Diving a Ballon D'or award to 39-year old Lionel Messi for his contribution to the national team of Argentina in the last World Cup would've been a bit absurd. Messi has eight Ballon D'or awards and is considered the GOAT in football. He's pretty much OK without having to receive yet another award.

Yamal is just 19 and he has a lot of football years in his hands. I am very sure he is going to win,because it ain't normal for such young age to enter the top ballon d'or candidates 3 times in a row, it really crazy.  Messi won his first ballon d'or at 22 years , that's 3 years above Yamals own. Whether people like him or not , he has alot of potential and could surely end up with 2-4 ballon d'or or probably more in his lifetime. I would be really sad if I was Mbappe , he really got close this year but what cost him is the trophy he didn't win. That guy should have gotten like 2 ballon d'or by now based on his consistency  but luck is not on his side. He will surely win it one day, only if Madrid starts winning trophies again.

Possible for him to win it next year because he has started the season in a way that deserves it. All he has to work towards is winning the Champions League and winning the league. Have a massive contribution to the Barcelona team when they win the UCL and the league. There won't be any argument if he wins both trophies and if he plays a crucial role in those titles.

Before now there have been some levels of skepticism about the winners of some Ballon D'or but this time it is very different because almost every football fans agrees that Harry Kane, is the best and deserving of the Ballon D'or I congratulate him and wish him all the best as he celebrates for himself and england. Mbappe have a good run up in the last days before the award, on many predictions market, but record doesn't lie and Harry Kane have already made that big difference that was hard for anyone to break because haven't scored 73 goals is something that is impossible for others the beat.

I wanted Kylian Mbappé to win it but since he didn’t win it I’m happy he is ahead of Lamine Yamal this shows he was more deserving of the ballon d’Or more than Yamal.

Yes his consistency was not in doubt but although I was still very surprised he won the Ballon D'or because there were some of other players who was also more consistent last season than him but however it doesn't mean I'm not happy for him because is also a good thing for him to win this award for the first time in his career. You are right about Lamine Yamal because it will only be a matter of time for him but so long as his consistency always remains this way he will surely get there because there might come a season he will not even have much competitors with his contributions.

The list of players from 1-3 are very much deserving of the award, they all did well for their respective clubs and countries and even on a personal level they got what it takes to win it mostly especially for someone like Kylian Mbappe who I think if not for his lack of trophy last season, there wouldn’t be much of a debate about who will win the award. But why is it that this years Balon Dior award looks so different from the others, there’s no clear favorite and I don’t think there’ll be any form of biased voting if not by this time we would have been hearing of a particular club boycotting and not attending the ceremony because their player didn’t win just like the year  Rodri won the award and Real Madrid boycotted attending the ceremony because they feel their player Vini Jnr has been robbed of the award.

From the categories used to vote, Harry Kane have a more balanced number and for me he his the most deserving person to win it. He have trophies, goals and Also a very good World Cup campaign. Too many French players in the top-10 with Mbappe taking the most of the France-aligned votes. Same with Kane and Bayern-aligned votes. This ironically results in Olise ending up so low here.

Such rankings make no sense and they don't represent anything. It should be #1 (aka the winner and the rest). Because as it is now it's simply insulting for some players especially with Messi being #5.

One thing I love about Harry Kane winning the Ballon d'Or is the fact that finally he has been rewarded for his incredible contribution to football before his retirement age and has done numerous things when it comes to football, a master class in goal scoring, and even performing wonderfully even at his age, though this season the Ballon d'Or nominees were all incredible players, and it was a bit difficult to make a choice, especially between Kane, Mbappe, and Lionel Messi and Yamal because of their individual and collective contributions.
