Rethinking Digital CurrencyBitcoin, the world’s first decentralized digital currency, was launched in 2009. It was the prototype that introduced and demonstrated to the world the potential benefits and usages of a decentralized digital currency. However, digital currencies are still in their infant stages and have yet to see widespread mainstream adoption and usage as a unit of exchange both online and offline. There is a need to rethink the current approach to the design and marketing of digital currencies in order to achieve a global mass appeal. August 30thOn the 30th of August the Pandacoin (PND) development team will unveil and release the highly anticipated set of major development updates to Pandacoin. The founders, developers, and architects of Pandacoin (PND) endeavor to redefine the current space with this set of major development updates, and be positioned to become the future digital currency of choice for the masses. If people doubt the activity of the devs, just come over to the IRC at #pandacoinPND. I assure you there will always be one of the devs there to reply to you
Hi cadexn! I'm replying to you ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) :p Yes, devs are extremely active, lot more active than with other coins! Thanks ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) we try to be, the community is a very important part of this coin. Community always comes first, that's also why we want to make a coin for everyone. And that is what those that have been around PND for a bit like, Ozzke; that the devs are on here and IRC ( #pandacoinPND on freenode), ready to answer questions to the best of their ability. They may not be able to answer all questions, but they will at least answer you; can you say that about the "coin of the month." ![Grin](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/grin.gif)

Some one on the dev team with strong twitter/crypto cred should reach out to IconicExpert and those guys to explain what Panda is, what's going on, that there's no IPO, pre-mine, scam etc.
Now is a good time; the big ICOs they were behind (Neos, Syscoin & Clustercoin) all went to hell. The only one that didn't dirtdive is Xcloud and that's dropped down to just a percent above the ICO price with no volume. Vootcoin completely melted down into nothing.
Everything else is just treading water or is an obvious 48 hour pump and dump (Halycon or Raw).
If Panda gets up to today's Dogecoin level in price anyone who is in now will be rolling in money; now is the absolutely best entry point and I think the Twitter guys would jump on it.
They have huge followings in the crypto world and in the non-crypto world so this will spread word about Panda everywhere.
This should be a constant (although non-spamming effort). Crypto people have the attention spans of Mayflies.
NOOB MANAGEMENT
I think it would be good idea if the devs came on during rallies and dumps to caution/re-assure the noobs to not be too enthusiastic, not be too pessimistic and to remind them that 99% of what they read here during big price movements will be whales manipulating their minds. They especially need to be aware that new accounts screaming about "da moon" or "sell! sell! sell!" are just sock puppets.
They need to know that if there is a huge rally the FUDsters will be out in force to crash the price so that they can get cheap coins.
They need to be aware of the "buy on the rumor sells on the news" wierdness in crypto and that they'd be better off selling at the peak August 30th, buying back way more Panda after the crash and then settling back to watch the value solidly rise for months if all if the dev promises are true.
Keeping them in the loop will help us avoid creating legions of angry bagholders who brought too high during a manipulated pump who then get on here spreading noxious FUD because they're broke.

Most part of noob management revolves around the community itself. While having devs involved is great, it is ultimately our responsibilities as a community to educate new people. Trying to avoid angry bagholders is impossible. We can, however, minimize the damage done by them through education. Let them understand that being a bag holder is not always a bad thing.

I'm curious, why the disagreement re working with the Twitter people? I know that opinions on them are very strong in many quarters. Unfortunately, they're the closest thing crypto has to a "mass media" that can reach into each coin's closed silo community. As they're going to find out about Panda anyway, why not manage the process, get them to buy in and have Panda's growth and stability be in their interest as well? TWITTER

Hello, I bought some PND back at the beginning of the year. Now, when I try to sync I seem to get stuck on block 138473, approx 4 weeks ago. I'm running Mac OS X 10.7.5. Could someone please respond in plain English (I ain't no tech-head ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) which wallet version I should be running and if I need to make any tweaks once the correct wallet is installed. Thank you in advance, K
