Hi Jan/crypto4jan, It was great talking to you at the Arhem Bitcoinstad event. Good to see energycoin being developed and connected to a green initiatives and ideas. Greetings from the Internet of Coins team! Regards, Agent725 - http://internetofcoins.orgI've gotta ask, and it's not to be rude/demeaning but... did Jan seem to know what they're talking about and really be passionate for this project? I'm asking as they seem to be based on their forum activity, but as we've seen, that doesn't always mean they are really pushing for anything. I'm still throwing bits and pieces of BTC at the coin as I can based on what I've seen, but I'm really curious about this. And Jan, again, this isn't anything against you personally, . But I do view it as an investment and that's not something I take lightly.

If nobody is selling why are more people not staking only 5 connections on the wallet My Rasberry PI has 12 connection now. I think in some time you have to limit the amount of connections if the project starts and many Dutch people in Arnhem have Energycoin. Just be patient then we can create a great EnergyCoin community with lots of people outside Bitcointalk and we moveover to the EnergyCoin forum and we discuss the endless awesome green applications people have in mind.

Also, to stake, you only have to connect the wallet from time to time to get the same amount of coins. So the incentive to run always ON nodes is low.
All guys that hold a correct amount of EnergyCoins should run their own node ALWAYS ON.
A raspberri cost around 30$, a big and quite fast sd card around 20$, and energy consumption of a raspberri is around 3W per hour...
There is a reward of 10K ENRG to earn with Rasperry PI! http://energycoin.pw/forum/index.php/topic/90-reward-energycoin-eco-green-node-deployment-project-on-raspberry-pi/I hope on more participants! I think I can achieve succes by working together with hands-on experts in the Netherlands in the field of Crypto Currency.

Following my last post.
if anyone still has slow wallet issue. (old wallet). Then download the new wallet. But problem is it wont work with old blockchain data.
So type %appdata% in run. Then go to EnergyCoin folder. From here, copy blk0001.dat file to C:/ Now click on command line, run as administrator (its important)., . write
cd C:/
then
COPY /b blk0001.dat bootstrap.dat
Now it will create a file C:/bootstrap.dat
now go to %appdata%/EnergyCoin folder. Delete or move the old old's blockchain data blkindex.dat and blk0001.dat go to your new EnergyCoin-qt.exe right click > create shortcut right click on shortcut>click properties> click shortcut edit the target field and add -loadblock=C:\bootstrap.dat
Now it will take a lot of time, because it has to strap and validate the data. After this, new wallet will load much faster! it will load in a few seconds. So try it. and get rid of the old wallet.

My Pi node has 30 connections as of now. So, from my point of view, things seem to be running good. I have to wonder if fewer then expected connections could be a port issue or ISP issue.
In any event, I just wanted to toss that out there.

Do we have improvments for the raspberri wallet somewhere ? ( from page 312 ) Raspberry PI energycoind : https://mega.co.nz/#!bgox3DrR!6l-yo9s_gfBrC7pndy1jOHjXv31XEznA1JXF09I_OmA energycoin-qt : https://mega.co.nz/#!WoJyTaAT!QBrwyIwbwOXYYJYUD7XmBJHr-K9XNijQ9pTjnQy2H88 This is the updated pi wallet if you do not already have it. It dose indeed load faster. Again, this was originally posted on page 312 of this forum if you want to check.

I have found no problem at all with running GUI. I do recommend cutting your GPU memory reserved to 16 mbs and unloading any extra things that you may not be using on your pi ( like GPIO oriented drivers and stuff like that ) but it is not necessary.

That's a nice advice, I will check that. Also, cutting everything not needed is nice for security. Maybe an EnergyCoin distribution for raspi would be nice A fullnode preinstalled, +some related softwares would be nice to boost the network (but I don't know how nor have time to do it) I like the idea. I have the time but not the knowledge to do it. Maybe as time moves on I will put more into programing. I tend to be more a hardware kind of guy. It is a great idea though.

About 2 hours from the time of this message, my pi node will go offline for any place between 15 mins and 1 hour. We are hitting a time around here where power issues are more likely to happen and I want to do some maintenance, updates and I want to save the block-chain and wallet to an optical disk just in case I have corruption of my SD card due to power failure.
i doubt my pi will be missed by the Energycoin network, but I thought I would just give some heads up.

5 on windows Wonder why this happens? My pi is still at 27 connections. I guess it could be that the ports that energycoin uses could be closed on your router? Just a guess. One would hope that the problem dose not have anything to do with your ISP blocking ports..

After my maintenance and backups of the pi last night im back up to 28 connections, so I guess all went well. What I do not understand is how the number of connections on any given node are determined. More then a few people have been giving numbers in the teens or less and I hardly ever see less then 26 connections at any given time.
