Don't use submitblock. It wasn't tested while hard forking to NeoScrypt a year ago. Use getblocktemplate mode submit instead.

My PC crashed with an OrbitCoin wallet open. Now the wallet gives an error at startup and refers to the debug.log file.

In there the last line says:

"ERROR: LoadBlockIndexDB() : hashBestChain not loaded"

What should I do now to get this fixed ?

Thanks in advance for the help!

Looks like an unrecoverable DB error. Restore from a back-up, bootstrap or redownload.

Could you experiment with the testnet? It's less expensive than to mine blocks on the livenet which get rejected for some reason. There are two active testnet nodes at seed1.orbitcoin.org:25298 and seed2.orbitcoin.org:25298

Start the daemon with debugging on and look at debug.log to see why it rejects them actually.

ghost read this
https://github.com/luke-jr/bitcoin/commit/8d3a84c242598ef3cdc733e99dddebfecdad84a6
edit: https://bitco.in/forum/threads/buip015-decentralize-mining-with-the-fair-pow-algorithm-and-an-user-configurable-pow-setting.809/

edit: https://github.com/bitcoinclassic/bitcoinclassic/pull/6 "This solves mining centralisation by enabling GPU miners to be the leading-edge again. (Hopefully the next generation of ASIC miners will have learned their lesson, so we don't need to do this again.)" Grin

so why not neoscrypt?

My English is not perfect, unfortunately! But Neoscrypt would be an alternative and at the same time increase the democracy in BTC! That would be a win for all Altcoins.

The diff / hashrate shows just how much want to have the BTC and possess and thus want eventuelll also use ...
more Quotes to use, the more users, the higher the value. because to use the BTC can I have to keep the BTC also, the greater the distribution, the smaller the size of the consumer per person / company, and the higher the value

so that inflation does not increases with higher demand, the diff has been integrated proportionally, grows in specified time with the demand. The time has been integrated so that the network can not be brought to a halt by a short hype of miners, and thus transactions are also possible. So demand has grown in real terms over the period, so that the diff rises.

moreover, I believe that behind the large pools in China, even the government is to the BTC to convert to dollars, as well as behind the major exchanges.
because the government has made it abundantly clear that they do not want the BTC, but allow him to mines with low electricity costs and to trade with 0% Fee?

A hardfork in a non-ASIC capable algo takes, the value of BTC increase, according to this theory. As the holder and are larger by users in the Western world, in my opinion, and the competitive advantage disappears by cheap electricity in China.
maybe someone carries this idea next time

I take it together times what there is in China with respect to the BTC
1. Hardware producing for BTC
2. mines is allowed to BTC
3. act to 0% Fee is allowed to BTC

but the population is told that he is a fraud and there is a separate Coin developed for the people !?
These are already hard facts as I find, and all the facts bring hard currency into the country of china. Because they want to devalue the CNY, as announced.

That's for the updates @Mario! I would have no idea these discussions about BTC were happening if I wasn't paying attention to this thread  Cool

like, unfortunately these people do not understand China does not want to BTC!
China wants only foreign currency! Namely dollars!
So everything is permissible what brings dollars!
But they will never allow the BTC! It is a dictatorship!
On huobi and Okcoin, the price will be driven up to prevent the escape of dollars.
China has done in the last few days a lot of it! Thus, different things were put in order. Gooogle Offshore Yuan and onshore yuan, and Hong Kong dollar

So I think the core making a mistake if they ignore it.
The facts are clear! China wants only dollars in their financial system, the yuan is devalued, see Davos

I take it together times what there is in China with respect to the BTC
1. Hardware producing for BTC
2. mines is allowed to BTC
3. trade to 0% Fee is allowed to BTC
4. China refers to the BTC as a fraud. And want to establish its own currency for the people in China, this is certainly a scam!

http://www.newsbtc.com/2016/01/23/bitcoin-core-developers-controversial-algorithm-change-shut-down/

I believe an Algo change, would be best for the BTC and his appreciation and thus all Altcoins! Because China wants only dollars, they have lots of US bonds sold in recent months, so the dollar rises and falls of the yuan.

satoshi said, one PC, one miner not china monopol miner!!! Never is this the idea!
Democracy is that all have the same opportunities! But they do that? when electricity is much cheaper in China than the western world? Through nuclear power?
sponsored by the Committee as well as the 0% Fee's on the stock market? No, it economic power

the Core's are afraid of BTC falls in the price if the diffculty lowered! But the idea is wrong!
The value is created by the user. More users, the higher the value! A better distribution and equality for all users around the world the higher the value of the BTC.
That's the market law of supply and demand

A monopoly leads to that the price is distorted by the monopolists!

If that is the goal, all remain in the Fiat! Because banks have a monopoly, you decide whether the stock exchanges rise or fall!

Neoscrypt, would be a perfect alternative to the monopoly! And in combination with POS also! All have an equal chance with ordinary hardware
