probably it is a regular thing about the node.js language - but isn't it unsafe to enter your password in a browser?
please forgive my ignorance, but how can it be safe when it is sent to an ip somewhere?
in the case of NXT I can understand that the client is running locally and the PW does not leave my machine - but what if someone does IP spoofing or packet inspection?
so let me just assume that my password is processed locally in javascript and the communication with the server is done secured by the password but not containing the password in cleartext? That would make most sense to me. Since it's node.js your password should be processed locally yes. It seems to be transfered in clear text though: http://picpaste.de/pics/node_test-SwrhxlUv.1407051530.pngnode.js has nothing to do with what's going on with your browser or communicating with the site. node.js is only running on the server itself. As for the password issue, they don't have the server setup with SSL at this point. Once they do, it will be just like any other financial site like your bank, paypal etc. Even this site is using SSL.. So for now, yes there's an issue. All the devs need to do is buy a cert and get HTTPS running which imho should have been done before the actual launch but hey...as long as they do it soon.

I get NODE Account # 12336957661887674448
My number in the list is #15641667066091303754
And I dont have the password wrong, I already made that mistake with NEM, I may have lost my NEM stake because of it. Patmast3r said he will try to help me, but thats another story.
I copied the password from a text file this time, and pasted it in when I made my account. I am pasting in the same password from the same text file.
I am coming up with different Acct number than what is in the list and what I had typed in my text file.
I am having the worst luck with my stakes in these things.
That's the same problem nxt people have again and again. The same password always returns the same account number. Sometimes when copy and paste from textfiles it adds additional whitespace or it fucks up special characters and so on. Try to type it manually. Don't use text editors for passwords! Use some password manager like keepass or Safe in Cloud

Btw, please, give us a link to the Member list on the 1st page like it was before. And it looks like "Learn more" buttons are not working there either (though I guess you know it, but just in case...).

Sorry to hear that! The input is case and space sensitive! If you copy/pasted the password from a text file there is a chance that you copied by accident an extra space, either at the end or beginning of the passphrase! Try different combinations! It doesnt matter if I add 1 or 2 spaces before or after the password I still get 12336957661887674448. If you add a space or two before or after it makes no difference You said others had this problem, did you figure it out yet? You said to let you know if we got an account other than what was on the list. What am I supposed to do?

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=trust;u=186785Here is the link to my trust settings here on forum. This trust system is very unfair. I make good on every deal Ive ever made. I had many, many deals as you can see and I never scammed anyone. All it takes is a random account to give you negative trust and youre screwed. Tomatocage has never even talked to me ever but when the random acct hit me with negative trust, Tomatocage came right behind him and marked neg trust again so obviously he was the one who did it. You can look at Tomatocage trust and see how many of his compeditors at the currency exchange thread he labeled scammers. I never scammed anyone. My trust was green over 20 before this. I hope it never happens to you because the mods cant help you.

I think we will see more and more people reporting this problem, the only reason we realised is due to the fact that we wanted to try out the software and the ID had definitely changed from the original along with a lot of other features.

Some text editors/word processors automatically capitalize the first character of the first word in a sentence. If you pasted your passphrase into one of these it would generate a different account.

I cannot get it, how can u keep your password in a text file, copy/paste it and hope you will never get hacked? I guess it's better to type it every time - that's safer anyway, well, unless there is a keylogger hiding on your harddrive...

Not like there is a TON of money to get there It would be a lot of work I would imagine for little gain? I will use keepass from now on as I am starting to get more value if hacked I guess.
