One who believe in bitcoin won't cry for bitcoin. When it is in the growth and loss he just waits patiently. The person who are hard to earn in a short term when meet scenarios like loss drastically will focus on gold. Gold has big value because it got into existence before ages and bitcoin has only few years of existence. |

Right now the market cap, as well as the daily trade volumes are very low. This makes Bitcoin extremely susceptible to price manipulation by short-term traders. Also, the lack of government recognition and supervision makes it even more easier for conmen, to manipulate the exchanges (just remember the manipulation by Mt Gox in 2013 December). |

I go for bitcoin and gold.
Bitcoin for purchases.
Gold for savings/investment
There is no need to choose, so why should i right?
ARE YOU SEE GOLD CHART IN LAST 5YEAR ?  gold is very bad for investmen better to save/invest at bitcoin then use fiat for daily cost, also save some of your fiat for future (if itcoin price down again you can buy bitcoin with your fiat) Have you seen the gold chart for the last 15 years (since 2000)? Gold performed BETTER than any other currency.Buy both! * * * Another alternative is platinum. Currently Pt is at a 28% discount or so to gold (normally Pt sells at a 5% - 20% premium to gold). Pt is "value dense" like gold (and BTC!) are. Pt moves a bit differently than gold, so it too counts as diversification -- at least to a degree. For the paranoid, if "they" confiscate the gold (unlikely) they would probably leave platinum alone. |

For common who doesn't know about bitcoin they will say gold priority in saving, because it grabs fine growth in world market in these years. according to bitcoin users I guess no one will choose gold for the savings. Because bitcoin's price heavily thicker than gold. which is growing in high speed in all among digital currency. |

But, we seen bitcoins growth catch up to gold, and thats the difference while gold had to really slowly climb its value. I say hedge both, but honestly its better to hold bitcoin because it has multiple values of how its used. |

now investing in gold can be online such as bitgold, so it does not need to be complicated to buy gold with large amount. now to be flexyble As you suggested people have started using gold as investment. There are various forex sites for the investment of gold as commodity and as cash for the value of gold. Gold value won't get a high price often but the price increase of bitcoin takes place often which benefit users more than gold. So bitcoin is the best |

To be honest, there are certain reasons for both investments.
Problem with BTC is in my view you still need a healthy environment of internet and electricity. This is not needed for gold. So if you think about a worst case scenario, you should have at least some gold.

Gold on the rise while Bitcoin is dumping.
With a low leverage position Gold looks great long-term currently. Bitcoin on the other hand looks like at the edge of the next bear cycle after the Bull winter run.
