The contest isn't necessarily linked to the MN, it can run as a standalone and was originally intended to be so. Contest attracts more publicity for the MN and OC, so it only made sense to marry the two ideas. You'll see how it comes together in its entirety.

Votes increased by ~30% and that is great news! If you were looking for an update, sorry to burst your bubble, haha.

Maybe we should wait for the wallet fix where it gets stuck before we launch any kind of contest.  This way anyone new the coin can get started without seeing a broken wallet.

Is anyone else having sync issues?

I downloaded the new 1.0.4 wallet and tried to sync from fresh.

I get to block 10 000 and then it just stays there.

I'm getting a lot of these warnings/errors in my log.

ERROR: CheckProofOfStake() : INFO: read txPrev failed
WARNING: ProcessBlock(): check proof-of-stake failed for block 3885c0a20f393c935affab1b31e4d5224d2fdbc09d436f19f9f83176c010bdc0
received block 420a3ccffef3c2d24aa7

yes same thing with me too!!!!!
I closed the wallet and opened again it synced to 10500 and stuck then I closed and open again synced to 11000 then stuck again then closed and open 4th time it has synced all the way to end.

just try it a few times. I only have a mac wallet but it seems to be the same.

Then it works without complaints  Wink

This worked like you said.

Thanks

Thank you for reminding me guys, I have it on my to-do list, to look in to this issue. While closing and opening the wallet does fix this, it's not an acceptable solution to have to do this.  This issues was present in the wallet  before 1.0.4, and will be fixed ASAP

Yup

this coin needs some more action to be honest.
Since the announcement of masternodes i've just been watching this go down +/- 400%.

How about a reddit? Does anyone want to create a reddit for Orangecoin? www.reddit.com

Contest Fund Financial Statement

Well, I'm only human and I made an error. I sent the remaining coins needed to pay the "250 First Member Giveaway" at orangecoins.info/forum which I am now taking over the payouts from my own wallet. No big deal, but I sent the coins to the wallet with the contest fund. I sent a couple of giveaway payments out of the CF by accident, forgot to set the coin control every time, in case anyone checks the explorer.

The CF should have 30,716.610135 and will be maintained as such. Need the transactions to go through before I can fix it.

Transparency at it's finest Wink

Edit: Looks to be 95 and 93 OC were sent out so far, more were sent but I'm not tracing it through all of the splits.

I resent the coins to the fund, everything is supposed to be where it is. Sorry for the confusion, folks.

Hi Halofire,

I just saw that Cryptsy wants identification to be verified. Does this mean you have to do so to trade on Cryptsy ? Or, is it still possible to trade with no verification ?

Would be great if you knew, thank you .

Any USA based exchange that deals with the USD will require you to prove who you are IF you decide to trade your cryptos for fiat. If you are planning on alt-alt trades only, you don't have to sign up. And yep, cryptsy will abide the law just like a bank, so if 'underground' is your style, stay away from America.

Cryptsy, Bittrex, Poloniex, Coinbase are all american if you guys didn't know.

EDIT: I used to use https://crypto-trade.com when I was mining UTC way back when, but MT GOX scandal happened and CT held our coins for a week, causing UTC to lose 75% since CT was the main exchange for UTC at the time. Mintpal was just born shortly after. Anyhow, CT is based in Hong Kong and will trade BTC/USD anon last I knew, but I haven't used CT since Feb/Mar. Withdrew my coins and hadn't batted an eye since.

Well, part of that message that was deleted included this:

I set up a P2P pool for solo mining smartcoin...
the top two addresses are mine. Idk the 3rd one. possibly a royalty address for using the program, but is so miniscule.

where do you think this could lead for OC?? hmm?  Wink
Don't get your hopes up yet... Still a work in progress.

Less than 24 hours before SMC switches to x11 from scrypt and my P2P gets shutdown so if you want to look at what I've done, check it out now.

Dev's: Can I get the networks.py for OC? There should be 2 types. I know mining is over, but I don't know if I'll need them for anything.

If you guys watch the pool, you will notice my 2 address will reverse positions in stats and payouts. I have 1 gridseed 5 chip doing 400kh and 1 ASIC doing 27-30MH and have reassigned the main addy to the 400kh and the new addy to the asic.

Feel free to hop on my pool! It's free, no fee!!

Here's a .bat example for p2p pools:

cgminer.exe -o deleted IP -u SWxo7xd55iLMXaH9wut9AxWARUh9Wy9cMH (this would be your SMC address) -p x  --scan-time 1 --expiry 0 --queue 0 (your additional settings here)

I would actually prefer if one of you miners could point your rig to my pool so I can see if it works outside of my world. You wouldn't have to stay on for long, just a block or two to see if you get paid. And it's fee free!
