It is a common myth that Bitcoin is ruled by a majority of miners. This is not true. Bitcoin miners "vote" on the ordering of transactions, but that's all they do. They can't vote to change the network rules.

Just wondering, do you guys put 100% of sha256 on btc or other cryptocurrencies?

I did LTC for a while a few months back when LTC price fell so gathered up a few Litecoins then sold some of them when price got to around 7-8 USD.

I was just lucky I guess..

Hey, this coupon with 8% OFF is available until next Monday:  LiveMine8

The code didn't work as you said it is valid until Monday. Any other code that is confirmed working? I wanted to try out cloudmining, and this would be my first instead of going Hashnest.

Thank you!  Cheesy Wink

Well i have both Hashnest and Genesis, Hashnest guarantees to pay or pause contract (with no fees) till btc prices rises and continues on there pacmic contracts.. genesis will just keep charging even more then the already 3/4 fees till there is nothing left, or possible end the contract.. much like they did with the people who were forced into  from scrypt on a 1 mhs to 1 gh/s conversion, talking about getting screwed..

also its not really fare to compare pacmic to lifetime contracts, the pacmic is basically a secure loan to bitman with an .00000008 (in interests)per second payout on the remaining balance, once that is reached its over. Genesis is paying for daily 4ever  Smiley

The major difference is the ability to sell your contacts.

If you want to upgrade to a more efficient miner, you just sell and buy something else. If you want to get out, again, you sell your contact with Hashnest.

Genesis Mining lifetime contracts are useless cause there is no contract which can be profitable longer then 2 years. So why do I need a lifetime contract again?

I agree. And Genesis Mining HAS TO implement the selling possibilities. If I could sell my contracts, my ROI would be quite good at the moment..

Well if you are tryng to sell your S2 or Umisoo contracts, doubt if anyone would want to buy them off you at the moment, i mean, why would you want to buy something that could be worth nothing in a few days.

From the hashnest website.

Since August 18th, 2015, revenues from UMISOO and ANTS2 PPS contacts have been lower than the power cost required by these machines. In accordance with the original contract terms, after ten days of such conditions, the contracts will terminate. We currently expect that these contracts will terminate on August 28th, 2015. From August 28th, these machines will be eligible for a 15 day redemption period. During this period, UMISOO and ANTS2 contracts will not be tradeable on the Gigahash Exchange. Each 1000 GH/s of UMISOO and ANTS2 can be redeemed for one unit of Antminer S2 physical hardware. The handling and packaging fee for each unit is set at USD $50 per machine, and the cost to ship each machine to Shenzhen is USD $65. Shipping costs from Shenzhen to final destination will be calculated by shipping company rates.

Hi Genesis Mining Community

Regarding BitcoinXT

We are currently in the process of testing the client and if we are done with it, we will most likely switch to ‪#‎BitcoinXT‬. Just to be clear: running XT means that our users will always be on the largest chain, regardless of whether a fork happens or not.

More about this in our blog here.

After announcement like this we see and a bitcoin price drop.
Is a bad choise and has no logic at all from genesis especially when the most pool in the world choose not to follow bitcoinXT

https://bitcoinmagazine.com/21699/major-mining-pools-make-stand-bitcoin-xt-fork-support-bip-100-grows/

i really cant understand how a mining company think that a fork or divide of bitcoin ecosystem will help them for their business plan. this is nonsense. BitcoinXT is an altcoin that it try to hijack bitcoin and nothing more

Quote

“While the question whether and how to increase the block-size limit is a technical one, the Bitcoin Core and ‘Bitcoin’ XT issue is political. By introducing ‘Bitcoin’ XT, Gavin Andresen and Mike Hearn are splitting the community. Totalitarianism and dictators cannot co-exist with the free and open-source software spirit.
“Boycott ‘Bitcoin’ XT. Bitcoin Core forever. Gavin Andresen and Mike Hearn should resign,”

..... running XT means that our users will always be on the largest chain ....
But not on the longest....

I think a more strategic / wise approach it will be to start voting in the blockchain by signing your mined blocks by a message (coinbase blocksize vote) and not start using the BitcoinXT. By signing the blocks you will send your message to the Devs and promote the consensus solution.

Consensus should comes from the market, not a bunch of devs.
