Thanks Vega, but isn't there an Auto-Update feature?
You mean for the client?
There is a notice if it is outdated, and you can get a link to update from the client. (However it was broken in a version, maybe it was 1.2.5?)

To determine the public key and other account info in GUI, just click "More Info" directly under "Account Balance"

@opossum

You seem to have an account with an asset (where an asset was sent to) but no Nxt and this seems to influence the public key requirement logic.

How did you receive the asset? Who sent it?

To fund a new account the sender must put the recipient's public key in the sending form. This is needed only for the first transaction, for all subsequent txs to that recipient the sender only needs to put the recipient's account address and the public key of the recipient is already known to the network. They introduced this requirement about 2-3 weeks ago. You could receive your asset before this requirement was introduced.

@opossum

It's an interesting case - probably the client doesn't check the public key requirement correctly when there is already an asset registered to an account.
Should be a rare case - worst case you would have to derive the public key "manually" from your passphrase and then you'd be able to found your account with Nxts.

Posted it here: https://nxtforum.org/nxt-helpdesk/no-public-key-message/msg96730/#msg96730

Nxtforum is a lot more active than this thread, maybe there will be some good ideas  Wink

Weird, I'll try to fix this for next release.

Go to http://localhost:7876/test

Fill in the getAccount or getAccountID with your passphrase. It should give you your public key.

I tried updating to the latest nxt-client-1.2.8 and speeding up the blockchain download by dropping the old nxt_db directory into the new nxt folder. The old nxt.h2.db file was about 300 MB, and it has ballooned out to over 1 GB during the database update before the blockchain has started downloading. Why does the new version of the database need so much more space to store the same amount of data?

The growth is temporary and related to the update scripts running on the DB.
You can restart NXT NRS and the DB size will be back to around 500MB.

Hey guys  Smiley I'm relatively new to NXT and I was wondering if anyone of you could help me with this little problem I'm having. So I've got some NXT in my desktop wallet and I've tried like  3 times to send a few coins (2-3 NXT as a test) to Bittrex but it doesn't show up in my account. The Bittrex NXT deposit page has a message box and an address box and it says that I need to include my message unencrypted when I send the coins. When I copy the string of letters and numbers from the message box and paste it in my client unencrypted, it shows up as the Bittrex deposit address  Undecided
What I am doing wrong? is it a different 'message' that I need to include? Any help is greatly appreciated  Smiley

Never used Bittrex, can't answer, but you should ask here, that's where the community is and someone can quickly help: https://nxtforum.org/index.php?board=7.0
