that the 2030 World Cup is not being organized equally in 6 countries. The original hosts are Spain, Portugal and Morocco. And Argentina, Uruguay and Paraguay will only host one centenary match each.

If you say that Brazil is currently very weak and has even lost its identity, that's true. But if you say Neymar is not talented and failed to lead Brazil, I think that's not quite right. After Brazil golden era, Neymar is the only very talented Brazilian player, but he has experienced something like a curse in Brazil because he always gets injured in major tournaments with Brazil.

Neymar often gets injured while playing for Brazil in the World Cup, even getting injured in four World Cups. In the 2014 World Cup he got injured, in 2018 the same thing happened, in 2022 again he got injured, and in the 2026 World Cup he also got injured. Not only in the World Cup, he was also absent in two Copa América tournaments in 2029 and 2024 due to injury. It's because he keeps getting injured that he hasn't been able to do much with Brazil, let alone lead them to win titles.

Neymar is a player who could have truly continued to shine in his career, but it was very unfortunate that it was interrupted when he suffered his first serious knee injury, which prevented him from ever being himself again. As for the Brazilian national team, they know they have a lot of quality, but they don't play simple football like traditional Brazilian football, because they had to evolve into a more European style of play, which, however, doesn't yield results.

We need to stop favouritism and stop allowing some nations to host the world cup simply because they are desperate, because the moment FIFA starts allowing nations to host the world cup and they don't have what it takes to host it, it will affect the vibe and the beautiful moments of the tournament but they need to start getting nations that even if they are desperate, they will be willing to follow the FIFA guidelines and will allow the other nations to have a very good and well organised tournament even if they don't win it, but right now, we don't even know if the wins or hosting is rigged or not. But regardless, this competition must be well organised and be fun filled for every participating nation and even viewers worldwide, but some little rules or restrictions from the host nations without explanation can obstruct all of these experiences.

Everything you see that the FIFA has arranged for the 2030 FIFA world cup is all about the centenary celebration, so don't take it too personal, Uruguay, Argentina and Paraguay were given this privilege because of the 1930 world cup that kick-started in south America, FIFA isn't trying to favour this country over another. Also, aside that, don't expect things to remain the same forever, change is constant, though that's not the case with what FIFA is trying to do here.

I don't know how old you are but Brazil used to have incredibly talented players such as Rivaldo, Ronaldo, Ronaldinho, Adriano and Kakà: these were players that could literally change the game thanks to their ability to think outside of the box. You had Ronaldo or Ronaldinho in front of you, you had no idea what was going to happen. After these players who did we have? Neymar was the last real Brazilian in my opinion. And then they just kept losing their identity because 20 years ago players like Vinicius or Rodrygo, who many consider star players, wouldn't have played even a single friendly match for Brazil.
So my question for you is: do you know how Brazil used to play?

Talking about the European football, aren't they the best?
Sure, but I don't see how that's relevant in this case.
