Hi ho . . . just curious about the POOF messaging service. Ok so it's encrypted and the message deletes itself automatically, right? Is the service decentralized?

Hi ho . . . just curious about the POOF messaging service. Ok so it's encrypted and the message deletes itself automatically, right? Is the service decentralized?

A user can send 2 type of messages, a plain message and and encrypted message.

To send an encrypted message, the user needs to choose a key to encrypt the message. That same key should be passed to the recipient by any means to decrypt the message.

It is similiar to the IRC protocol where you need just an alias to communicate. You have to first verify your wallet address within your wallet and pair an alias with it. The messages are auto deleted after 15 secs once they are opened so no trace is left behind. But yes you can take a screenshot of the message or copy it.

Detailed explanation will be provided once the wallet release date is announced.

I just read the reuters article and had to post this quote for anybody interested in investing SaffronCoin or might have stumbled on this thread.
I mean talk about potential...

"Future plans include creation of a Crypto-Currency Exchange to trade SaffronCoin against Euros, Rupees, USD and other Currencies as well as build out a network of physical ATM's. The SFR Dev team is currently exploring development of an encrypted real-time messaging / chat system within the Multi-Tasking Wallet to connect with people and transfer coins instantly."

Yes the exchange will be cryptoxindia.com. The same team that brought you SFR will be creating this exchange. So SFR will be traded at lower fees than other coins.
This exchange will start with INR in fiat and then it will expand to USD and EUR.
There is no multi-crypto exchange in India that trades in INR, so we will be the first.

ATMs could take time since we need Govt. permission. Atleast a year. We will be looking to introduce the first Bitcoin ATM in India. If the Govt. approves altcoins, then SFR would have its own ATM.

This is one of the hardest working Dev's in the business. We have had our issues in the past but no matter what I for one can vouch for his honest, integrity and work ethic. He will listen to the community and not rest[sleep] until issues are 100% resolved. Many new features are in store for Saffroncoin but I think the POOF system, prospective Unocoin deal and possible ALTcoin exchange are the biggest upcoming features. Anonymity has also been postulated but I think Saffron should also consider a deal with XCP [Counterpartycoin] protocol that allows an 'Asset Creating' protocol to be overlaid on the existing Saffroncoin blockchain. I'm not going to pretend to understand the entire system but it would allow existing SAffroncoin addresses to store another coin called say SaffronCounterparty that could be used for personals loans, financial instruments, casino games, peer to peer finance, etc. I think a new wallet would be required but the blockchain would remain the same and one's existing saffroncoin address would be used for transfers. Saffroncoin would have be 'burned' for SaffronCounterparty

Here is an example of XCP Counterparty coin that works over the Bitcoin protocol. It would be the same for SaffronCounterparty.

Here are some examples:
