NxtBridge - a wrapper for Nxt to make it as easy to integrate into exchanges as any bitcoind fork - has gone into alpha/beta (I'm not sure  Grin)

Bridge is ready for crossing. Might be a bit creaky as it is now, needs some user input.

checkout at:

git clone https://github.com/l8orre/nxtBridge

#######################
#
# Function Calls implemented below
# Numbers as per appeearance in listing of bitcoind help
#
# getbalance # OK -uses wallet.dat DB
# getbestblockhash # OK
# getblock # OK
# getblockcount # OK
# getblockhash # OK
# getconnectioncount # OK
# getinfo # OK
# getnewaddress # OK -uses wallet.dat DB
# getreceivedbyaccount # OK -uses wallet.dat DB
# getreceivedbyaddress # OK -uses wallet.dat DB WOKRING ON !!!! ALMOST READY
# gettransaction # OK
# listsinceblock # OK -uses wallet.dat DB
# listunspent # OK -uses wallet.dat DB
# sendfrom # OK -uses wallet.dat DB
# sendtoaddress # OK -uses wallet.dat DB
# settxfee # OK (n/a)
# validateaddress # OK

However, since bitcoind API, and especially the 'accounts' feature of the 'wallet' is a big pile of cracked crockery,
individual exchanges may have to adapt some of the returned values to slightly different formats- s.t. that can be done easily, but not without knowing the specs of what is actually needed.

Note the we have designed these specs by pure conjecture as to what exactly might be convenient for the exchanges and thus have constructed these bitcoind- 'CONGRUENT' api returns.
So a complete and smooth 'as-is' integration should not be expected, but as said, adjustments can easily be made now.

The NXTbridge is about to be tested out in an exchange environment, it looks as if www.ccedk.com will be the first NXTbridge user, giving NXT access to another NXT<>fiat gateway. Much good news....

And now the important bit: we need to plan and execute a little PR campaign for CCEDK to spread the word about both them and NXT.
Anyone want to help out?

Nxt gets slammed on this website as they don't take into account nxtforum.org  Shocked

http://www.coingecko.com/

So I had to let him know  Grin

Hi Bobster,

Nxt has 95% of its activity on nxtforum.org.  If you go there, the most online per day will be 100-150 people (scroll to the very bottom of the frontpage of nxtforum.org to see). It is currently at 134 and it is like this day after day. In the 108 days that the forum has been open, there has been an average of 550 posts per day. Can you reflect this in your stats? We don't really use Reddit so your website isn't capturing the big picture, Nxt has a HUGE community.

Can add these bits to give a fuller picture?

Keep up the good work.

Thanks  Grin

Crypto initiative supports Machine Gun Preacher

Money transfers to East Africa are expensive and frequently unreliable. TXT Coins Now, a platform built on the second-generation cryptocurrency NXT, aims to address this problem by enabling users to make mobile payments by text message and phone call. The initiative will be paid for via StartJoin, Keiser’s digital currency crowdfunding site.

TXT Coins Now uses NXT as its default currency, due to the versatility and speed of the crypto platform – currently rated #3 by market cap. The NXT community will be supporting the funding drive. Lee Gibson Grant will also be adding support for Max Keiser’s StartCOIN, which will be used to send money abroad quickly and with minimal overheads – in contrast to the slow and costly bank and money-transfer services available.

Just in case it gets forgotten in the jungle that is Nxt Projects: https://nxtforum.org/nextblocks-info/ann-ipvo-of-nxtblocks-virtual-profit-tokens/

NxtBlocks has started its IPVO!

Virtual Token Name: NXTblocks
Asset ID: 3374201242031203848
Issuer Account: NXT-FTH6-9JSZ-8UEU-AJEUY

This is the site with the first easy to check Assets and the first secure browser wallet with multiple account support!

https://nxtblocks.info/

Buy while you can!

Quote
State of the art

NXTblocks announced the first version of its block & asset explorer on May 26th 2014, backed by prominent community members Klee (who owns 4.44% of the project) and Pouncer (who owns 13.33% of the project). Since then, NXTblocks has established itself as one of the prominent NXT services web application in the NXT ecosystem, and we have been consistently serving 700-1200 unique users (different IPs) per day. Our first beta version of the browser-encrypted NXT wallet was announced on June 24th 2014, and twelve days later we had more than 230 registered wallets. We expect those numbers to increase on par with NXT's user acceptance rate.

Features planned in future versions of NXTblocks:

Currently, the project is under heavy planning and development in order to design, implement and incorporate all the necessary features that will make NXTblocks what we aspire it to be, which is the number one destination for those who are interested in NXT or make transactions in NXT. Planned features include:

  • An Android (and possibly IOS) mobile wallet application. We are in a premier position of building a lightweight smartphone client for NXT. So-called "heavy" clients are too resource demanding for smartphones, both network-wise (since the blockchain needs to be downloaded) and battery-wise. We are already designing our API, which will be utilized for building a lightweight smartphone wallet client as well.
  • A browser extension that will function as a verifier to enhance security of our web application.
  • More detailed asset information in the AE explorer, including asset holders (with export functionality that will be useful for asset issuers), total capitalization and more.
  • Asset dashboard/portfolio within the wallet that will offer combined asset information and management from multiple accounts.
  • Asset trading from within the wallet, again from multiple NXT accounts.
  • Development of gateways between BTC, LTC and other bitcoin-based currencies to NXT assets, and embedding withdraw/deposit functionality from within the wallet. This will enable us to offer trading of alternative cryptocurrencies from within our web wallet, thus using the NXT Asset Exchange platform to function as an exchange.
  • A Digital Goods Store frontend. We are looking at possible ways to facilitate trading of legal digital goods, while avoiding questionable goods that may compromise our credibility and reputation.
  • A Digital Goods Store wallet dashboard, offering combined product and order information and management for all wallet accounts.

  • Message inbox and encrypted messages functionality.
  • Twitter-like functionality (mark accounts as followed and see their messages in a message stream, useful for following asset announcements etc.)
  • Offering of a RESTful API in order to facilitate the emergence of other services and startups.
  • DNS server based on the NXT alias system (a PowerDNS-based prototype is already in the works).
  • We plan to gradually set up and monitor at least 60 large NRS instances which will serve a backbone of our infrastructure and API, and simultaneously helping the NXT network backbone.

At least for the USA

I thought Congress recently passed a Bill easing requirements to be exempt from SEC overview/regulation for startups ??
As long as you're raising less than $5 million with fewer than 2,000 shareholders you're good to go ..

So get busy with your DACs/IPOs ..  NXTers  Grin Grin

It raises some good points, but the whole purpose of crypto currency is to operate outside the restrictions of government policies.  If Nxt started to operate based on US Gov financial policies, I would sell all my Nxt tomorrow.  The goal is to offer more financial freedom/control and eventually become so popular that world governments have no choice but to comply or die.

Market Makers required for Nxt fiat Gateways

USD and EUR available.

Can you or someone you know buy and sell EUR or USD for Nxt to provide liquidity for a new fiat exchange? If so, see below. There is money to be made  Grin

By the way, while our development team is solving technical issues, our commercial department would like to ask the NXT community to help us find new Market Makers.
It would be a great opportunity to start with several Market Maker contracts.
Market Makers get exclusive conditions. For more information, you can visit this page: https://hitbtc.com/mm
