Yes it is true and actually the government through their central banks are already on the process of creating a digital currency using blockchain technology. China will launch their prototype as early as September this year. Soon this freedom that bitcoin gives us will fade away. I may be wrong but I am giving a warning to bitcoin users at is is very likely to happen. Banks are being threatened by bitcoin and so to counter their problems with digital currency they will also settle it digitally.
