Hello All,

Despite the lack of recent activity I just wanted to post on here to see if anyone is still dealing with this coin.
Personally I started mining it and am having fun with Blue Coin and a few other coins.

As such I'm wanting to get a feel for what users of Blue Coin would feel about a marketplace online that you can buy actual physical products and have them shipped to your door just like any other shopping site but you pay with alt coin? Nothing crazy just small stuff to start with like USB drives and other little things like that. I'm hoping to universally accept all alt coins.

I will be taking my idea live in the next couple of days.

Actually version 1.2.1.0 is the latest. And it is working fine for me.

Changes:

1. Removed X11 PoW mining from reward scheme.
2. Transaction confirmation times dropped to 30 seconds.
2. Upgraded staking algorithm to Proof of Stake Velocity.
3. Set maximum annual interest rate to 10% (combined PoW & PoS rewards).
4. Removed multi-year decline of rewards. Staking interest will be set to 10% forever.
5. Fixed check-pointing errors on the network.

After careful deliberation we have decided to make the above changes due to BLU's falling PoW network hash rate. As discussed in this thread: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=551861.0, the strengths that come from a dual hybrid algorithm are quickly diminished when the PoW chain operates at lower hash rates. Unfortunately, our chain has been running below 1 GH/s for months, making the network vulnerable to botnets & large GPU farms, who with enough hashing power could launch a successful double spend attack on BLU exchanges & services. Because of this we feel we are in a safer position as a community if the job of securing the network is put back in the hands of the loyal balance holders. For this reason we are switching to a pure PoS algorithim. To further incentivize node creation & a vibrant staking ecosystem we have transferred the PoW rewards (5% per year) to the PoS chain, and have upgraded our staking algorithm to Proof of Stake Velocity.

Mullick, remember you and Vern fixed my negative BLU balance about 4 months ago?  Well, it came back and I have filed another 4 tickets since then with no help.

So it seems there is a serious blockchain problem with BLU.

Do you think that will be fixed after this hard fork and that growing negative balance finally removed?

The devs for BLU are top notch BTW, I'm surprised to see this issue happen for so long.
