No specific date can be given for 3.0 but 6 months time from now should be enough to deliver it.
Principles of coin rollout plan wouldn't change and once we hit 2.5 million we move into a downward curve PoS reduction (that's the only significant change here) which will make the coin rollout feel more natural rather than have a sharp drop. When we reach 2.5 million is up to how much people stake as the trigger is not set to any particular block number/date but sure 2018 is the year.

its hard to predict POS participation

we all know that there can be differences between plan and final result
that can go in both directions we can even finish it 2 month earlier
or 5 months later.......

means we aim for a release in area July - September
in a pretty similar timeframe (Q3/Q4 2017) we hope to release the first UCA service with positive economic impact on DMD
there we see a release in multiple cycles
which means a working prove of concept with base features
and follow up releases that add additional abilities and "fluff"
