DarkAGes: I want to apologize for earlier accusing you of FUD and want to thank you for pointing out the sudden increase in hashrate from ~150Mh to 1.5Gh a couple of hours ago. Thankfully we were able to respond in time by deploy some emergency hashrate while the difficulty retargeting responded. Thankfully the difficulty has now climbed to 52. We are have been testing a variant of Nite Gravity Well and hope to deploy within a fortnight. for now we will monitor the hashrate closely on all the major pools.

How long before the difficulty change??

Uro is on a smooth responding custom gravity wave implementation, the difficulty does adjust every block but it some times takes a day or two to settle if the hashrate changes by more than +/- 300% within 1 hour.

Multipools are typically populated by many miners, so even it the distribution is faster then planned over short periods, the currency units are still being distributed to many people, which is fine.

It should also be noted there is currently 1.3Gh on the decentralized Uro p2pool network - so there is no 51% attack happening.

2,5gh hashrate 13 diff. block every 10 seconds... I'm out, dumped all my coins before these big guys do that. Thank you dev, I really thought URO is good coin, very pitty

We deployed the 2Gh on p2pool to protect against forking while we investigate the issue. We will be upgrading to a more responsive re-targeting algorithm soon.

UPDATE: Difficulty has climbed to 52. The block chain has not forked and is safe

Its only unprofitable if you think in terms of days instead of months. However, the retargeting does need to be more responsive, and this is being worked on.

tipical wrong opinion. I can mine BOOST (or ahother profitable coin) and by URO - that way I will have about 6 times more URO then from mining URO directly

To compensate we are injecting enough hashrate to balance that of the other pools - this prevents forking of the block chain. We are monitoring the situation closely and will adjust the amount to keep the balance until the diff stabilizes in an hour or so.

New retargeting code is being tested and will be deployed in around a week. We will provide the necessary hashrate compensation whenever undesirable diff scenarios occur until the improvement is deployed.

You can use "stratum+tcp" or "http" in the url. From what i see, it make no difference.
With sgminer it display stratum with both prefix.
