snipsnoop and everyone else that's offered suggestions on my wallet issue:

It's been maybe around 7 hours sitting in my tray, and it just now popped up of its own volition. I left it sitting there, just to see what would or would not happen. But there it is.

Interesting, thanks for letting us know.. Any chance of a log file please?

I had the issue, DLed 1.3.  deleted everything out of my syscoin folder except the wallet.dat.  Checked the run as administrator checkmark.  With that everything starts and loads with no issues.

Help me out. Which log file do you want? Where is it normally located? I'd dig it up myself, but I'm up to my arse in alligators right now.

I'm on Windows 8 and found that the installer version of the wallet would still hang in the taskbar for me, but the standalone exe works perfectly. I wonder if it has something to do with being installed in program files and not having proper permissions there or something...I've seen that problem before, especially since Microsoft beefed up security settings to make it harder to mess around in program files in Windows 7/8.

I also got a wallet issue on Win 7 64-bit. I can use the wallet once and it works. When I close the wallet and open it again it shows the loading screen and then it shows in the task tray but it never opens up. I left it there for an hour or so but it does not open up to be used. What does work it killing the task then deleting the block chain. Then the wallet opens up fine and downloads the block chain. Then when I close and reopen the wallet it never opens up. It just loads and shows in the task tray but never opens up to be used.

I am running the standalone EXE on each of the machines I normally use. This particular version 0.1.3 I only installed on one system so far - Win7 Home Premium x64 Service Pack 1 on an AMD 8 core.

It's been a continuing issue from earlier back in the thread. I think the dev is the best candidate for sorting it out.

But, hey. Thanks man.

I'm on Windows 8 and found that the installer version of the wallet would still hang in the taskbar for me, but the standalone exe works perfectly. I dropped a stack of mine over there yesterday, planning ahead. All swapped over and waiting for my next inbound, but it is in limbo.

Heh, so take a number.

I already have a ticket with them from 12 hours or so ago. Nobody needs to bug them about it.

REALLY Important guys that if you use the installer you need to uninstall all versions first..
You might still be using the old version. For the moment we will likely just distribute the stand alone exe since this is causing a few problems.

Just to be sure, go to Help / About Syscoin.. If its not v0.1.3 you are on the wrong version and will still see the old issues

devs,

I'm wondering - on exit, is Syscoin detaching from the databases and properly closing all of the open files? Corruption seems to be the reason we who are afflicted must keep deleting the Syscoin folder.

I know you believe you understand what you think I said, but I am not sure you realize that what you heard is not what I meant.

Syscoin is entirely independent from Moolah. They are our valued partner and we are working with them closely but we are autonomous. Wanted to clarify this point as some people were saying Moolah had taken over Syscoin- this is not the case. We are discussing long term partnerships with them involving and related to the presale BTC and will issue a statement once complete. Syscoin is going to be successful and we're both committed to seeing that through.

Notice: In the interest of current and future investors, we will be locking this thread in the next day or two and moving to a new thread with more clear information about Syscoin, its roadmap, team, how to get help, etc. This thread has just gotten too long. This will remain open for now until we have the new thread ready. We will backlink this thread from the new one for transparency. Thanks.

Now that stuff is up and running right we want to have a clean thread.

Cheers Dev. This thread is WAY overdue to be nuked lol. I'm looking forward to the new thread with clear goals, faq etc Smiley

EXCELLENT!! BTC talk is a cesspool of immature kids, and whales fudding. Its no place for serious coins, or needs to be moderated. I am excited about the new thread at least, if not hopefully own personal forum at some point.

Looking forward to the death of FUD and hope it's deleted so investors see this as a serious coin with a future, not this behavior that has taken off last week. You immature fudders should be ashamed of your behavior on this thread.

If you want to keep your bare wallet.dat file (strongly suggested) ---
Open "Computer" and in the top address bar, type "%appdata%" (without the quotes) and hit enter
Then scroll down the right pane until  you find a folder "Syscoin" and double click that
You will see several files and a few folders - Right-Click-Drag wallet.dat to your desktop
Then hit the back arrow in the Window where you have "Syscoin" folder open
Then left click ONE TIME on the folder "Syscoin"
Press and hold shift while you press the "Delete" button.

All gone.

How i can make TOTAL delete syscoinwallet on win7?
